This is now my most viewed video 🤘 btw peeps, don’t get mad ‘cause I don’t “know” Sepultura or Eloy. You should see some of the comments shaming me for that lol! I do know them both, I just never really listened to Sepultura that much as a teen and have since then moved on to other styles. I make these videos for entertainment, so don’t expect these to be 100% “real” either! Thx for the views and comments!!!
This is Nervosa, a brazilian female band who has a new line up with mediterranean girls (the band had split in the beginning of the pandemics) and I would love to see your comments on the new drummer who's from Greece. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9xs2YGGrbZA.html&start_radio=1&ab_channel=NapalmRecords
Absolute monster. I’m their promoter in Ireland and, trust me, the venues need LOUD monitors for the rest of the band because of how insanely hard he hits.
I had tickets for their gig this year off the back of their new album but it was cancelled along with so many other Irish gigs. I hope as a promoter you're not too badly screwed by COVID man!
Os gringos pagando uma lagosta pra músico brasileiro, enquanto isso o tupiniviking só respeita metal nódico kk congratz for the video, Eloy is HUGE. cheers!
He's very creative. In some interviews, the band members always say that after he joined the band, they needed to reinvent themselves to accompany him hahaha and that was very good, it took the band to a new level.
Really enjoyable. And I'm not even a drummer. Just makes you appreciate the music even more when someone explains what's going on. Keep interrupting the video, that's what we are here for!
First time watching this channel, have always been fascinated by drums. Agreed that the commentary is spot on, the enthusiasm for the craft comes across. Subscribed.
Brazil has SO MANY amazing musicians and bands. The world should take a closer look at us :D Thanks for your video, Pat! Eloy is this monster since he was a kid! If you search more videos you will find his old perfomances :P
Always loved Brazil! When I was in a pop-punk band in the early 2010’s I remember we had a couple of fans from there and they were some of the best ones out there! Cheers mate!
Guys, thank you SO MUCH for your incredible response to this video so far! Plenty of positive, constructive and insightful stuff in the comments section! Couple of haters, but meh, f*** ‘em! I’ll be making more of these, along with other types of videos, so stay tuned!
Eloy is a monster! You should check out the videos from the current and former Angra drummers as well. Aquiles Priester is another very technical and hard player and Bruno Valverde is a young insane drummer who plays metal on a traditional grip (he recorded drums for the Kiko Loureiro solo album). I suggest: Aquiles Priester - Spread your fire Bruno Valverde - Upper levels
You need to listen the last album of Sepultura, Quadra. It's a masterpiece of metal! I already had my CD because this deserves a place on my collection.
I don't really like this kind of music, but when i see Eloy hammering the drums, it just makes me feel good. Your reaction as a drummer makes it even better. This kid knows how to destroy drumsets, and you like it...so i like it! Great Reaction!
Man, react to Bruno Valverde from Angra (Brazil). He's a close friend to Eloy and also a sick metal drummer with an amazing traditional grip thecnique.
Eloy is been part of metal bands since 16yo. In past played for Andre Matos melodic metal named Shaman. Now for the legendary Sepultura. The guy deserves attention.
Eloy is a great musician and a humble guy. He study many hours a day, every single day, always searching for something new to improve his skills. So won't be surprise if, soon, he will be better and better. Congrats for the video.
As a subscriber, see this video with such technical and joyful comments makes me really smile, even not being a drummer(I'm a guitarist)! Congrats , Pat!You have an Excellent channel!
He also was an Aquiles Priester student for some good years! Eloy is very technical, extremely creative and able to put a lot of it when playing Heavy Metal
what a sick battle! i grew up watching egor, sepu;turas first drummer. half the band split up, into cavalera conspiracy. they both rock! both drummers and bands are epic!
When I show someone a video of Eloy it's the kind of reaction and perception that I expect... attentive to details and impressed with everything. It's very satisfying watch your reaction man!
Eloy woke up the beast in Sepultura. He is definitely one of the best around. Mario from Gojira, Alex Rudinger that plays with Evan Brewer (sick bass player)and Matt Garstka from Animals As Leaders will impress you all as well.
