this was 100% supposed to be Kairi but I fully expect Nomura to turn it the unused design and idea for the Nameless Star

That datamine travel poster has MAJOR implications,

At the end of the 'story before kingdom hearts 3' ultimania, it goes through and explains all of the secret endings throughout the game. For another side, another story it quotes, "The man in the black coat (Roxas) wields two Keyblades. The silver haired man facing him (Riku) removes his blindfold in the midst of a meteor shower. Countless words flow across the screen, starting with Roxas's question, and then you see a girl on a beach..." To me this is very suspicious because in this explanation it tells you who the two other characters are, but not the girl. It specifically leaves out the name of the girl. Which is very mysterious and almost leads me to believe that it isn't Kairi or else it would say so.

For so long I've wanted a reveal that Destiny Islands are somehow connected to Besaid in FFX, but maybe this will be even better!

The only argument I'd have is in regards to the Destiny Islands portion is that it is confirmed to be in the realm of light (as when you rescue Aqua they point that out specifically) but that doesn't deny the possibility of another DI existing within unreality. After all,, a sleeping version of Traverse Town exists separately from the one that refuges those that lost their world. Same with Yen Sid's Tower. This to me implies that multiple versions of a world can exist.

The Landi Lodge did a whole Podcast about this theory a year ago, I think you would enjoy hearing his thoughts

That's probably beta KH2 Kairi, but I fully expect both Yozora AND the Nameless Star to have connections to both Sora and Kairi respectively just as many other major characters like Roxas, Xion, Namine, and Ven do. While the Nameless Star in the Verum Rex teaser trailer has some resemblance to Stella, I don't think it's a coincidence that she has dark reddish hair like Kairi instead of being a blonde.

Another side, another story I feel like was in reference to Sora and Roxas being two sides of the same person. That scene at the beach, in my mind, has always been a foreshadowing of the end of KH2. We are seeing Sora and Riku return to Destiney ilIslands from Kairi's perspective, in the secret movie at the end of KH1. ❤

Destiny Islands is one of the few Between worlds we know of. Famously, it's sands touch seas shared by the Realm of Darkness. maybe its skies touch another realm? I know it's a dream but it can make you see Sora falling from the skies in the openings differently.

It would be interesting to see what Nomura has in store for us.

I know Nomura plans the story years ahead and I also know Nomura sometimes plans things as he goes, but to say and think that that girl is the nameless star seems like a stretch to me. I wouldn’t be upset though if it became cannon to the overall arc. Regardless, KH4 is going to be hype

What if the other world is a direct parallel to the kingdom hearts one but every world is the opposite. Like their destiny islands is a tropical hotspot, while everyone in the kingdom hearts world sees them as small islands wanting to leave

I hope that KH4 has a deep cast of characters that we can build a relationship with because I thought that the KH3 list was ok but no depth regarding them except for Sora and Riku

I still feel that girl is simply Kairi, you can see the reddish brown where the light exposes the dark hair. Now, regarding the datamine revealing a Destiny Islands poster as a Travel destination, I think that's to show how much of a mirror world Quadratum is. Now, it is possible that the Nameless Star might have experienced something like Destiny Islands. However, I'm betting on her arrival in the Final World to be more of the parallel, complete with a Dive to Heart.

Never forget that Nomura once said there's something he wanted to do in the series since day one, he never revealed what it was.

By the way, something a little random, but the Fabula Nova Crystallis lore was conceptualised back in 2004, with Nomura's input as well. And KH2's development started probably around 2002-2003... So, it's just a baseless hypothesis, but he coooooould be thinking about marrying KH and FF lore that early. You know, there was even a time when FF13 was considered to be a PS2 game... ... So, maybe he wanted to make "the other world" the FF universe back then, that didn't work, he reworked that into Somebodies / Nobodies dichotomy and now he's bringing the original concept back again. You know, that would explain the oddity that there are different "other sides" between KH2's world that never was and its nobodies and KH3's quadratum and its afterlife implications.

Something else to note; Sora and Yozora are natives to two polar opposite environments. City vs island. Population vs Seclusion

Maybe In Qoudratum Yozora Lived Another Life On The Other Side & Has His Own Story, I Love This Theory So Much, If Nomura Planed All This He Truly Is Playing 4D Chess With Us Fans.

I'm excited to see how they explore the other side and how they incorporate all of the other worlds we've visited, if we're even given new ones. Who knows, I'm stoked!

In CoM, twilight town comes from memories from the "other side of Sora's heart". I think that the kh1 teaser was talking about the other side of Sora's heart, not the other side of reality.

