Oh Lord I was about to be like "how am i gonna get a saddle for my brand new horse?!" and i found this one like thank you so much for making this tutorial!
you don't need any advancements to craft it but if If it doesn't work with the .zip for you just extract the .zip and take the normal folder then it should work.
