A walk through Downtown Milwaukie, Oregon in March 2020. Milwaukie is small city bordering Southeast Portland. They recently finished building some apartments on Main and rebuilt the Ledding Library.
It has its own highschool, hospital, alot of industrial and two highways running through the city: 224 and 99E.

The scene at 11:20 showing the bank building brought back memories. In the early 60s a Safeway store stood at that corner (later replaced by a much larger store a few blocks north, adjacent to the Ledding Library). In 1968, shortly before he was assassinated, Bobby Kennedy gave a stump speech from a podium set up in the middle of that intersection. The nuns at the local parochial school excused us kids early so we could walk downtown to take in Kennedy's speech. Us boys ran alongside his open-air limo as he arrived, and several of us managed to shake his hand. This video really jogged my memory of growing up in Milwaukie.

I am serving in the U.S military overseas, and I lived in Milwaukie (MHS class of 2004). My parents moved away for work while I was in Basic Training so I visited them instead of going back. I haven't been back in almost 15yrs! I needed to see this! So much has changed and so much is the same. I remember when those townhouses were an empty Safeway grocery store parking lot. I used to walk across it to go to Nelson's. Is Chopsticks Express still there?

Thanks and major changes happened in the last few years like the apartments and the remodeling of the library. Chopsticks Express, if it was name of the Teriyaki place across the street from the bank has been gone for around a year?

Is this town free of coronavirus? No social distancing? Lot of people still walking and sitting around like nothing happened, business as usual, lot of traffic, lot of cars in parking spaces....and this was a vlog of March 2x, 2020?
