This not only looks great, works well and is surprisingly compact, but is also exceptionally reliable. I messed up delivering power a bunch of times but the door righted itself every time. Unlike half of the doors I've designed where I've had to re-build the thing after a single mistake. Genuinely awesome build and also, massive props to the quality of the tutorial also. Goes at pretty much exactly the right speed for the most part.
I just built this as my first forray into redstone and it's so cool. My first attempt wouldn't open after I closed it, one set of pistons stayed extended and weren't pulled so I think it was a repeater timing mistake, I couldn't figure it out, so I rebuilt it from scratch and it works, thank you! :)
Listen to High School Debaters "spread" (speed + read, it's used to read out as much evidence as you can in your speeches) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-31AFA6HJThc.html, 350-450 wpm is the general speed (6 - 7.5 words per second)
The coolest part about this is the torch and piston connectivity, I was a Java player since 2010-2011. I know and used the quazi-connectivity in Java which is a cool but semi-complicated application/circuit. Though I have never seen some of the trick for Redstone in bedrock, but the strange connectivity with diagonally connecting torches and pistons just blew my mind. I didn't know such a trick existed. This tutorial opened my mind to so many ideas. Awesome work Mr. BowTieMan!

Hey Bow Tie Man, love to see new vids come out, I have been working on a bedrock cube door. The one Mumbo made. I have been doing this for 5 years now and it normally comes easy to me but this one I’m struggling with. Any possibility you could try making a tutorial on it. I might need to look at it in a new perspective
Also, really nice design for the 8 by 8 my old one broke in the new bee update and I have gotten very mad. You inspire me with new redstone ideas every day, we’ll week lol. The honey blocks are useful but I like when things are more seemless
I was making a build for an English assignment (if you want the story I can tell it in a reply), and when I was building it, I made the entrance first. Redstone completely slipped my mind, and I thought I was going to have to put some regular doors in the middle for actual function. I built an 8x8 frame, and then the idea of making a piston door finally clicked. I was looking all over the internet for 8x8 piston doors in Bedrock (because my main platform is the Switch), and nothing was showing up. I decided to give up on a sliding 8x8, and went with your flush 4x4. The due date came and went and the idea of an 8x8 flowed out of my thoughts... Until now! I love the design! I only with it came out 17 days earlier.
thank you so much for this tutorial! I've been looking everywhere for a bedrock 8x8 door tutorial. I'll be grinding for resources to build this on my smp 😀
It just amazes me how good you are with redstone on Bedrock! They’re aren’t many people as good as you. Funny thing is the way I found out about you was by watching Mumbo Jumbos video of him trying Minecraft Bedrock redstone and someone in the comments mention how great you are with bedrock so I searched you up and now we are here. Keep up these amazing videos cuz I’m horrible with bedrock redstone and a little more comfortable with Java😅
Ah thanks *so* much! Honestly it's just time... I play Minecraft way too much 😉 That's so awesome to here that you got recommended to me, on a mumbo video no less! Fantastic 😁 Thanks so much for great feedback 👍🏻👍🏻
The Bow Tie Man I also saw people mentioning you today on reddit at r/Minecraft. It’s cool to see people talking about you and recommending others to you.
I tested it on 1.17 and it worked great, be careful on the placing of the observer on 21:49 since if you place it in a wrong way it will repeat the piston stuff, to repair this check the bottom pistons that pushes the observers if it has an air space if it does, power the piston on top of it.
This is some mind blowing stuff and I know how hard redstone is on Bedrock Edition and this just adds hope to the redstone engineering department of Minecraft BE.
Other comments suggest that this still works and I therefore did something wrong. I'm not mad. Just disappointed in myself. I'm very very disappointed in myself, thus I shall go to bed now. I hope that some day I will figure out what in the world I'm doing. Goodnight.
The Bow Tie Man goes 8sps average at 2:12 and continues for 16 seconds. He manages 128 syllables. Rap God = 9.6sps (83%) Godzilla = 11.3sps (71%) [Captions] So, for this amazing build, you're gonna need 30 regular pistons, 118 sticky pistons 98 observers, 22 repeaters, 10 redstone torches 82 redstone dust, 4 redstone blocks 16 comparators, 16 furnaces, 16 rubbish blocks 32 slime blocks, 43 honey blocks 1 levers, 16 slabs, 50 immovable blocks 26 glass blocks, 119 blocks for redstone to go on 64 for your door itself And how many blocks you need for decoration
Wow I'm quite impressed with myself there 😅😅 because I don't even like Rap music haha And just a side note, when rapping, wouldn't they choose words which go together as it were? Instead of just reading out a list haha... Yeah I'm quite happy with that 😂 Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻
Omg. It took me four days to build the second part and get it working. I rebuilt over and over. This door is so cool I just couldn't give up. I'm 46, probably why I'm not good a video game. Thank you so much for this door. Going to look great is my star wars base with a tie fighter a few blocks away like it just came out of the door. Thank you thank you.
