Damn, I just realized I did a remaster. Man, they really need to start labeling these videos. I guess I'll be re doing this song again. hahahahahhahahaha!!!! :) Like this video for more Megadeth \m/
K K Dave hacked these remasters so much that they sound like different albums. In some cases he re-recorded elements. Peace Sells is a pretty good remaster, but Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction, and Youthenasia we’re ruined.
"Gotta love this guy's voice" is something I never thought I'd hear anyone say about Dave Mustaine. Many self professed Megadeth fans won't say it. I bow to you, sir, for you are profoundly metal.
]V[EGADET]-[ has been my favourite band since high school and I’ve always thought Dave Mustaine has the best voice in thrash metal, it’s much better suited to fast paced speed/thrash mural than say James Hetfield for example, whose voice was more suited to ballady type songs except for the first few albums.
The thing with Dave's voice is that I love his studio recorded singing, when he can focus on it, tweak it, unlike live performance where he's obviously a guitarist first and only then a singer. But yeah, I really like his voice, especially from Rust In Peace onwards. Youthanasia might be my favorite MD album when it comes to vocals.
Dave had some serious shit to prove to the world back then. All piss and vinegar and technical chops to show Metallica what a mistake they'd made kicking his ass out. Peace Sells is one of my all time favourite albums, Rust in Peace is his masterpiece but this is just a monster of an album that set out their stall for the rest of their career.
@@nickh7962 it's all about perspective: from his perspective at the time they kicked him out and left him for dead (anyone on the outside would see that there was a reason) but yes, they were jsutified in doing it. as he got older and wiser he realised what a psycho-handful he'd been and understood why they did it.
Dave uses his voice for effect. Those who criticize don't get it, his inflections make a point to his audience. He probably won't get called on to fill in at the opera, (that's a job for B.Dickenson) but Tee got it right, unique and apropos! 🎊🎆🎉🇺🇲🏴☠️🇺🇸Dave Mustaine for President 🇺🇲🏴☠️🇺🇸🎉🎆🎊
Beat you! picked up my first Megadeth record when I was 9... I bought Rust in peace together with Master of Puppets... I always liked Rust in Peace better... Buut, I'm 38, so it seems like we might have found them in the same exact year....
No-one requesting Bad Omen - Megadeth? An underrated beautiful gem. Just continue reacting to the rest of this album and go back to their first album, which also is a masterpiece.
By the way if you didn't notice, Blackmail the Universe features the same lead guitar player as Good Mourning/Black Friday. His name is Chris Poland and he's amazing.
I agree to a point🤘🤘 Chris Poland was amazing during his time with Megadeth 🔥 But I'd have to go with Marty Friedman an rust an peace as my favorite.. Megadeth is my 1b band with Iron Maiden being 1A💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
@@jimwells768 I'd say Chris got even better after Megadeth as a guitar player, especially in Ohm. He was always amazing, since the New Yorkers, to Megadeth, to Damn the Machine, to Ohm (and stuff like the resistance album).
There's NO band like Megadeth! Its so different! Its feel good rock, to headbanging metal, to stange jazz metal chords, to thrash, some heavy bassy shit! Its all over the place but its all quality!!! Fan for life!
Man! Im so glad I found someone that has the fire and passion for my all time favorite band MEGADETH! Dude, youre awesome. My parents said my interest in Megadeth was just a phase when I was 15. I'll be 50 soon. HA!
I enjoy watching people react to Megadeth music. They all seem to be blown away: i’ve been blown away by Megadeth music since the mid-80s. Now I’m 50 and still love them.🇨🇦
These have to be the most graphically violent lyrics I've ever heard that were NOT from some death metal band. Some serious Jack The Ripper shit going on here.
The fact that you noticed Blackmail the Universe (which included Poland) had similarities to their older stuff shows you really are listening and even understanding their music.
