U.K. So far the best Soul version of Sweet Music Man. She hasn’t been given rightful place in the Industry but Madam Millie is an Heiress in the Music and performing industry. She beats all other versions of this Classic by Kenny Rogers, may his spirit rest in perfect peace. He cheered our hearts with Sweet Music.
I love the RAW in this woman's voice, she don't need to be anyone else but herself.. I love every song Millie sang.. Millie you touch my soul with your beautiful voice and honesty!!!
This music remind me of life in the early 80ts music was honey comb Sweet and Juicy. Hold your partner very close and rock the sweet music I was then 25 year of age am now 73 . Still alive amen.
Two reasons in my humble opinion, folks too lazy to write great songs, and it is even harder to find great singers like Millie who could put so much feeling into their songs.
This goes right to my heart. With every record by her, a Dutch reviewer Harry van Nieuwenhoven (RIP Harry) praised it into heaven,He knew her right from the start and gave always 5 stars (oooohw as well as her lyrics! )
Millie is just wonderful.... the emotion in her voice is so real and earthy. I just well up every time I hear this. The girly backing singers are great too. I have been a fan of Millie's since the late 70s and I would love to see her live one day, if only......
Late night in the late 70s and early 80s listening to this song on my dad's radio and here I am reminiscing of those sweet days and nights filled with sweet music like this. Millie was a great and prominent figure in my life those days as she is still today. Love her like crazy......
That right, nobody sing a love song quite like you Millie Jackson. You are the very best defination of soul music. Your music takes me back to my high school years. I appreciate your music.
Real music. Sorry hip hop generation. This is when music was music. Yall wouldn't know about that. Nobody sings anymore. Just scream and shout with instruments playing in the background. Love Millie and the old school music.
yo hip hop is real music too. don't call that mainstream bullshit you hear nowadays hip hop. dig deeper and u will find out what i'm talking about. peace.
When people start talking about the best female artists most forget to mention Millie. Maybe it's because of her antics or because she is so unpredictable. Make no mistake, Ms Jackson is raw and powerful and ranks right up there with the best
saw millie perform live in my home town barbados moons ago, and she was young, energetic and sexy. her voice is powerful and soulful, and this version of the song is by far, the best
I first saw millie in Boston Ma many years ago and I must say she song right into my for life and she is still there today. so much true and pain in the things she sing about. I play her music every weekend for more then 30 years now. so I guess I'm hook on Millie Jackson. I love her and her music forever.
An inimitable voice which tells tall tales groovy, Oh !! Millie J !! when your songs is thus it's like making a small round “elsewhere” and returning too early on ground ! Thanks U for all
this is my moma stuff we use to sit and listen to the LPS , you young people dont know about this. i have every record she made. millie is the stuff went to every concert with my mom i miss her so much
My first exposure to this song was through Kenny Rogers. I really thought his version was the very best. Then I heard Millie Jackson's version. Her version does not have to take a back seat to any other artist that recorded this song or will ever sing this song. her version is raw and earthy. I just love her honesty in songs.
Always loved MILLIE'S GREAT MUSIC. Sadly, there is nothing to compare nowadays, music has lost its flavour. Undoubtedly artiste from the the 50's thru 80's produced some of the most compelling love ballads ever heard. Millie Jackson was one of the greats who delivered a knock out punch with any song she did and she did it like a lady unlike this generation of gyrating and almost nude performers. Music has become so commercialized, no one is interested in the ballad anymore only naked bodies.
True 8 yrs ago, and still true today. Music had POETRY, it had WORDS; They worked together and aimed at your heart and mind, so that you NEVER forgot it.
