I had all Makita boxes which were garbage! So I bought the Packout drawers and yes they are good but they are just too big. Always left them in the van and just threw the tool in a bag. Sold them and bought all Festool and so far love it
Yes the Makita is awful. Used to hurt my fingers trying to open mine. The pack out is very bulky and takes up loads of space. What I did is put my most common everyday tools in there. This then gets left on the job. Festool systainers draws stay in the van as they take up less space 👍
You don't happen to know which Systainer (or Packout) will fit a Milwaukee M18 Deep cut portable bandsaw the best do you? I have measured it and one of these days I need to sift through and figure this out but boy would I love to find someone who already did all the scheming who just knows! haha
they are both great in their own ways but for me it is Festool for the win. I am a cabinet installer and I love the precision of Festool, I like the compactness and lite weight of the festool sustainers and at this point they aren't much more expensive than Milwaki or Dewalt pack out stuff so yeah, I prefer the Festool system. I do use a wide variety of tools but my precision stuff is all Festool and I think they are worth every penny spent. The track saw was an absolute game changer for me that started my love for the brand.
I agree Festool for the win for me also. The pack out way to bulky when loaded with tools. Mine is only used for rip out stages of the job. It’s left on site so it’s not moved around. Festool on the other hand is in another league. It’s so compact much easier to move about and takes up way less floor space. Van space is limited also so I can pack more Festool also. My love started with plunge saw also and the sys dust extraction by Festool. Nothing beats these. As you said you pay for what you get. Milwaukee tools are awesome mind as they are robust. I’m the same as you I run all makes and buy the best of all makes they all have pros and cons. The most tool failure I’ve had is Makita they just don’t last. 👍😄
For your nailer, they have a cabinet box that the front flips up and slide's in or get a top open box and place it on the top of the drawers. Wish we had the black option here in the US.

They certainly are. I only use my pack out to drop on job. They stay on that job then moved to another. My Festool stays in the van all nice and tidy. Yes they are very bulky and take up much more space 👍
The problem with the pack out and other boxes like it is there already too heavy and once you put tools in them they're oh my God heavy. I use the tstack because they're smaller and don't weigh too much. The systainer doesn't have big enough drawers to put power tools. None of these systems seem to want to give you drawer depth size. Looking forward to what festool brings out
Yes correct the pack out is really bulky and takes up loads of space in van and on job site. I will say they will take a knock mind and feel like they will last for years. Don’t know about my back mind 🤣👍😄
Both systems are great, but all depends on type of work you do. I Install custom millwork that involves constant movement between jobsites, on jobsite between floors and rooms. I got Packout as their way more durable and heavy duty. But durability has price. WEIGHT!!! They are heavy even empty. Systainers, on the other hand, much lighter.
Hi yes that’s the exact reason I bought them for the durability. They are used on jobs I’m ripping out then the Festool comes off n on second fix finishing off the job. 👍
I think the pack outs in the states are all red. If they had black, I might consider them for the drawers and maybe some shelves. Red? I have no desire to look like a NASCAR team drunk on Red Bull and vodka while snorting coke.
They are Red in the states. I’ve seen them not a fan to be honest. I think they should offer other options if possible so customers can decide what colour they want 👍