The quote is in reference to all 3 characters, so i think he's thinking/referring more to Roxas, who isn't really Sora. Kairi and Riku might be correct guesses, but at the time of KH1, the hooded figure wasn't Sora, and Roxas wasn't known yet. That's my interpretation, but it'd be cool if the Kairi bit turns into something else, in the same way that the initial KH2 secret ending isn't totally canon either.

I think it fits that since this is the world of "unreality", scrapped or forgotten ideas, as well as those from Nomura's other projects can be used here. This is Kingdom Hearts after all, the universe where fiction can be made into reality.

Oh damn, I’ve never considered this. If this is the case, then maybe the MoM could be Xehanorts mirror from Quadratum. This would also make sense why Xehanort is an anagram for “another” (without the X), which has never really been explained. 🤯

I think. nomura did have some concepts of what's happening now early on. But I don't believe that girl is stella. which is who this nameless girl is. and nomura if he had versus in mind I think he could've told her side in that game. but that hasn't happened now. and it has to be done in universe now and not even as herself, themselves. I still love that nomura is going with a story beat he's been building since like 2010 or longer. but it does seem like this is a lot of round about ways to get where characters needed to be. I believe his first timeline would've had the crossover first a quick adventure with noctis in versus 13 maybe for its 2nd game like normua wanted at a point for versus a 3 game story ark which was blown up and condensed many times. But I believe that all would've happened first. then KH3 which is why he said back in the end it depends on versus completion. And then they would came back to have a bigger grander scale battle for light vs darkness in what was KH3. but not we've had to use that moment, to go back and do the other thing he wants to do. And when we come back from that, I hope all our avatars from Key are brought back in and suddenly there's to much light in the world and darkness grows right away and a keyblade war is kicked off pretty suddenly.

I think you’re definitely onto some thing! With the travel poster, and the girls hair being brown! I get that at the time, it was a possible reimagining of older Kairi, but there’s a reason why her hair has never gotten that long.

I think Destiny Island may be a place in between but another reason for that billboard could also be that Sora and Yozora were technically dreaming their battle which could add some of their subconsciousness into the mix.

The first time I saw the Nameless Star, in her human form, I immediately thought of that trailer that has the long-haired girl running across the beach. Even though everyone tries to say it’s Kairi, but I’ve always felt like it isn’t Kairi, for one the hair is just not the correct color, she also looks a little older in her figure, like a 20-something instead of a 14 year old (in the design style of KH, specifically). Then there is also that 2002 interview you brought up where they basically said “I’m not supposed to say it’s not Kairi, buuuuut”. Now we have that datamined poster that practically confirmed that the islands can also exist in Unreality. Was it originally meant to be Kairi? Possibly. Especially since Nomura would’ve probably been working on the beginnings of Versus at the time, so he wouldn’t have been planning of using Stella’s design in that trailer at this time. But now since Nomura couldn’t use his original Versus ideas for FFXV, he outlive changed it from Kairi to the Nameless Star/Stella because we all know he’s wanting to revive Versus somehow (and we support him). I personally wouldn’t mind if this is how it ended up turning out, like a retcon, and if it does end up that way I hope people don’t get mad at Nomura for it. People pick on him for doing this when SO many writers retcon stuff allllll of the time. But I also feel like it’s possible that it was originally neither Kairi nor Stella, but someone else. Who? Man I dunno. I just had a nagging feeling that it’s never been Kairi in that hidden trailer. The Ultimania also states that the trailer has Riku, has Roxas, and then “a girl”. Why not just go ahead and confirm that it’s Kairi if that’s who it’s supposed to be? I’m really glad that you’re bringing this up again. It would be really cool if we got that exact scene again but it’s redesigned to fit into this new arc we are entering. Imagine a new KHIV trailer and it has that scene. It would be so cool because we are entering a new arc- a new side, a new story, see? ;D

I am only just seeing the end of Another Side Another Story. I thought it was just Roxas and Riku fighting. That girl was certainly supposed to be Kairi, but since Nomura never gave a direct quote on it, and since Kairi definitely looks different in KH 3 to what we see in that scene. I find it impossible to believe that Nomura had the whole unreality thing planned from start, but he certainly left enough tiny holes to make room for that idea. It's fun to theorize.

"Another side, another story" refers to Roxas as another side of Sora and his story during CoM and 358/2 days. It's just being repurposed for the new story as a "foreshadowing" even though it was already revealed as something else. The girl is probably an old "new" design of Kairi.

