Mime-Dance by Noriko Yamamoto: "Internment Camp" 

I created this piece for the 75th anniversary of the internment of Japanese Canadians (1942-1949) during WW2. It was performed at the Momiji Seniors Centre in Toronto in November 2017.
I learned about this dark and true story from Japanese Canadians like my parents-in-law and from a visit to The Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre in New Denver, British Columbia. Along with this information, I used my imagination to create a story about this Canadian experience.
This particular video is from a performance held at my Fading Memories show in Ginza, Tokyo in March 2024.
