On the squid game one, you could tell which one is correct by stepping on the one without any particles falling below it. This is because when a gravel/sand block that hasn't been updated¹ yet will fall when it will be updated, it emits particles. ¹Updated means that a block that should be in a different state but isn't because any blocks around haven't been changed, removed or added. Updating is so that it doesn't cause lag as if blocks were constantly checked for updates, your game would most likely crash.

At the squid game thing there are only particles under the falling blocks. So you could have guessed the right way.

On the "Squid game challenge" you can see dust particles under the fake floor

On the last challenge they should have used the bow and arrow to shoot the pressure plates to see if it’s safe to jump 😂

On the squid games one there is a way to tell which will drop. The ones that drop have particles that come from the bottom
