Most sideports are extremely easy to start and in particular the Mills. An ideal engine to learn how to tune the Ic compression engine.

Mills 1-3 and the Mills 75s were very popular with scale freeflite modelers, and probably still are today. Beautiful engines. I have never owned a 1-3 but I did have three Mills 75s. I wish I still had them. Thanks Mark.

Thank for the comment, I am really keen to get this in a vintage plane, 2 ch RC, would be great to see it in the sky! Don't have a .75, but would love to get one at some point 😀

@@MarkRobinson555 now you are talking. Vintage is my kind of modelling now. Nice and slow and forgiving. Thanks again Mark, I always enjoy your videos.

Excellent! I just did the same for a .35 McCoy control-line engine that was last run in 1959

@@MarkRobinson555 mine (0.75) is mounted on a Mills Beam (Boddington design). Video on my YT channel. It exist the Mills Bomb which is a enlarged version for the 1.3 Mills (check outerzone). Or maybe a Tomboy senior is suitable ?

Is that going in a vintage plane? I always just played with compression when tuning only rarely touched the fuel needle.

hello, please tell me how it works does he have a spark plug?and what kind of diesel fuel can be used, thank you.
@MarkRobinson555
@MarkRobinson555 Год назад
There is no spark or glow plug, they are compression ignition engines, so the compression of the fuel causes combustion. The fuel is a special diesel, comprising either, oil and paraffin. Hope that helps 😀
