Minecraft: Armadillos and Wolf Armor 

I really think we need the ability to enchant the dog armor for it to be useful, imagine doggos with blast or projectile protection. Also yeah definitely make them dyeable and/or armor trims

honestly giving spider eyes another use is banger design choice IMO

This should be a perfect time for Mojang to finally add the new Savanna content that was in the 2018 biome vote (Baobabs, Ostriches and Termites). Armadillos eat termites after all.

I kind of just want them to turn into a legitimate block when balled up. Make the face apart of the block texture instead of it’s own separate piece 😂

Diamond armor for horses is a good first step, but we really need enchantments. A 55% increase in health only goes so far when the AI for wolves constantly has them getting in your way, walking into lava, falling off steep ledges, etc.

If armadillos feast on spider eyes, then on next snapshot spiders should run away from them like how creepers ran away from cats, which would be a useful game mechanic.

Pets in general needed and still need their own update to be more useful and meaningful

I would love to be able to add a leather pouch to the armor that the dogs can wear which holds meat for them. That way they can feed themselves when low on health making healing a pack so much easier. Maybe it can only hold one piece and you only know it's empty by the visual on the armor so you still have to do occasional personal care, but keeping track of dogs in a fight and healing them up can get so confusing.

I agree with what everyone else is saying. Make them enchatable and dyable. Hell make horse armor enchantable too. Just imagine walking around with a pack of protection 5 wolves. That'd be insane...and awesome

sort of wish the wolf armor was more effective? and i sort of wish the armadillo was a more fleshed out, unique mob, as opposed to just a) rolling into a ball and b) dropping scutes and having no other unique behavior either way, thanks for the video :]

Few things: 1. Make it dyeable please. 2. Make turtle have the same ease to get their scutes please. 3. Thank you Mojang for giving good armor to wolves. I was so worried it would suck.

I'm pleasantly surprised that the armadillo armor is equivalent to diamond horse armor and not the leather one...but it doesn't fully feel like a sufficient protection for dogs. It's nice to have, and the dog looks cool in it, but I'm not sure if it will make players who were worried to get a dog because they were so prone to dying, actually feel like the armor's changed things enough for them to get a dog now.

IMO this isnt enough. The dog is still going to die. It takes 1 creeper explosion, 1 tnt, 1 piece of lava, or just a few mobs at once for it to die. Let us enchant the armor, or add a chest like a llama, or atleast fix their ai so they don't just jump off cliffs/into lava.

I'll say this much: they are delivering what they promised, which wasn't much. They could, though, take this opportunity to improve the AI of pets to make them not die to lava, suffocation, etc. I'm still fairly disappointed that Mojang continues to hold up the mob vote when they could, and I am positive this is the case, add all three mobs. I cannot see, from a software engineer's perspective, any reason to not do so other than some kind of insane marketing strategy they might be trying to tackle, which I cannot see how would benefit the company in anyway. I would love for them to just listen more to the community presses, even if they don't have to, given it's the company's game, but just to try to be more open to suggestions and stuff...

The armor needs to be way stronger to compensate for how week the dogs are within the game. One creeper explosion is almost certain death for the dogs, even with armor

Honestly i feel like for it be worthwhile and make dogs viable it should at least double their defence, or at least take enchantments, imagine if you could put like blast prot and feather falling on the dog armour, that'd make em so much safer just traveling around Also, these would be kinda silly but given the idea of boot enchants on dog armour, dogs with frost walker and soul speed would be hilarious

they have not delivered,as the wold still dies extremely easily and quickly to fire,creepers and similar just like before,normal mobs wearnt the main issue

I play Bedrock on my phone, and I gave up on scutes, it's just too time-consuming. I guess it's the same for armadilloes. I've also realized I do not need to tame all wolves, so I can leave my stack of bones at home and free an inventory slot. I'll leave my doggies home without an armour. No shade on Mojang or the Cap, it's just not my thing. Thanks Captain!

This update reminded me of some of my old ideas and inspired new ones and even if Mojang doesn't add this officially, I hope someone who knows modding & wants to make a pet-themed one will do it. Some of my ideas are: 1. Pet beds - when placed down, you can assign any pet to it (dog, cat, parrot, whatever naturally follows you when tamed) and it allows you to choose whether they follow you or stay in a closed-in area or within a set radius. That way you can keep them home without them just sitting in one place. - can be used as a respawn point for pets, even if it only works once and then needs repaired/replaced it'd still be nice (but preferably unlimited, functioning like the player's bed) - different types specific for different pets, like a two-block-tall perch for a parrot, a one-block-sized box or 2x2x2 cat tree for a cat, a 2x2x1 dog bed, or a little 2x2x2-block doghouse for the dogs! - especially if it's just the standard, pad-on-the-floor type bed, some customization would be nice, just changing the main color alone would be good enough 2. Treat pouch - allows you to store whatever food item heals your pet - holds multiple types while only using one inventory slot - holds up to a full stack per pouch slot of any pet food types - when in your inventory, automatically feeds your nearby pets when they get injured - upgradable to add more slots?? 3. Stray feeding station (does not work on villagers) - attracts nearby non-hostile animals when filled with that animal's preferred food - increases spawn rates of animals whose food is inside - decreases distance away from untamed animals before they are spooked & run away - decreases the quantity of food items needed to tame animals - decreases the time for untamed animals to quit being aggro when accidentally hit I don't know how, but am very willing to help in any way I can if anyone wants to make any of these ideas.

Make them enchantable, dyeable and hell even upgradable. Then improve their AI (possibly even by adding more commands and the ability to issue commands at a distance, possibly a use for the goat horns) then this’ll be a fantastic addition to wolves and make them useful.

The only things I could ask for wolf armor are enchantments and dying it different colors. Also the ability to armor trim it to give the armor itself different designs.

Thank you for demonstrating the brush in survival rather than creative. Loads of clips online show the brush function in creative and don't experience the brush durability, leading people to believe that you can infinitely get scutes in-game.

Now only if can make glow Squid ink more useful like making armor glow and wolf armor glow

Yo if dogs could also carry chests that would be such a game changer for PvP because if one of ur friends hit the dog it would tp to u with for example a new set of armour and some pots 🤯

Armadillos eat insects, invertebrates, fruit, eggs, and small animals. They even eat carrion aka rotting corpse. So makes sense they breed with spider eyes. They live in rainforests, grasslands, and semi-deserts. So it'd be cool if the design changed in those bioms.

Does the armour also stop dogs from walking into fire or off ledges? Otherwise it's just as useless taking dogs anywhere as before.

I honestly feel that they should just change like the AI of the wolf like make it to were like there's different types of like jobs for the wolfs like hunter dogs or like putting like backpacks on dogs so you can use them as storage to give it more the incentive to take the wolfs with you or maybe they can be used as transportation like have them pull a sled or something
