Florida is a prehistoric coral reef peninsula that stretched 850 mies,and supposedly was under 90 feet of ocean water at that time.. It crossed the entrance bay to the Inland sea that is now the Mississippi valley region,all 350 miles of it. All things in their time....

That’s super unfortunate and unhealthy. All of that backed up sewage water plus mosquitoes its a recipe for major health problems. This is partly on bad city sewage maintenance. Had they cleaned out the sewage from debris then it wouldn’t have gotten this bad. But.. too little too late.

More housing, more concrete, more blacktop...where do you expect the water to go?? I live mid Fl open land, dirt roads and no flooding. It rains like heck up here too. Only flooding I see is in the parking lots of shopping areas. This is Florida it rains and right now I am happy to see the rain in my area.

People complaining about flooding, talk to your local government to see if more drainage can be put in, I always go to the local government first they will assess the problems.

Too bad the States are not better connected with infrastructure. A system of pumps and water pipelines could bring all this fresh water to the drought-ridden SouthWest and store it there for when it is needed.

Are you kidding? That's 2000 miles (3,200 km) away. It's on the other side of a continent. Besides the Southwest got plenty of precipitation last winter which translates to snow melt. So much that Lake Tulare reformed. However the egghead Trumpers are pumping that out because they think growing beef is some good idea.
