Wow a movie that has police show up in the middle of a post-apocalyptic movie that 1 didn't turn evil. 2 didn't all die or sacrifice themselves. What a twist.
You ever notice how in movies like this, people will be surviving just fine, until the main characters come along and get everyone killed, like oops. And then go on to totally wreck the next group of people. And then they'll be mad when they don't understand why people just want to be left TF alone.
Good point. Why does i always happen that way. Why can t the protegonists come in when the side characters are dealing with a big problem and then work to solve that problem while learning some new, useful things as they solve the side character'sproblems? It happen this way in video games.
Yeah I always wonder how every other survivor feels after the one obvious hideout is burned down by a group of randos. Like imagine some other group having their own movie happening, they’re just barely surviving, maybe not all of them made it, but finally they reached the apartment building with the lights. Then suddenly it goes up in flames…
I think that’s why I like anime in this genre better, usually the MCs themselves don’t wreck everything, they just happen to arrive right before a disaster.
If I remember correctly Shawn killed the last alien cause the alien had rotating chains around them and the piece he threw got caught and caused the whole mechanism to jam and explode.
I haven't seen the actual film, but overall seems like a decent story. I mean everyone appears to have used their brains, making relatively sensible observations and decisions. I quite dig the idea of having the 'monster' be invisible aliens which are detected via flickering lights and other electronics.
I don’t think they would have went off to save the guy who stole their app idea then had guard duty…but left with their gun without telling any of them.
Believe me they would. I always ask myself "how stupid am I" each time I help out someone who's betrayed me multiple times before, knowing exactly they'll betray me again with every chance they get.😢
I’m surprised that once they figured out the glass thing, they didn’t carry around any glass they could find, like the table. Clearly hiding works since the aliens move on pretty quickly, and glass hides you perfectly. The one girl near the end even hides in a bus because it’s covered in windows. Not to mention it’s something other humans can see, so they know you’re there.
Carrying around large glass would be more trouble than it’s worth. It’d need to be large enough for one and that would be heavy and it only covers whichever front they’re facing. So if it’s a single alien they’re facing it’d be fine, but anymore than that would be problematic . It will also interfere with their best tactic so far in keeping alive, running away.
theyre invisible when behind glass, the bus isnt all glass. its got more metal than glass. so its very see through for the aliens. and carrying a pane of glass isnt as easy as you think. its highly impractical
@@ruekurei88 Depends on the item. Some things with glass are surprisingly light. And running away notably often leads to _someone_ being caught and unalived. Glass hides you completely, running away is highly risky, as the aliens are invisible and you could end up running directly into one
RU-vid immediately suggested me another channel with similar recaps, but I really like the music and the monotone reading of the guy so I'll stick with this one. Please never change!
I remember watching few scenes of this film especially the one where the duo checked the police car and the dog got disintegrated. Kinda mesmerized me.
@@DeathnoteBB please do tell me how being able to use a computer and reading a software dev blog are mutually inclusive. also I'd be interested to hear about all the software dev blogs you surely read.
Funny , I actually had a dream where some type of Aliens where searching the neighborhood for us but knew they could see through everything and no place to hide.
This is one of those movies where the plot execution wasn't great but the premise is awesome. I have been longing for a sequel since the time I watched it on cable tv.
@0:52 I think that phone stopped working because its a palm treo 600 from 2003 and palm stopped making batteries for the thing in 2006. (film is set in 2011)
they figure out that the monsters cant see through isolating materials like glass and yet they never tried taking those glass boxes and carry them around with them
Been hearing ads of this film in radio when I was in high school. Eventually watched it; pretty good for a non-Hollywood movie Though it has the movie trope (that plagues most movies) of having the side characters killed off by the main ones just by interacting with them
😮🙏 OMG! I just checked this movie : The Darkest Hour ( 2011 ) & Darkest Hour ( 2017 , starring Gary Oldman as Sir Winston Churchill during WWII ) on Tuesday / 20thFeb2024 , same day as this movie recap being share in RU-vid! Just a coincidence perhaps?! p.s. These two movies shared the same name & the only difference is the extra " The " in the title of the 2011 movie! 😮🙏
We all want to think that alien invasions will look like "Independence Day" but really it will more than likely be closer to the "Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy" first we are here, then "poof", we don't exist.
Would like to see encounter between this alien and the entities from the movie Spectral, both composed of pure energy & invisible . One emits extreme heat, capable of turning people into ash, while the other emanates extreme cold, instantly freezing anything it touches to death.
Even today many people wouldn't see the problem with that. Our education system is a joke. Everyone should know that by grade 7 - including the writers.
6:58 The irony that they're in a faraday cage to block electromagnetic radiation but can still use the radio. Who wrote this.... 7:01 Also, submarines aren't that big. They have a limited capacity for general passengers.
Even outside the movie, people don't understand what should have been taught by grade 7 science - that light and x-rays and radio waves are all EM radiation - and it speaks to the failure of our education system.
идеален шуплив проводник. = Во моментото кога струите ќе се прераспределат при што се поништува полето во внатрешноста струите престануваат со својот тек.
Every film like this humans figure out a silly or oddly specific super weakness in the threat through the power of just because haha. Like hours into the invasion some guy has them all figured out just because plot. In real life we would all be screwed and an invading force wouldnt be cartoonishly armed or defeated because of the power of the human heart and love