There’s also an old unused scene of the shores of darkness where we see Ansem the Wise and someone in an organization cloak shows up. This person is blonde with golden eyes and has the pointy boots. It can’t be Roxas because Roxas has the round boots and blue eyes. When Ansem asks their name name they respond with “My name is…” and it cuts to a dark screen and it says “the master of the keyblade” Also note how Demyx has blue eyes in most of KH but in 3 he has gold eyes. Demyx is Master of Masters, change my mind. Been my theory since I saw a trailer with golden eyed Demyx before kh3 released.

In toy box, rex is looking for the strategy guide to beat "bahamut" which is a summons in final fantasy, it was also a summons cut from the first kingdom hearts, and I wonder if kh4 will have bahamut there since they say the world is not made of light or dark, so I wonder if the gods produced in that world won't represent the light and darkness, and if you won't fight them or not. It would be a great foreshadow from 3 to 4 if you have to fight bahamut.

I have a feeling Sora will go to that version of Destiny Island and maybe figure out a way to return to his reality from there. I think Riku is definitely going to be the key to Sora returning from Unreality. The game is most likely going to be a call back to KH1 where Sora was chasing Riku all game but instead Riku is going to be chasing Sora while Sora explores all the different worlds trying to find his own way home when Riku is the one he’s been needing to look for all along.

Tbh even before I knew its gonna be Kairi tho it is maybe a Beta Kairi or an unused concept art for her cuz as you said there isnt even a thought of a Kingdom Hearts 2 or some sort of sequel (at that time ofc) but with how convoluted KH now is, I would noy be surprised that Nomura scrapped this idea and apply it to the Nameless Star(if ever she is the girl). also I think the "Another Side, Another Story" is implying Roxas' story as Sora's Other Side. but at the end of KH3 and after the secret ending, it did say "Reconnect Kingdom Hearts" so that opens up another can of pulsating worms from Nomura so anything is possible

I always thought that the Name "Destiny Islands" was a bit suspicious but when Kairis bottled Message drifted on the shores of the fricken Realm of Darkness I knew that something is up with this place Maiby this New Chapter of KH leans way more into Final Fantasy than we think and the Statement that the Final Fantasy Charakters are Not important to the Story means just that He needs room to integrate his own Version

Destiny islands being realmless is less crazy when you put in the wakka tidus and selphie living there in kh1. What if they came from, or even went back to currently the other side. I have this dumb theory that when sephiroth n cloud disappear they actually go to quadratum.

I think there's a way for characters to travel between Unreality and Reality, but for Reality (Sora's world) the process is reliant on Keyblades and the abuse of Power of Waking - while in Yoroza's world-the dimension travel is like due to advancement of technology. Thinking about it, it seems like the characters were never meant to interact with each other. That's why the only way to travel to the other side is either by committing a taboo (what Sora did with the abuse of Power of Waking), or having an error in the use of machine (the device Terranort put Kairi in, in Melody of Memory). Terranort said to Kairi, there is a chance she'll arrive in Unreality, if things go the wrong way. My current theory is that Yozora's world is at war, similar to what happened between Insomnia and Niflheim, and they are pushing for technology advancement to strengthen the military power of a country. During the whole thing, they'd discover a way to connect to Sora's world and possibly monetize it for rich people and government personnel to go and explore it. That's why Yozora is called a Commander, and that's exactly why Luxord (assuming it's him) could've ended up in Reality (Sora's world). Also the reason Nameless Star, possibly a daughter of a military commander, a president or some high-ranking official, would be on Destiny Island. The question is, how did they discover it? My bet is the Master of Masters. He was the one that created the device that Terranort used with Kairi; after all, the same device was used for Dandelions to travel between Data Daybreak Town and the real one. I think he's trying to connect the worlds' for some reason, and acts from the shadows to lead Yozora's world into whatever he's planning to do with the world by contributing to technological advancement. I feel like he's also responsible for Yozora's mission to “save Sora” and the reason Nameless Star had her identity snatched away.

Don't know if anyone has already theorized this but what if the nameless star is subject X? Maybe a long lost sister of Kairi who was sent to Quadradum by Xehanort after being experimented on for the sake of finding a way to Quadradum. This would've taken place years before when he unsuccessfully tried with Kairi. The scene where the nameless star seems to be at the center of a rift and all the chaos and gigas are flying around her could've been her unlocking a way back the the OG KH reality and Yozora's fighting the gigas to stop them from reaching her. When she gets taken, she loses her body but is still able to cross back into the KH verse as a heart (soul) leaving the final world the only place for her consciousness to end up. Aegis and Magia seem to be parallels of Goofy and Donald when they could also be parallels of Lea(Axel) and Isa(Saix) who were trying to free subject X/the nameless star from both sides of reality; Magia & Aegis on one side and Isa & Lea on the other.

