In fake combat the top people going charging off into battle like Kirk. In real battle the top people mostly stay in the command centers because they just might end up being shot by their own side otherwise. Such accidents have occurred but abandoning your station in time of battle isn't deemed an accident.

You ever read the Legacy of Aldenata books? Basically a story about Aliens sucking so they have to come to Earth to hire us to fight their wars for them. And then we do. Cause we're awesome. One guy even brings his 12g "street sweeper" shotgun to another planet with him, just to let the Aliens know what's up. One upping Hicks with his pump shotgun.

The battles of this story are illogical, even non sequitur. Like so many of these stories, it is cut shortas if episodic - episodes that do not materialise. Are these stories written by AI?
