I actually use my finish/brad nailers more than anything Rodney. This will be my new go to nailer for most of my projects no. Pin is great for smaller trim/molding

I agree with everything you said. Incredible gun, I've put about 30,000 plus nails through this gun, not one issue. Absolutely worth every penny. And I scored a free battery the week I bought it, a 5.0. Say goodbye to the compressor and hoses with this gun. Highly recommended.

Look, I have both the 15G and Gen 1 Brad Nailer. The 15G Finish Nailer is freaking awesome! I fixed my whole fence with it, and used it to build my work bench and it worked flawlessly. The 18G Brad Nailer is just.......ok. Yes, it has too much recoil for a Brad Nailer. And yes, don’t use it on a work piece you need to look flawless. The Gen 1, based on that and its $249 bare tool price tag, makes it not worth it. And yes, I wish I could trade mine in and pay the difference for this Gen 2 but that’s not gonna happen. Instead I use my Dewalt 18G Brad Nailer now that is an awesome tool, Dewalt did a great job there. Don’t know if you tried out the Dewalt if anybody has used both how does it compare? Thanks TRZ!

We have the DeWalt 18g on our crew it is a good working gun. I brought in my Milwaukee gen 2 to test it for a few months to put it through the paces of heavy use. Well that was last November. Nobody touches the DeWalt anymore they all want to use the Milwaukee. I'm not dissing the DeWalt. But the gen 2 is simply awesome. No ramp up, not one issue after approx 30 to 35,000 nails. The boss is considering switching platforms to have a few in each van. Incredible gun. The LED light is a great feature and powerful. I can nail off a room of base in complete darkness. No more compressor or hoses to lug around. Love it.

I purchased this milwaukee brad nailer over the Dewalt because of ergo and no Rev-up. I only used nuematic nailer before this. I have to say I love this Brad nailer. Hi TRZ, I still have my dewalt brad nailer but i had to buy this new milwaukee brad nailer. The gen2 milwaukee is nice and quite. The rubber tip I'm still getting use to. It does flex if you push hard on it. I do like the tip on the dewalt a little better. Plus on the dewalt if you lose the plastic tip you can still use the nailer. The milwaukee you can't. Man, if dewalt can change that rev up motor on their cordless nailer like milwaukee then it will be sweet. Plus make it less bulky but light. Oh man, that will be a serious game changer. I like the the dewalt 15g style way better then the milwaukee. Milwaukee needs to redesign the 15g & 16g soon. Thanks for the video buddy..

Yeah bro, I had to get used to the tip as well. I haven't used the dewalt brad, but I do have the framer. I like it but its bulky and sounds like a turbo charger after every shot fired lol. Thanks for the feedback Michael!

Does this Gen II also have the thermal heat protection on it? I saw another video where someone compared the Ryobi P320 (which I have had for quite some time) to the Gen I Milwaukee. The Ryobi ran over 1100 nails and never stopped. The Gen I hit about 50 or 100 nails and stopped. It was when the Milwaukee was set in rapid fire more when this happened. The other issue was the angle of the Milwaukee. It was not sinking the nails on some angles that I feel it absolutely should and the Ryobi did.

Milwaukee had nailed it with their gen 2. 4 years ago, it was their gen 1, Dewalt or Ryobi. I chose Ryobi and Dewalt then. I could not stand Dewalt. It has to rev up the flywheel. so I sold both 15 gauge and 21 degree from Dewalt. And I got the gen 2 framing and 15 gauge finishing nailers. I kept the 18 gauge Ryobi, cause it became my favorite. I have a question for you guys if you even read. I stopped using galvanized iron nails for both indoor and outdoor and started using nothing but stain steel nails. What could be a possible con (besides the price, but it is my house. And I don't care about the cost as I am using LVL and steel beam for my house.)?

Hi Drew. Depends what tools you are talking about as some do better than others with certain tools. I love the Dewalt Flexvolt line and their saws, but Milwaukee is basically running the game right now. Tons up upgrades on their tools and some great stuff coming out from them. I don't have a dog in this fight and I usually don't pick a favorite with tool companies, but they are doing so amazing things.

Another great video Clint !!! This might be a silly/dumb question, but is there a big difference in the 16 and 18 ga nailers? The uses for each one?? Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and videos, Rodney
@mikez4132
@mikez4132 4 года назад
The lower the number the thicker the brad nail. 18ga is a thinner nail than a regular finish nail. Brad nails are now very popular for trim work (baseboard/crown moulding/door/window casing and esp very thin or small trim) because they have a small head that is easy to fill for painting/staining and are still very strong. Also, they are less likely to split materials they are holding. They can be used for tacking things in place while wood glue dries before screwing or using heavier nails. A lot of uses really. Finish nails (16ga for example) are still used for a lot of the same applications but in heavier/harder wood, bigger casings, door jambs... more weight bearing is possible but more finish work is required.
@ToolReviewZone
@ToolReviewZone 4 года назад
I never really noticed a difference Rodney. The higher the number the thinner the nail, so just a smaller hole.
