@@Niever I said what I said because that is the entity portrayed in the movie. I said nothing about other governments because they're not major parts of this movie. So stop your complaining.
Doesn't bother me. I'm full blooded Country boy with all the survival skills I need. City folk like to make fun of us, but we're the ones who can actually survive comfortably without stores and processed foods. The people in the cities will be killing each other over a can of corn 😂. Meanwhile, I'll be sitting on the riverbank with a fishing pole in my hand, enjoying the sounds of nature. Obviously, I'll be armed to the teeth, though. I expect the hordes of city slicker zombies to be spilling out of their cities eventually. And if things get really, really bad, cannibalism wouldn't be a bad idea. You just have to mix the meat of humans and animals both, that way you don't know which is which. They say it tastes like pork lol. But that won't have to happen. There's plenty of fish in the rivers, lakes, and ponds.
@user-dv7tk9wj4v Send a city boy out into the forest in the dead of winter. See how long he lasts. It seems to me that you're underestimating the severity of what could happen. Do you seriously think it'll be as easy as walking down the street to the grocery store? City dwellers have a major flaw. They have everything they need in order to survive all around them..... until they don't. If you turn the power off in any big city, pandemonium will quickly set in. No one will know what to do. City dwellers do not have adequate survival skills. Reality will bite ya.
Robot: *does literally nothing* Army: "Let's destroy it" Robot: *fights back* Army: "What should we do?!" Robot: *back to doing nothing* Army: "Mhm yes let's put it in a big box" Robot: *still does nothing* Army: "You know what? Let's study that thing." Robot: *scream internally* Army: "Our tools break." Robot: "You know what? Screw your race and your entire planet." Army: "Huh... Wanna make peace?" Robot nanoswarm: "No."
The nano bots eat all the soldiers and structures in a instant, but then the main characters only get "infected" by it while being eaten slowly so they can be saved, and not let forget the soldier inside the facility was consumed from the inside out quite fast even wearing protective suit, with no chance of survival....plot armor and plot convenience at its fullest.
Probably aside from plot holes its all about quantity. Yet thing i really dont understand is why bugs didnt recognized Klaatu being alien? No matter would he save people and humanity or not he was in grave danger just to get to sphere
In the Aliens franchise the Engineers have the same perception of Earth seeing us as a failed species which needs to be wiped clean and start over again
I hate that concept. We are not a failed species. We are simply growing and trying to fault and say we aren't worth it for doing things on our path of growth that likely all things a sapient species experience at some point. Stop own species hate.
I remember distinctly when I was about 9 years old, I had nightmares for a whole straight month due to the bug scenes. I think I got my insectophobia from this movie :(
You human genocide enthusiasts are a weird bunch. Literally the most, statistically, good time to be alive. Yet you guys walk around wanting to wipe out those members of your species that you disagree with. Guess Hitler's example really had an effect on your approach to dealing with your frustrations regarding other people
I found it humorous when its stated that the alien is a threat to humanity, when of course, its not humanity but the US that is threatened. When the world is threatened with disaster, and military officials and bureaucrats state as such, they're only really speaking about themselves and the world as it relates to them.
That’s cause America is the single most important country on the planet. Canada has protests and nobody cares. America has protests and the stock market tanks. It’s a joke.
It means they're afraid of losing control over everyone. They only feel good about their sorry selves when they think they have "power" by getting away with breaking laws they wrote and by telling everyone else what to do and do nothing to help them. US is a joke of a country, it's a corporation employed by essentially modern day slaves too fkn stupid to realize they're slaves, seen as nothing else other than a method to generate more and more dollars for a few while the slaves themselves get fk all
This was one of the first Sci-fi movies I ever saw & had it etched ik my mind. Thank you for refreshing it. One of the best sci-fi movies & Keanu Reeves is simply impeccable in it.
Just several corrections here 1) In movie its implied that EMP surge which destroed bugs also destroyed all human tech but, its quite silly. Electricity is out, right, but its always can be restored. Damage is done, but humanity isnt returning to middle age 2) Those bugs its seems only destroyed "unnatural" materials like bare metal or concrete and humans. Looks like animals or stone isnt affected by them.
@@Vednier the animals and plants & trees are "innocent". Why would they gobble them up? Especially with the plants since those things basically make the Earth habitable. Plus these are supposed to be very high tech aliens that can be classified as "gods" (with a lower "G") so coding something like "not including plants and lower life forms" isn't that difficult. As for the EMP thing, yeah, that can be repaired but it would be hard to do so especially since *EVERY* tech in the world is dead now. It would be very difficult to get parts and other stuff that's needed to actually turn the lights back on especially in this case that it's on a global scale. So yeah, give or take it might take 5 to 10 years to actually get things going properly again. The shear difficulty of having the tech return and the knowledge that there are a bunch of aliens who can literally destroy humanity in the blink of an eye that are observing us should at least be enough reason for the world to at least do better. Another scenario would be that the bugs were reprogrammed to target tech basically making any and all tech useless whether it be the tech that got shutdown or newer tech that someone might invent.
