On the drill if you put some filters on the bottom of the chests then you can filter out item such as cobblestone or other blocks. It could reduce the amount of chests you need to search, as all items picked up on the drill go to one chest if there is only one on there. Just an idea and I’m not sure if it would work. I have been testing with an improved version if the drill on a creative world and made a contraption that is EXACTLY like your except you do not have to fill it up with coal manually, if you put a deployer above where you would put the minecart then give it a coal filter, supply it with some starter coal. Then that deployer will fuel the minecart with the coal it's mined. A simple adjustment but it saves a lot of time and allows the machine to go on forever without help of the player.
Noice vid, finally i know how to build a miner which runs on sources and will stop after coal is out. Btw can the miner only be 2blocks high? Or can i make it high as it fits in the chunk? Cause 2 blocks high is pretty small
You can make it as large as you want! There is a limit tho set in the create config for how large a contraption can be. I believe that is 2048 blocks? I could be wrong, but you can check via /create config
You can save on deployers by just using them in a box around the minecart to create a safe area. The drills can then be extended quite a bit above, below, and beside the contraption
Oh 100% - I actually did that in my 100 days series and it worked great - I figured for more ease of use you could do it this way and well it will keep you safer in the nether :)
Mine uses a 5x5 grid ahead of the drill head that drills out a 3x3 grid inside thats lit. I've found it effective against lava, spawns, and water in the tightest package
I read this after watching and building, and my furnace wasnt working so i tried this. Similarly it didn't work so I assumed user error and figured out a solution. Powered rails and a deployer with redstone torches. It's a simple swap and doesnt expand the drill at all. Thanks for the inspo.
Can you design one of these that utilizes the Redstone link controller. I've tried but I'm just terrible at making these but I think it should be possible even if it's just to stop it and start it
Hypothetically I believe it could work, however I have never done that before - maybe try reaching out to the peeps in my discord someone might have done something similar
It shouldn't work. When it becomes an Entity, all blocks stop doing their functions, except those specifically programmed to do so, like Drills and Deployers. In other words, any redstone components just won't work while this contraption is connected to the minecart.
something really annoying that happens to me too many times is the furnace in a minecraft has to be picked up first before the cart assembler and i have to rebuild it every time

Not sure if you had tried this while testing, but could a deployer with a coal filter be used to allow it to automatically power the furnace engine? You could place it similar to how the rail deployer is positioned.
I was just thinking this too. It seems like it should be possible, since my understanding is a deployer acts exactly like a player clicking, but I'm not sure, as I haven't played around too much with Create.
Please be careful with a large miner. If the miner has many chests and you collect the contraption with a wrench , you may be NBT banned. Additionally, super glue placements count as an entity, so slime may be potentially better if you notice lag in your world
There seems to be no episode six? When I click on the recommendation marked six you say “welcome back to episode five of the create mod tutorial series” correct me if I’m wrong.
Yup there is an episode 6 - in the last episode I mistankenly said episode 5 when it was supposed to be 6. I guess that is what happens when you have so many series going on at once lol
