I just purchased this fan and like many other customers there’s a defect in this fan where it shuts off randomly when it’s on the highest setting. Also when it’s on the highest setting, it sounds like some bearings are loose or that the motor is struggling in some kind of way. There is a good reason why this fan only has a one-year warranty. If you’re gonna use it occasionally for camping or when the power goes out it’ll probably last you 20 years but I need to use this on my job site all summer long as well as when I’m trying to dry drywall mud or paint quickly, and based off of the other contractors this is not a good choice. I really wanted this to work. I love the size but I’ve learned after spending thousands of dollars on Milwaukee tools do not buy anything that is not FUEL if you are a contractor or tradesmen

Here’s the deal, whenever we have storms in my area we lose power. I cannot sleep at night without a fan and or air-conditioning. This fan is a lifesaver for nights when the power is out. Run time is to be determined because I just bought it as soon as the power went out but I’ve been meaning to get one for years. I’m already into the Milwaukee ecosystem so it made sense to spend the 80 bucks for the fan, tool only to add to my collection. Again when the powers out, it’s a lifesaver for sleeping at night

It most definitely puts out the most airflow among rigid Ryobi and DeWalt for sure on high. The down side is there's only one obvious mounting option and that's the holes on the bottom for screws. Do not be fooled by the claims that DeWalt blows more air. It claims 500 CFM but DeWalt must be using a different meter to measure it. I own all the fans and Milwaukee blows them away with airflow and that's why it's so loud. The faster a blade spins, the louder it gets and it puts out more air. That's why I say don't be fooled by DeWalt because they claim it's one of the quietest but blows 500 CFM. Now when it comes to features DeWalt takes the gold

@johnboyjr21

Ok you measured the airspeed which is obviously biased towards a small fan but. Not that it matters much but factor in the volume and density of the air it's moving and you get cfm which is a more useful number

You’re holding the meter much closer to the m18 and the box fan needs a reducer to use that meter effectively.
@mikemorgan5015
@mikemorgan5015 5 лет назад
All those read is air speed not volume. Yes the velocity is higher, but the fan area is much smaller. The box fan(though they suck nowadays) is certainly moving more air, albeit at a lower speed. I have two of the Milwaukee fans and love them. You are spot on about them being loud. I usually run it on low though. They really come in handy to help quick thaw frozen meat or cool down a pot of soup to put in the fridge. But for camping and remote work sites they can't be beat. Other brands are out their, but it's all about battery platform. I AM considering getting some of those battery adapters to be able to use my M18 batteries with dewalt or other brand that has a cool tool that isn't in the Milwaukee line. Take a valium and keep up the good work.

I’ve bought 2 over the past 3 years. It takes a 12.0 to run for 8 hours on high speed. And both fans, from riding in my truck, has screws bouncing around in the motor housing (motor mount screws) and the only way to get to them is to pull the plastic fan blade which takes a special tool I can’t seem to source…

Jasper Marz It would be an “Ideal” thing for a van! Vans have larger rooms, there’s other option actually and cost WAY less brand names, it’s the 12v plug in car fan! I bought it once from Walmart for my SUV when the a/c went down, it really blows good & has oscillating knob, u could clip it anywhere, or even mount it on dashboard.

I’m in the process of switching from Ridgid to Milwaukee. I’m a little disappointed that Milwaukee’s fan is underpowered compared to Ridgid and Dewalt. Milwaukee does have another jobsite fan, but It lacks an AC port unfortunately. Hopefully they come out with a better option.

Underpowered you are crazy I live in Florida I'm a electrician that does commercial construction ie hospitals airports and I've had this fan for 4 years and I run a 5.0 battery 10 hours a day on speed 1 there's no ac in the building I'm working on now and all the windows are in except for where the materials come through this fan does the job at keeping me cool while I work on a 8 foot ladder

@electricianbytrade6013 3 года назад
Not quite understanding your issue. They all slide in but don’t work? Or they won’t latch in? Or what’s going on? I can tell you that some tools have a need for additional tap points on the batteries to work. It’s possible that some of your batteries have gunk in those terminals. I would examine them all carefully.