Having DI as a sort of medium that all of the key players have lived or visited does make sense to have one in what's currently known as "Unreality" since it existed in both realms of Light and Dark. That door to the heart of the world could be used as a medium to hop between realities if conditions are met and not have to use the power of waking used by some keyblade wielders.

Is it just me, or does Long Haired Kairi seem more mature than KH3 Short Hair Kairi? Don’t get me wrong, the short cut is cute, but I also miss the long hair version.

If Yozora and SOra are parallesl and other characters vice versa why is there no other character parallel to Riku?

I always thought that was a foreshadow of Kairi when sora was falling back to destiny islands at the end of 2. Because that first clip was the end of CoM/358 beginning of 2. Im almost certain that Nomura switched it last minute to the girl we see in KH3. Hes known to do that lmao

I assumed the another side, another story just alluded to the nobodies introduced in KH2, but that girl that was supposed to represent Kairi really does look like Yozora's female protagonist, or Lunafreya (FF Versus XIII or XV). Versus XIII original trailer also starts out with the text... "a fantasy based on reality". Nomora really in his bag with all this.

My personal theory is is that the other side aka quadratum is a parallel world to the entirety of the existing KH World but kingdom hearts and keyblade wielders never existed there so the separation of the world into many small worlds never happened and technology flourished more akin to final fantasy 15's world and when sora ended up there the 2 worlds became connected allowing the heartless to follow and infect an entirely new world of humans.

@6:48 Destiny Islands is within the realm of light, at least partially. The gang tells this to Aqua after rescuing her. Aqua asks if Destiny Islands fell to darkness, and they say no, we’re in the realm of light. *Maybe* the door is a door to darkness, but we have no reason to believe it is located outside of the realm of light.

Destiny Islands has been established as a border land. It can be reached from Twilight Town by train, across the sea lies the Dark Margin, and it's where Kairi landed after Xehanort's experiment.

So I don't know if this was all some sick fever dream that I had while browsing online too much, but I could swear that I heard a rumor from an old magazine somewhere stating that Nomura actually had plans of crossing over Versus XIII with Kingdom Hearts if things went through.

The ending sequence for Yazora in the car is frame for frame the same as VS XIII with Noctis in the car, I cracked up when I saw that because I new how much that game meant to Namura before it was passed on and completely written by another team. So it wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination if he did use some of the concepts for VS XIII in KH4 I followed that game from the very first trailer back in I think 2009 well 14 years ago anyway. If you listen closely it actually has kind of a Kingdom Hearts vibe to the music before Somnus actually starts to play. I would love for the KH games to move away from the Disney influence and more towards FF which is what originally got me and my brother in to the games in the first place back from the very first game, with KH3 it was to heavy on the Disney in some places ( I'm looking at you Tangled and Frozen) and Sora was just an after thought for those world, Disney got free advertising for two of its biggest movies in this game and it lost the charm that it had in the other games. Seeing the Verum Rex trailer for the first time ( and second and third ) then seeing Yazora in the secret ending really got me excited again for what could be next in the KH Series after I felt let down by 3. This theory just gets me thinking more and more about what other things we could have missed in the other games and really makes me want to go back and play them all just to see 🤣

I like to think M.o.M told yazora that the only one who could save nameless star would be "Sora". and that he'd have weird dreams of etc till a chosen one appeared. Which is why he was excited,shocked and happy as at the end of one he says his power isn't needed yet as he's the key for Sora to get out.

No they are all sorta remixed versions from the never released Final Fantasy Verses xiii Yozora is Noctis and the namless star girl is Stella. Yozora told Sora this not what he looks like which probably means his true form looks like Noctis since they are super the same. Vertrem Rex is Final Fantsy Versus Xiii told in a different way and if you want the trailers for FF Versus you can see that it is put into Kingdom Hearts 4 hints Soras movement and the world around him and there will be a sorta re telling of this story in KH4. How deep will that be? Ofc idk but all the clues and endince show that KH4 will be mixed with a changed FF Versus story one reason being bc sora is in a world where he is deemed dead and its like an afterlife for him called the quadrennium which means four and in japan four means death and in final fantasy versus xiii death is a big thing in that wrold and their is a story of a goddess of death also their flag in that world symoblizes death and some characters have symbols of death on their chlothing. Thats going a bit off topic but that show more of the connection between Sora and Yozora and what it means for KH4.

