douglas actually told a sheriff one time the model and color of the color the perp would be driving when he was cought. the Sherriff said he thought this guy was nuts till they caught the guy and he was spot on right
I remember when I read the book John wrote on B.T.K. ..I actually had to put it down a few times..John really made it feel like he was in the mind of that monster...You have to be a special person to do what these guys do...I have been following John Douglas and his amazing career for years..
I read that book and found it hard to put it down. Can you imagine the horrors he has to keep inside when interrogating a suspect? The profiling business just blows my mind. He and the other agents do a terrific job with these monsters.
My son's gf wants to be a criminal profiler and work for the FBI. I just ordered Mindhunter, paperback - I feel honored, to get to be the person to introduce her to John Douglas. She'll be 18 her bday. I can't wait to see where she takes this dream. Ty
@@johnscanlon2598 what would you have said if it was you. We aren't perfect. I appreciate anyone that can help catch these monsters . Even if it's a little thing
Don't want to sound morbid, but that great guy John Douglas is kinda old already and will not be around us forever.... So they should do a lot more podcasts with him and record his great mind and wisedom with us :)
I’m definitely a groupie. I have loved mystery and suspense from a young age. I enjoy true crime thought it can be a bit gory and frightening. I love the profiling aspect of crime fighting. John Douglas and all his protégés have such accomplished careers. I am a retired nurse of 43 years, if I was young now I’d love to work in the scientific side of criminal investigation. I’d make a great crime scene tech. Like I said, I’m a groupie.
I am a big fan of John Douglas and I would love to see an interview with Mr Olshaker. He is an amazing journalist who co-authored books with John. I am so glad I came across the Mindhunter book because after reading and re-reading it I put together a puzzling scenario that happened to me when I was a young mother. It was so freeing to see the reality at last. John and Mr Olshaker helped me sort out a nasty situation, work out who was behind it. its like working a jigsaw puzzle, or a story board.
I get a chill down my spine when he "interviews" serial killers that are well known. I haven't seen this all the way through but the author of "Silence of the Lambs" based Jack Crawford on Douglas. Douglas also coached Stanley Tucci for the movie "The Lovely Bones". Tucci got an Oscar nomination (which made Douglas proud but he knows that Tucci is a great actor). Yup, mentioned. How could they not!
If Manson could’ve conned an ex-con like himself, I’d say he might have some skill. But, he chose kids, mostly middle-class kids who had grown up with no experience with the world.
For all the awesomeness this guy has pulled out of his back pocket, it's his influence on methods of forensics that had the biggest influence on modern day law enforcement.
John Douglas should do another book like "the cases that haunt us"...about other unsolved cases, where he gives his opinion on cases such as Casey Anthony (what happened)other unsolved cases like the new Bedford serial killer, the mesa bone collector, the I70 killer and other unsolved cases....just his own opinion, his own profile on them....
On the show Mindhunter, I love when he's speaking to the kids at school and the little girl says, "Are only boys disturbed?" 😂 then all the girls in class burst out in laughter lol epic scene
He is a very charismatic speaker. I'm pretty sure he was also on profiling the ripper murders with Peter Ustinov... Aaron Kosminski i remember that name a disheveled man that wasn't the favored doctor gull or the others. Fascinating stuff. Love shows like that. I'm trying to find that documentary mock trial if anyone knows what it is and where it was fascinating. I suppose he is the FBI man in the movie Hannibal lecture and then the x files or very close to him.
I'm always attacked for saying that Jon Bonet was killed by someone outside of the family. I would love to hear his views on recent popular cases such as Alex Murdaugh or older ones like Scot Peterson. There's no herd mentality here.
I know Ressler felt some pity for him, he viewed Dahmer as someone with a legitimate illness, not just personality traits. Wouldn't be surprised if Douglas feel the same. I know they both feel similarly regretful about Kemper's upbringing.
I don’t know that I wanna watch off 124 minutes of this. I hope though that he lets his imperfections also, John Douglas does not know everything. One example is the Christine Jessup case, you got that one wrong didn’t you John.
READ. HIS. BOOKS. he literally says SEVERAL times that profiling is NOT an exact science and that he is not always right. He's VERY up front about this. Old news
IQ comment was strange 🤔 if a person has an IQ of 145 is highly gifted and anything under 85 is considered mentally disabled, so....145 divided by 2 is 72.5 🤔 not funny.
@@mzsteffsstuff You read his books stop telling me what what I need to do, you obviously have a hard time interpreting what you read so you need the practice.
The way Mr. Douglas speaks makes watching this interview exhausting. He has a jumpy, jerky speech pattern. I’m tired of listening to him. He isn’t a good story teller. But that’s not what he’s famous for.
He's been through a lot and he's 77 yrs old now.... still has some jerky speech now from the coma he was in after meeting with all those serial killers. It's more apparent now due to age.
READ. HIS. BOOKS. The guys has a very good reason to be a little high on himself. The stuff that u know to b true about killers... is bcuz of John douglas.. please ppl... READ. THE. BOOKS.