I dunno how many times I’m gonna have to say that I’ve known about Sepultura for decades, but I was never a fan... in the intro I say “I don’t know them well”, not “I’ve lived under a rock since the early 90s and have never heard of them” 🤣
Just Igor Cavalera geniuses elevated to a new level by Eloy virtuosity…. Tons of Brazilian tribal roots from African slaves, natives and so on put together…. Brazil baby !!!!
Eloy is an incredible drummer. When he started at Sepultura, I had a lot of doubts about his ability with the drumsticks. But after seeing the first concert with him, I realized that it was the best choice that the band made for the position of drummer. Great video Man! 👍🤘
You def brought the Brazilian spirit to the comment section! Love the analysis and totally an educational experience to someone like me who doesn’t drum but plays guitar. Opens my eyes to a deeper level of music composition that drums bring to complete a song thank you! Pls make more 👍🏼
Dude, don’t waste any more time and go check on this guy, the best drummer actually and im not only saying in terms of metal. Eloy drumming its absolutely top notch! Take ur conclusions yourself.
Foda demais. Foi a estreia do Derick nos vocais
From “easy” to “sick” to “this is one of the best drum performances I’ve ever seen.” Man, this is the best reaction vídeo I’ve ever seen. You explained so good that a non-musician like me could understand what you mean. And when you talked about Phil Collins, you hit it straight in the head, and he’s a big Genesis/Collins fan thanks to his dad.
That is exactly how I reacted when I sow him playing in his 1st tour in North America (Mob house - Toronto)! I could not content with excitement and met with the band at the back of the club to congratulate him - also a great personality btw 🤘
Oh man, very cool comments about Eloy, this outstanding drummer! I love this song and "Last Time" from "Quadra" Album and Sepultura may be the only historical and innovative band at the same time now these years! I could recommend a lot of other Brazilian drummers, because, as you know, Brazil is the biggest storehouse of drummers of the world: Aquiles Priester, Danilo Lopes, Luis Gigante, Ivan Conti... and the list has no end :)
@@PatFlanigan I think there's a lot of ways to know the Brazilian rhythms, but Brazil is so big and, basically, each region has a different kind of. Forró (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OaIgxjJ-fxU.html) and Samba (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OoAnmBmJT2w.html) may be the main streams to float and know, but, I think, you will find the Brazilian jewels any moment! Enjoy the journey :)
This guy is a frickin' monster!!! He goes way beyond metal or just his insane technique; the guy is very musical and versatile, one of the best drummers around without a single doubt!
Check out Quadra, their last album. Your analysis was perfect, everything you said is actually what he does on propose. I'm following his work for some time, I'm Brazilian and a drum student, so I saw several interviews with him exploring all his setup, technics and stuff. He is amazing and he studied with Aquiles Priester, who you might know.
Yeah I only found out after making this vid that Eloy wasn’t the original drummer. He seemed young and Sepultura have been around forever! Guess I’ll have to check out stuff with their original drummer!
@@PatFlanigan as a brazilian fan I think Eloy is much better than the former one. My recommendation is to check more of Eloy, like his live performance of Desperate Cry :)
Great video, glad to hear from a musician and from someone that understand. I never liked Sepultura. I am from Brazil. But this album is amazing. From beginning to end. They got a real great technique and Eloy is showing that.
man, i just discovered your channel and this was the first video i watched. I really liked it, and you won another follower from Brazil. thanks for that!
SEPULTURA DO BRAZIL !!! ELOY MONSTER !!! And I go beyond my words. In the future Eloy will be one of the greatest Drummers of all time. It is certain that he will be able to reach the levels of the greatest Masters that we have had in the Drums until today ... Ps.... Guys, Just remembering those who will read this comment. That is my humble opinion, and in addition, our Great Master and Influencer of this Generation MIKE PORTNOY, put Eloy Casagrande's performance on this new Sepultura album on his list this year .....
