aliasdoe007 I've heard that her husband is quite old like he's close to 50 years old. Mee is only 24 years old. He is probably one of her sponsor here actually. I'm not too sure on the information as I'm hearing this and that. What I'm surprised was that she came just early last year, and now she's married to an old guy. People are getting tons of different reactions actually. lol! But as long she is okay with the marriage and such, I'm fine with that as well. I didn't think she'll marry soon enough. But still, she can still be a great role model. I will still support her. I just hope she doesn't stop singing because I know she can sing well, and be a great speaker.

HmoobTebChaws In Hmong culture, overall, the norm is that once a girl (young lady) is married, she practically disappears from (and loses) the public spotlight, especially if she is/was a well-known Hmong artist, vim Hmoob ntseeg/nshai tias yog cia nws (tus poj niam nod) tawm rooj ces yuav muaj lus taug lus xaiv (plaub ntug/marital insecurities). We Hmong, as a whole, am still sensitive to this (tus txiv siab me heev), treating it as an unacceptable/intolerable social taboo. Tsis tas lid xwb, thaum twg ib tug ntxhais uas muaj txuj ci (singer, actor, performer/artist), yuav txiv lawm ces Hmoob tsis saib nws tseem ceeb lawm. (Hmong no longer supports, or values her artistic talent anymore, in the same manner.) Some examples are Maiv Moua (early 90s), Tsab Mim Xyooj (late 90s), and Ashley Thao (early 2000s) that I know of. (Where are they now? Married, and gone from the public eye.)

What you said is right on point and so true. That usually happened within the Hmong communities. I think its just the younger generation (or those that are exposed to western ideologies) that don't seem to care about. When one talented Hmong woman gets married, they are really no longer appear in the public eye. I was just thinking that since Mee is from China where they still believe in the Hmong ideologies (Hmong way of thinking), perhaps she does wanted to get marry at a good age too because in the culture most tend to get marry at a young age and start baring children already. I just hope that she still continues to sing because people just became more aware of her, and suddenly she got married already... I think people would want to see more from her. Well, that's what I think, but we'll see if her husband will support her singing career still. I'm just thinking that way because of her husband was one of the sponsor, and brought her to promote her, and her music, so maybe he'll still support her singing career. One of my friend said that she might be releasing a new album this year too, but who knows what's going to happen.
