Man it was heartbreaking, suddenly realizing who was the Interviewer. I didn't think of it, at first, b/c I don't typically watch EXTRA. It took me til after, for it to REALLY HIT ME and for it, to sink in, that this was Ms. Cheslie. AND knowing how deeply she was struggling with depression and talking about this sad episode, about death and her hidden struggle with suicidal thoughts and not seeing the end of This Is Us, which I know is so minor, so small, compared to the loss of those closest to her and whom she left behind!!! I can't help but wonder, what was going on in her, thjs deep inner turmoil. Especially b/c this interview happened, not too long ago. Yes, R.I.P. Ms. Cheslie. May her family and esp her mom find comfort!!!! Such a tragedy. A reminder, that someone can appear happy, and like they have it altogether, and we ALL must do better. It's not about guilt, but awareness and like I said, it's a reminder.

Have to say, that was a heavy and hard episode!!! HOWEVR, it was done surprisingly VERY WELL, the Eulogy he ended up giving, was palpaple!!! It sounds weird to say it was surprisingly done VERY WELL, seeing as they all are!!! BUT...there was specific nuances and subtleties, and wasn't sure how it would end, til the funeral, esp when his wife Becca and 3 kids show up!!! His personal struggle with regret. It was too hard for me to watch the episode again, b/c of my Dad passing away. My home growing up certainly wasn't like Jack's, however, there was a certain pain that it touched that was hard and at some level connected with me, that hasn't been totally resolved, when there are things that weren't safe in my home growing up. AND his last line, killed me, when he walks away into the living room and Becca comes to him. AND suddenly he says, "I don't have a mom anymore." AND starts to sob, I couldn't help but connect with that deep grief, with my own Dad having away passed away suddenly. I KNOW where I was privileged deeply. My Dad was a loving, family man, hard worker, and kind. BUT it makes grateful, however I feel the loss, in a more acute and deep and am not sure how to really articulate the depth!!!!