I had just built this on my realm for my dwarven mine that I'm building. (PS4 Bedrock) And I can confirm that this does work, of course it seemed a Little laggy as my wifi isn't the best in the world. But it still works. It opens and retracts. Now one thing I'd like to point out is that when you place one of the blocks that triggers the machine to move as you're still building it. 12:09 The machine doesn't seem to react, but I pressed on, and to my knowledge, it will still work even if it doesn't do the pulse thing. This thing ate through all my redstone and honey blocks, but it was worth it in the end. One of the things I did was put in a few redstone lamps on the edges of the decorative part of the door, and blocks of redstone along the framing so when the door is closed, the lights are on, but when the door opens the lights shut off and the interior hallway lights light up. It doesn't affect the door so I was happy it worked, and it turned out great.
You are great youtuber, it's obvious that you're working on videos hard, you give us only the best designs that you think of, not some builds that you work on 5 minutes, you try to reply on most of the comments, so you are really kind to us viewers, your videos are fun to watch and last but definitely not least: you are wearing bow tie, and bow ties are cool! Thank you for everything you are doing on RU-vid.
Help! I'm at 13:57 and my doors are only retracting by two then the sticky positions loose their grip and the door doesn't fully open. Is it lag or did I do something wrong?
I don't care if you don't enunciate the words(lol), please read it AS *FAST* as you possible can, I just wanna hear it, then you can read it however, so we can actually hear the words
bruh same, first some pistons weren't getting powered to push the honey and slime, and then the piston at 12:10 wouldn't fire. I'd hate to go to a different tutorial, mainly because it took me forever to gather the stuff i needed
@@CraftyMastermanhaha I wasn't saying that... But for my build... Slime is OK? 😉 I'm slowly trying to convert you to the way of the slime block haha 😆😉
My friend has realm and man I'm gonna load with redstone I already have 3x3 piston door a normal 1x2 piston door I'm gonna add a this door And a redstone portcullis also a hidden staircase door and more to come I'm gonna crash this thing
Technically this is an 8 by 8 Stickystone door. Because it is not a normal Piston door or slimestone Piston door, as it does use honey blocks. Never the less I am still impressed
Hi dude, i build this in my flying lava cube base. Made the door orange and black with a giant capital T in the middle. Epic base with the most epic door ever. How do you even make these circuits up! Very smart another hats off to you. Thanks for keeping this game fun my dude
@The Bow Tie Man K, so ... as soon as I had this up and running, I started walling it in and I screwed up by using a movable block - and not immovable near the slime and honey. so now the top 6 move and the bottom 2 rows retract once and then stop... any idea where the fix might be? It's all off kilter now. What should I replace to resync this all?
@@siimpboyy9059 ah thank you, tbh redstone can be infuriating, especially when you are learning... I know I would of liked some help when I was figuring it out 😂
2 months ago i built your 6x6. It took 17 hours, and I had to destroy it and start over. It was a huge vertical monster. The last update made it stop working, soooooooo I built it again. NOW you come out with a smaller set up 8x8. I hope Beethoven pukes redstone dust on your Observer and makes it frown. I am so totally building this.
@@TheBowTieMan Sir, I am implementing this build into my castle entrance, nice decorative design. I would like a draw bridge to retract to add to the build. 4 wide, 5 long each way. Your 2 wide just doesn't look right. Please and thank you?
6:36 when i place the redstone torch the piston that is connected with slabs does not push i didnt do anything wrong tho???? OK i think i found why for some reason pistons cant push furnance on mine so i used composters and fed tem 1 kelp hope it helps
You using obsidian instead of glazed terracotta made me think. This would be even more amazing if you made a full ring of obsidian and added a pop up portal lighter. Making this both an impressive entrance and an awesome nether portal.
Just built in Bedrock 1.16.22 and it worked. HOWEVER, when you build it, one of the back end columns gets shifted up which breaks the build/door so you need to rebuild/fix the column and then it will work.
Oh one more thing thank you so much I've always wanted to be in a youtubers video or make one of my own so thank you for putting up that screen shot in the comments last video.
I like the new intro of u sprinting into the camera. Also, now you have sentenced urself to a life of constantly upgrading. The next you must complete is 16x16. Then 32x32. And so on
@@TheBowTieMan Lol. Hey, I still have that Sandstone Superflat world. This time, it's infinite!. Here www.mediafire.com/file/1bv402ksyeex9jn/For_BTM_Only_%2528Beta_1.15.0.51%252B%2529.zip/file
