Box cars for beer. In 1962 I had a summer job with Bud on the north side of Chicago unloading boxcars. Small car held about 1048 cases I think and a big car 1296 about. Two guys to a car with a lift truck guy picking up pallets. In the afternoon we would pack the cars with cases of empties for recylcying. Once in a while we would get a car that held both barrels and cases. First thing we would do in drop a case of cold bottles {no cans in those days} and say, oh shit breakers, and pop a few. No twist open then, everybody carried a church key. good times. At lunch there were big coolers of 7 oz. shorties and you could have as many as you could handle free. Nobody got drunk because it was the best job ever. We were making about $7 an hour which was scads of money in 1962 Never happen in todays world but it's true story.