Nothing but love and respect for you brother. But I will not buy that Nomura planned this. I think it MAY have been cut content that did not make it in the game and that scene remained due to over sight, kind of like when someone forgot to scrub Ventus from the KH3 trailer. However, lets assume she was always meant to play a role. I like the idea its Sora's mom. Same hair color and so forth. If not his mother, it may have been something meant to me Namine. The 'datamine" info further supports the idea that neither reality of Destiny Islands or the reality of Quadratum is fake/fictional. You know I've said it before, but Quadratum seems to exist in a world of technology rather than magic which supports my theory that Quadratum exists within the dark side of Kingdom Hearts, a side without magic.

If Sora’s trapped with in one world, does that mean he’s not going to visit other words for the time being in kingdom hearts 4?

Yozora is a parallel to both Sora & Riku.

destiny islands seems to be a way point like the realm of darkness. an ansem says to riku? that the beach that they're standing on, that the edges of those worlds touch. ansem the wise made it seem as though it was an in-between world similar to the data version of twilight Town but also not bc destiny islands doesn't seem like a data version 🤯

I think the ideas behind the secret ending were originally more like what's happening now. But in the development of kh2 the other side simply became the realm between and the other story became Roxas. While Sora disappearing was him simply being asleep. But now Nomura is taking the ideas much further. Sora is truly gone to another side.

The girl in Another Side, Another Story must be an earlier version of Kairi's KH2 design. Was her and Stella of the tragically canceled Final Fantasy Versus XIII inspiration for the appearance of Nameless Star? We'll have to wait and see once more information and the release of KH4 circulates. The secret ending also serves as a teaser to Kingdom Hearts II as well as 358/2 Days, but what's mentioned here might be a misconception despite the cool Advent Children-esque animation.

"This scene stand alone form the KH franchise". In my humble opinion, that's a rendition of KH2's ending when Sora falls from the sky.

I always thought that it would have been odd if it was kairi but if you go by that parallel idea the idea that let’s just call her Stella because the connections to versus 13 is just a parallel universe equivalent to Kairi specially when you consider the fact that knocked us was devised originally to be a polar opposite of sora so you can easily say that Stella is a polar opposite to Kyrie, but they are one in the same in fact, sisters, but in another reality, just asYozora is meant to be to sora

Knowing what this franchise likes to do with tropes, I'd be willing to bet that the girl referred to as nameless star is actually the quadratum version of riku, and whoever we think for most of the game is riku, is actually something insane like Pete or some crap.

Tbh it wouldn’t surprise me if Destiny Islands is a world more than meets the eye in the Lost Masters Saga.. so I don’t think you’re overthinking the cutscene. I’m just waiting for future Kingdom Hearts content to be released until I can make any speculations or theories about it, same thing with Demyx or Sora being the MoM theory.. 🤔

I wonder if Quadratem will be setup the way worlds used to be. They speak of times in KH that the worlds all used to be one, and not divided. So maybe Quadratem is a world like that, with all worlds tied into one somehow.

i won’t lie, the kh lore is already difficult to keep up with let alone having a whole new direction with even more complicated loopholes. i’m all for it don’t get me wrongggggg, but all that information gets lost in my brain somewhere lol

At this point the destiny islands is looking like some sort of singularity point, so many convenient things keep coming from that place without explanation (or at least not explained until later games in some cases). Why would most of the main cast of characters pop there up along with antagonists that specifically target it for they’re plans at the end of some games along with the kingdom key appearing along with master defender, there’s definitely some sort of significance with that place and kingdom hearts itself or the old world that the foretellers were from

so if it is the nameless star its and i had to predict where nomura is going with this id predict that Yozora is meant to more closely represent a riku that never fell to darkness due to design + destiny and maybe if these are alternate versions of characters id assume the girl is actually meant to be this AU Sora not AU Kairi because unless the AU Raidiant garden fell and AU Kairi came to AU Destiny islands ala the normal universe the AU Kairi shouldnt be on destiny islands Especially with the meteor shower showing in the clip that would imply that the Kairi equivelant would just be arriving. Just my thought

0:26 isn’t that the ending cutscene/battle from 358 days where roxas fights riku to try and destroy kingdom hearts after being asked by xion to release the hearts she captured.

With hearing about "a fictional world" going through all of the KH games I believe the girl could be literally anyone. But I'm more so thinking of her being the "fictional" version of Kairi. With so many versions of Ansem, this gives my opinion more weight in my head lol. And we heard Luxord's voice in the limo scene. Wow! The fact that there is an advertisement with a picture of what appears to be Destiny Island is insane. It could be a case of "re-used" asset or something, though I highly doubt it. The most likely fact is that they intentionally used that specific image for the advertisement with a specific meaning..
