Finally a simple one that works. Now to find a way to expand it to go one more higher and down without having to do more expanding in width. But tried so many others that went up 2 and down 2 that were so much more complicated and just as simple that didn’t work. Yet this one did. So I’m happy for now.

Instead of buttons I like to hook gates and metal doors up to daylight sensors. Looks cleaner and if your caught outside after dark that's on you, better set up a temporary camp till morning

I’ve been trying to build this in bedrock but I noticed that the second row of piston on the bottom wasn’t pushing up. If anyone has advice please let me know!

So I built the bottom part and it work like 3 times and now the top piston won't work. Rebuilt it completely and again worked once and then stopped now it won't work at all... on bedrock addition can you offer and suggestions

as of the newest update 1.19.7 I think it was, this did not fully work. Copied to a T and the 2nd piston would not go up on the lower section. I had to improvise which was easy enough but made this design need 1 more block under ground for height to work properly.

Can you explain what you did for a redstone novice? I'm trying to build it now and having the same issue with the pistons not moving.

@@mattobrien8154 I am also a redstone novice. We took the lower redstone area and moved it over 1 so that the redstone dust at the lowest section doesn't interact with the redstone dust on top of the observers since they were at an angle from each other. I can't remember why what I did needed to be a block lower. It was actually done for my daughter so she was the one actually placing the blocks. I have as just guiding her so my memory is garbage about it. I'll take a peak at her game to see what exactly was done differently. Just reply again here so I get the notification in case I forget.

I have tested it: if you put more than one row of gravity affected blocks on a piston, except the base ones, all the other ones break when the piston moves. Any tips?

Very simple design, works like a charm. Anyway i think is a beutiful but dnagerous way to enter your base because you need your time to open and close the gates, mean while you can ve a fucking creeper behind you 😂

I liked the tutorial but I have been struggling getting the stuff needed especially the observer cause you need quartz in order to craft one and in order to get quartz ,you need to get access to the nether which I don't have yet in my survival world. So maybe make one that is cheap for survival players if it's possible so that I can continue building my castle gate in my village, but for now am gonna continue building my castle wall and try getting the stuff I needed for these build (castle gate) Thanks though!
