I had a hard time with mindful eating before, because I got too attached to the meal and pinned my hopes of happiness on the meal. Then when it was over I was disappointed. I just thought to myself, "Maybe it's about the mindfulness itself, not the meal, and the reason to eat mindfully isn't that the simple pleasure of eating is the substance of life which mindfulness amplifies but that mindfulness itself is something so valuable you don't want to suspend or interrupt it when eating."
Great explanation, I stopped watching stuff while eating while ago but my tendency to daydreaming just makes my eating very quick and foggy Have tried to bring awareness but I have always gone back to just thinking randomly while eating fast... but this visual focus on details/texture of food seems helpful Tried it today and that one seems game changer, so far... visual sense is strongest probably, so that's why when I brought focus to texture then it was easier to just focus on taste once I chewed it...
Very helpful explanation. I am looking for groups with whom I can practice as I keep falling back to auto-pilot mode. Do you know any such groups to practice mindful eating.
It seems to me that every video that Teaches Mindful Eating requires an awareness to do the exercise it proposes to create. Mindfulness leads to Mindful eating... duh! How many times have I eaten so fast that only at the end of the meal I noticed I was not mindful? How does one become more mindful (when the trouble is that I forget to slow down, to notice, to appreciate)?
This why people accuse hinds brahmin as racist, People do not understand you give love when farming food, for Example plants in your garden depend on your energy. So, there are several steps in cooking food and eating food You are considering you are energy while cooking that makes you eagoless
You can pick up the speed as you practice, of course. This is just a beginning. Luckily we have 3 or 4 opportunities a day for mindfulness, for the rest of our lives. What a gift. 😊