I've been listening to MEGADETH since I was 15 I'm 51 now, mustaine is more intricate and more one with his guitar than Metallica ever could get....and I loved Metallica since '83 I was a true Metallica fan til they went soft they broke my heart
I would agree as Rust in Peace is objectively the best thrash album, the only issue is it's Megadave, they really don't keep the same line up for more than a few CDs and tours. Calling them the best band doesn't hold up to the bands together for thirty years. I do acknowledge ALOT of bands suffer from this 🤘😎🤘
Steve Minghini well he writes the music he needs people capable of playing his music. Absolute pro. 100% music 100% business. Megadeth is him. But best thrash album is hell awaits from slayer I think. Megadeth has his own metal. Megametal
@@skullair52 You think they swap members constantly. But they really don't. 2 lineups with only swapping back to Ellefson, getting rid of Drover and Broderick and adding Dirk and Kiko. That's 2 lineups in 13 years.
@@11DNA11 fair enough but nobody is talking about anything released in the last decade, Dave's great so don't get me wrong, but their best work isn't recent other than live🤘 Megadeth has had 23 official members, thats alot
Steve Minghini you might think otherwise, but I actually think that changing lineups is the only way for some bands to grow. My favorite band of all time, Death, changed their lineup drastically pretty much every album but they’re widely known to have a perfect discography in the metal community. If you’re not familiar with them I suggest you check them out, they changed from brutal death metal to much more progressive stuff, and I think this was only possible because the lineups changed every album
This is not just a build-up and I'm glad you mention: nobody makes music like this, this days. No heavy metal bands! That's totally true because those days came to pass. Record companies play it safe now and they produce what's hot only. Rap for example! I don't listen to rap but I can not avoid listening to music around and it sounds shitty. I'm close to my 50's and I remember some rap. I'm a metalhead and proudly say that I had diverse friends. Back to Megadeth, Good Morning and Wake Up Dead are the top ones for me of this album
You would be surprised at what you can find by looking at foreign bands. You know that saying "there's an app for that", ....well "there's a band for that" in the foreign market.
Really good channel is NWOTHM ( new wave of traditional heavy metal ) One drawback with foreign bands is there can be a lot of 1 or 2 "offs" (albums ) and that's it. Example - Mortyr : Rise of the Tyrant ( think Megadeth Killing is my Business ) raw, but very good, similar melodies. Attick Demons - Atlantis ( Pretty Identical to Iron Maiden w/Bruce ) That channel has independent artists too, so not all foreign, hit and miss but there are a lot of good ones to find there.
You totally get it man, great review. Agreed with everything you said. Daves snarl , this song builds the entire time and gets more and more Rip!!! one of my favs of all time. Great memorable lyrics too.
Glad you liked it mate, you need to do all of peace sells and go back to original pressing of killing is my business its theur first album, very low budget but its raw thrash
I wouldn't waste your time on the original KIMBABIG. The 2018 remaster is 10000x higher quality to the point where the original album is basically unlistenable.
Listen to this man, that song is amazing. In fact, that album contains some fantastic gems, oft overlooked but worthy of the catalogue! Lungs of Hell, Mary Jane, Hook in Mouth...just be sure to listen to originals, not remasters. 😉
That's what's amazing about Megadeth, once you take the time to really get into them and they click with you. You realize the way they do music is unlike any other band in existence. And the more you appreciate Dave's voice.
Back in the early 90s, i was a big tallica fan boy like many thrash metal fan boys.. Who doesnt was it? But as soon im cracking up wake up dead, devils island... Hey man, there's no turning back from being a rattlehead.. Viva megadeth
This album just never gets old. I've listened to it at least a hundred times, and it still sounds just as fresh and invigorating. Killing is my business and Peace Sells, man! I'm not like everybody else I don't think Rust In Peace is that special. I mean I like most of the songs from that album, but it doesn't get me excited like when I listen to THIS. It feels sterile compared to this. This is barebones in your face and HONEST INTEGRITY. It burns. You know? I tell you this: I will listen to a song here and there from all of the Megadeth albums, but this and Killing... I listen all the way through!
I'm happy to watch you discover what I feel blessed to have grown up on - a steady diet of Megadeth, and Metallica, and other greats. This era is unmatched...
