From what I’m understanding if you need a med waiver for 18x you’d have to enlist under a 11x and then get your physical before airborne school? Also how do you know they won’t deny you there and you’re stuck not getting the 18x contract?

@@chrisdupree9685 Nah, what he’s saying is you can go straight to SF or you can go 11B. Either one works but if you intend to go SF, why not go straight to that option. As far as obtaining a medical waiver… he’s saying as long as you qualify for a medical waiver, you can go special forces. If I took adhd medication I don't have to wait 24 months only 1 year because I am just waiting it out till the 24 months have pasted rn I got 10 months left. I was told the wait for adhd was 24 months

Ive heard it can be as low as 6 months amd as high as 24. So its always 24?

@@randallmcgrath9345 Yoire right and depending on your medical history, severity, meds/dosage, etc… the CMO @ MEPS will determine the minimum waiting period. There’s been consistent changes, pilot programs, etc…

@@TEAMSWARTZ appreciate you. Wish me luck. Ill discuss these things with my Nurse Practitioner tomorrow. She may already have had patients try to join. She isnt a newbie after all, been practicing a few years at least. The only reason she didnt go to med school was because she had a kid beforehand, or else, she mightve went the full MD route. Shes a great NP, so thats an advantage for now.

I can comment on this. I recently went to MEPS and had my visit with the doctor. I had a previous shoulder surgery back in 2014 that was repaired and have no problems. All that was documented prior to going to MEPS. While visiting with the doctor Genesis pulled up an ER visit 2-3 years ago due to a mental health occurrence. She DQ'd me and submitted a waiver for that. My Special Warfare recruiter told me im DQ'd from SW due to an upper extremity ( shoulder ) & the mental health occurrence. Im not sure if the waiver for the mental health is approved if im still DQ'd from SW. This was for TACP with the Air Force btw. Any tips or input?

I am diagnosed with high functioning autism, it’s not debilitating in any way to me. Would I need a waiver for this or does it even matter?
