There’s a property in Irvin that is about the same design as this one and it’s going to about 9.8 mil so I feel like he got a really good deal not only that the house will pay for its self really fast with all the videos he will be making in it

just wanted to mention that those "pillars" that you referred to around the 3:50 mark are the baskets that the wall panels are returned to after peeling them off the concrete after its poured and set. They are lifted out with a crane, that's why they're easily seen and accessible on the garage islands. Love the vids, Graham! Much love

Those “pillars” youre referring to are a bundle of the steel forms used to form the foundation they bundle them up and the form truck loads them out.

This is one time the Breakdown is better than just watching the original, not that stradman video was bad, but hearing the price with no one to say if its good or bad was kinda meaningless to someone who has never even come close to spending that amount. Good job Graham

Not convinced any interior designer would get any value out of doing James' house haha. The people who watch his channel are not the people who hire interior designers!

Actually that isn't true. They end up saving money for clients as well as expediting the schedule. They have trusted vendors and relationships to other design/construction companies that are beneficial. They are also integral in the planning stages of the project as they are always having to think of aspects of design and livability that average people take for granted and don't even think about. And unless the people who watch his channel are living there or are potential buyers, it would have been beneficial to hire a designer. Just watching his videos on the construction of the house, I saw multiple areas where a designer would be more efficient (in design and construction) and expedited the process. It could have saved him a lot...sometimes inexperienced homeowners can be penny wise and pound foolish.

I was always wondering why the classic bricks or siliceous sand molds (e.g. Porfix, Ytong) are not used in the US. They are very common in Europe, much more energy efficient and last way longer than wood (especially when the prices for lumber are so high).

I had to buy blinds for (almost) my entire 3,900 square foot house. Lowe’s quoted me about $870, but they messed up my order and I ended up only paying like $230 lmao. But even at $870 it wasn’t a bad deal, and I didn’t get the cheap stuff either.

Do people not think of the smaller things you end up spending on why buying a house? Because for me I've gone back and forth on it a lot besides property taxes you pretty much always need money aside for plumbing and hvac or electrical issues, maybe roofing etc so that alone doesn't even include things like window treatments and home decor and at that rate it makes sense how people end up being house poor as they dump their money into their homes this also goes for people who buy condo's things like the HOA fees and so forth can add up. Maybe I'm just really cauteous but I feel like I hear about home issues more often than not and why people will often sell homes. Though I will say benefit of a new home is you probably won't need to worry about the plumbing and other things that you would over an old home.

Youd be surprised a lot of new homes are built poorly and some home building companies have a one-year warranty where they come and fix anything for free which is most commonly plumbing or HVAC and foundation

I remember that interview you did with him on whether he can continue doing his car vlogs and I've concluded that he can after considering guys like Jay Leno, Jeremy Clarkson, Harry Metcalfe from Harry's garage and Wayne Carini from Chasing classic cars. These are some old guys but their content still gets views, I personally enjoy watching their content and that Jayemm on cars guy, he's obese but it doesn't matter what he looks like it's about the content. So I think James is set in this career path for the foreseeable future. I think the only threat to his content is a population decline which effects all industries.
