I have used this daily for about 2 years, super helpful. Today I needed it opened early I ALWAYS use "lock" mode. Didn't know the directions are on the back how to open in arrows for lock mode. Fortress mode I've never used but might now that I know how to break in early. 😂 This helps a lot. I've even used to save cash before.
There is! In Standard Timer Mode, the override code is provided with the product, and entering the code overrides the timer. But in Fortress Mode, the timer can not be overridden with the code you get in the packaging. If you want to override Fortress Mode, an email needs to be sent to support@mindsightnow.com and our support replies within 24 hours. We understand accidents do happen! =)
i personally just got a separate dumb phone that could only send/recieve msgs, call (incl. emergency), and take photos. but u assumably wont want the msgs feature at all lol
@@mbenjamin292 There is an icon on the screen that looks like a castle. When Fortress Mode is enabled, that Castle icon is Solid (not blinking). The instructions walk you through how to enable fortress mode.
There is not an automatic 2 or 3 hour interval, but it is very easy to set a timer. So you could absolutely set a 3 hour timer, access the contents of your box, and then set a new 3 hour timer. Once you're familiar using it, setting a new 3 hour timer would take you less than 10 seconds. Hope this helps.
Is there any beep sound that is heard when the timer finishes or is it silent? Asking because I intend on sleeping next to the box and don't want to be woken up by a beeping noise when the timer is finished.
hey! In our earlier versions of the product, there was no battery indicator because 2 AA batteries (included with the product) last for roughly 6 months. And, if the batteries die and need to be replaced in the middle of the timer, the product will resume the timer where it left off when new batteries are put in. Our latest version includes a battery indicator but is still transitioning in, so likely by the end of the summer you can expect the new version to become available. I think you'd be very happy with our current version though and battery life won't be an issue! =)
@@mindsightnow oh i actually bought onr about 1 month ago. So does that means i wont know when battery needs to be replaced until it actually dies? Because sometimes if i set my timer for 4 hours i genuinely need my locked item after 4 hours and i dont check if screen is on/battery alive because i try to sleep in those 4 hours. Means if i wake up, see its dead and then replace the battery, it means i still cant get my item until the newly renewed timer hit zero.
@@nitro7726 You're correct -- in this scenario, if you went to sleep with a 4 hour timer on it, the batteries died 3 hours into the timer, when you woke up and replaced the batteries, the timer would then resume with the 1 remaining hour, which could be an inconvenience. The short term solution is to pre-emptively change the battery, which you could do around 3-4 months if you want to be safe. If you are using the standard timer, there is a published override code you could use in this scenario. If you are using fortress mode, and there was an emergency like this, you could email support@mindsightnow.com explaining the situation and we could provide that code. If the lockbox is in either Manual Lockbox mode (no timer) or Standard Lockbox mode (timer), an override code can be used to access the box. The override code is provided with the product instructions. But if the box is set to Fortress mode (timer, no override), support@mindsightnow.com needs to be contacted to receive a special override code. So definitely proceed with caution when choosing Fortress Mode -- for example, making sure you have an alternative way to make emergency calls (i.e. - smart watch, land line, VOIP, etc).
@@mindsightnowif you intended on locking something away for 2 months for example could you just set it to the max time (30 days) then remove the batteries for 30 days and re insert them for the remaining 30 days? (60 days total) Would it still pick up at the 30 day timer after having no batteries in it for 30 days already?
Yes that would be a nice work around solution to run it for 60 days - you are correct that when you remove batteries, it pauses any active timer and resumes the timer where it left off when batteries are re inserted