I've been waiting for this one ! The whole song is just big fuckin masterpiece, next you can listen to Devil's Island (killer track) Thank you for doing these reactions, and also thank you for doing more megadeth
And this is two or three years after he got the boot from Metallica. Megadeth turned into a far superior band. And yes this is one of their masterpieces
Hey bud love your reactions the joy in yours and your wife's face is in infectious and thanks to you been playing some of these songs in my twitch dj sets starting with the wasp song unholy terror awesome bud from my rock family to yours 🤘🤘🤘 keep rocking
You got it: "no other band does this, only Megadeth!". I'm not so much into metal, rather classical/jazz-trained but I listen to Megadeth since 30 years. Some call it thrash metal, I just call it great music. Mustaine is genius.
Big shout to you ,for even reviewing this song..I’m subscribing..way off the grid..but I appreciate you entertaining this..I personally grew up on this album..learned it note 4 note..chix hate it..lol .but I’m older now and listen to it my man cave..👍
Your best MEGA reaction yet an I will say you give them their just rewards. much appreciated from one of the NYCers that saw them from the rip.... They'd throw tarps over some equipment -- because the roof blew off when it kicked off with Mega Dave on stage snarling and screaming and jammin. People went insane
I realize I'm late to the party. lol But I love your reaction to MD and your taste in music. MD is my favorite band as a guitarist because of the technicality but moreso for the awesomeness of the songwriting in general. You can play all the technical guitar in the world but it won't matter if it ain't a great song right? I'm most impressed in your reaction to Dave's voice. He's been critiqued about it but he truly does have a voice made for Thrash. And MD wouldn't be without it! Great video and looking forward to more.
I was listening to Rust in Peace and Peace sells back to back. I think Peace sells Album is not only my favourite Megadeth Album but my favourite thrash album of all time. So much Technical precision in each song which the casual listener may not get at first listen. But once you absorb it you just can’t stop listening to it. Good Mourning Black Friday is the best Representative of this Album. And I love the way you show Dave Mustaine’s vocals here. Great Song. 👍🏻
I LOVE THIS SONG. for at least 25 years, and when i Put the record in the shelf for a few months - i love it even more every time! ❗... Allover a All time classic LP. Regards from germany
When I first heard this in 1986 I was flipped out in this...they went from singing about the US Constitution..and then Black Magic...lol I fkn love. It
I saw them on this tour got the shirt with Blood bath is my way of getting clean on the back . I wore it to school and nothing happened the eighties were great!
Just found your channel today. Diggin it man. Throwing out a request. Twelve foot ninja. Either "One hand killing" or "Coming for you". Maybe have the wife join as it is hard to describe this rock band but i have a feeling she will like the twists either of these songs takes. They are very "fun?" songs. The way they transition is like nothing you've ever heard.
There's also a song by Megadeth, I believe it's on the Youthanasia album, that all the lyrics are the titles of other Megadeth songs. It's a trip, & I think you're ready for it with you being the Mega-fan now. 😁🤘😎
It's called VICTORY. I myself just commented on that very same song and requested it. Explaining Dave's absolute genius of the song. I explained that I have never in my life seen anything done life this before. Only Dave could do this. I explained it was a song completely comprised of many previous album titles incorporated with various different song titles within the song along various song lyrics from various all meshed up into one song and making perfect sense. Me being a die-hard Megadeth fan had no trouble catching everything the first time but I still hope he gives it a go. I told him to make sure he gets the lyrics for it and might even want to read them once or twice b4 reacting. But I totally agree with u that this song is definitely one of a kind and has to be heard. Ang~
Giving the MegaDave growl multiple as it relates tp some songs is a great observation. And again, seeing Him live way back in the day at smaller NYC venues, he ALWAYS was snarling and Growling. Buddies 10 stronG and down for whatever always made our way to the very front, great place to experience the growling lol.
The first part (Good Mourning) is about a normal man losing his mind "Hey, I don't feel so good, something's not right. Something's coming over me... What the fuck is this?" Then he descends into insanity, & it goes into the fast frenzied part that is Black Friday. I personally like to think it's about Black Friday sale shoppers, they can be absolute raving maniacs!
Chris Poland on lead guitars. Sure Marty is top notch but for my money no one comes close to Chris. His haunting leads at the beginning are untouchable. He has such a unique style that pretty much every guitarist Megadeth employed singled his leads as some of the most difficult to nail. This album is the pinnacle of Megadeth...
