In this video for our song "8 Bits" you can see Markus, who writes all the lyrics of mind.in.a.box, and Roman, our live bass player. Although they dressed up in special retro gear for this video, the two really are quite retro :) Markus collects lots of retro computer stuff, and Roman has been a true gamer since C64 times. It wouldn't be a suprise to meet him on a gaming server. The song itself is an homage to the game "The Great Giana Sisters".

I grew up with C64's and their datasettes. It was a pain to load the slow games but so much fun! Nowadays video games are bloody, violent and mindless. This is a Brilliant track, from one of Austria's best electronic bands. I've been listening to them for 7 years now and the RETRO album is their best so far!

Was having a shitty evening, this just made me smile so big! Props to Markus, I had some moments listening to m.i.a.b. on my headphones walking to my car when I got out of my Gödel seminar this fall and was like dayumn, these lyrics exist on like five different layers of depth! The Lament spacemix was my favorite song to dance to at work, I danced to 8 bits when I was pissed off. ha Uploaded a crappy dance video to my channel w/ the song to remember that period of my life...

Hell yeah, awesome vid guys. If you guys love playing games like that, I strongly suggest a game that is fairly new, but done in a true to form classic platformer adventure style - Spelunky. Plug in a game pad and give it a go - it will give you hours upon hours of old-school nostalgic goodness.

C64 was a "no RISC no FUN" computer.... CPU had 3 registers, one of it was the accumulator, round about 23 Instructions for Machine Language or Assembler Programming. And so it was a Reduced Instruction Set CPU. ... running on 0,9 MHz ;-) :-D
