From 1931, here's another early Scrappy cartoon, produced by Charles Mintz and released by Columbia Pictures. In this one, our "hero" babysits Little Oscar, who looks very much like an early version of Oopie/Vonsey. This cartoon was, in effect, co-directed by Dick Huemer (story), Sid Marcus (animation), and Art Davis (animation). Joe De Nat handled the music.

Scrappy #6 (1931) There was a Betty Boop and Bimbo cartoon the same year called *Minding The Baby* but the Fleischer toon was very different and was about NOT minding the baby. Scrappy really tried to mind Oopy, although he tends to express frustration by violence. I guess Oopy is a nickname for Oscar.

@peterhuemer OH MY GOD!!! I LOVE your grandfather's work, especially on the Out of the Inkwell series! He was a legend! He'll always have fans and he probably never realised it. I hope he did!!!

There's also two cartoons named Ups N Downs from the same era (Bosko looney tunes and betty boop!)

Should have kicked the adorable little tyke's butt from the get go, Scrappy. Loved that dog. They did good cats and dogs at the studio. In the same year, 1931, Fleischers also did a cartoon called Minding Baby starring Bimbo (and Betty Boop). This is much better. Better gags and character design, except Betty of course.