@@ianturpin7693 Good question, actually, maybe as precaution? Or to study? Maybe its for case if humans decide "no one take our planet" and start nuclear war (if its still possible). Klaatu said there is not many planets rich with life - its kinda strange idea to wipe it completely then.
The original story Farewell To The Master was... quite unusual. The original movie was very good. This flick is... hardy bearable. Despite Connelly and Reeves.
Until you realize it's more of a sequel. I guess you missed the point in the original black and white movie that the alien was there to warn them if they didn't change they'd be destroyed. The new one the alien is there to destroy because humanity didn't change.
@@nox7796if?!?! They’ve been here for quite some time lol…. The real question is why are they now so easily admitting it, after spending decades denying it, and saying anyone that believed it was a conspiracy theorist….
Humanity hasn't been around long enough for some advanced civilization to care enough to watch and study us. We have been here for such a miniscule amount of time in the grand scheme of things.
But these are 2 different things. The time on universal scale is one thing, live beings perception of time (and life span) is another completely different thing.
That doesn't really matter. If the aliens had tech that could perform comprable tasks but with no negative byproducts they should have just provided it, rather they bring intergalactic Karens and just wiping out humanity.
*Alien steps out of ship* *Get's immediately gunned down* I swear aliens in real life actively avoid Earth, won't even fly close to our planet. Passing through our solar systems is the galaxy's equivalent of driving through the most dangerous neighborhood alone, at night, in a fancy car.
Only when they're dumb holywood alien. If they have access to tech even half a century more advanced than ours, they could walk in a deluge of bullet without a sweat
@@SOULAANI_ Nukes produce EMPs, and an EMP is what stopped the swarm of nano robot. Seems klaatu's species have issues with standardised tech. Their ship are pretty much untouchable by our tech, their nanoswarm can be deactivated with something we have, and their bio "spacesuits" can be pierced with mere bullets.
This movie makes no sense... So they observe humans for thousands of years to get to the decision of elimination, and then after 3 hugs they decide to just abort it? Nah...
Regina and peaceful negotiations? HAHAHA Look at her face .... In other films, there's a such protocol like "Do not open fire until fire upon". However still good films with Keanu!
@@diogo21ist Yea, and it's lke _the_ classic scifi movie .. as in: a 1950s classic. The only older scifi classic I know of is Metropolis from the 1920s.
Fiar enough. It's like when rodents invade your home. You may allow some nonesense for the sake of them, but eventually, it becomes too much, and you must have basically an intervention
@@painandsuffer But the question is.... Can he Cure Human Nature? do not forget we as a species are still individualistic so what's stopping others to cause more damage?
@@ronanchristiana.belleza9270 Yes, humans are destructive race. I would say eventually, AI, AGI, ASI will become Cosmic AI/God AI. Solutions by Absolute. But hypothetical fiction, or is it.. One thing about science fiction is that it doesn't stay science fiction for long..
@@ronanchristiana.belleza9270 my video on AI... Geordie Rose founder of D-Wave, Kinderd A.I and Sanctuary A.I.. Awesome speech. I made them 2mins long. Trust me, what he says gives you something to think about, and you will see what I mean.
@@artimuos903 Klaatu never really cared about the environment. Because if he did the nanobots would be used to clean up pollutions, while also providing the necessary technologies so that the humans would not need to harm the environment.
The inevitable strong single mother, the kid with issues, shes such a girl boss that she is top of her game, but cant follow simple rules like leaving the cell phone. She gets to almost meet the alien and they all live happily ever after, but a professional, trained military man is suddenly a dumb butter fingers with a gun. Cos hmph....MEN! What are ya gonna do? Am i right?! Dumb man triggers a firefight with aliens who now mo longer trust mankind. I'm 3 minutes in and all the cliches are present and already ticking me off!
"You are one to speak! You possessed an innocent mountain climber's body killing him!" "How did you know? Uh... I mean..." *Leaves planet way before the nanobugs attack*
Oh so the aliens have nothing better to do in their lives than to judge what we do on OUR planet that is of no concern to them. Sounds like the alien needs to go touch intergalactic grass
Probably one of the reason why aliens havent make any contact with us even though we been trying to, is due to this we immediately assume that extraterrestrial life is hostile to we go pissing them off.
