Just finished building this in a modded survival world with some friends, took me a few minutes to figure a few bits out (most the parts when the wood framework stuff appeared and I had to figure out how the blocks behind it were) but overall simple to follow in regards to how detailed the actual balloon is. Got it done in about 2 hours and a half.

look fantastic, shame the tutorial is impossible to follow just because of the fact of the floating buttons, and unable to see the actual pattern of the balloon, next time separate the video into the basket structure,basic shape of the balloon, and then adding all the buttons and lanterns trap doors and wooden framework . tried to make it in survival ended up making my own

I spent the afternoon giving this a go. A lot of it was really easy to follow. A few places looked complex when I first got to the layer but a few minutes of staring and fiddling around sorted it out. I can understand where others are having trouble as a few sections were slow going until I found the pattern and realising that the white sections are a mirror of the coloured sections made it quicker to finish up areas. The entire thing can be spawn proofed with carpets, wooden buttons and a few extra glow stone, so it’s a viable survival base. Overall it took roughly 4.5 hours start to finish. I did it in Creative but used scaffolding to practice to for my Survival World. Honestly it’s a PITA rearranging scaffolding every few layers but it was totally worth it because the balloon is gorgeous. Cheers for the tutorial, really appreciate the block count! I look forward to doing another one!

I made an automatic ever color wool farm in my survival world so I needed a use for all that wool so im just gonna build a bunch of hot air balloons above my base

I made a mob farm in mine. Switch out the bottom iron bars for cobble and prismarine on the edges and built the whole thing out of prismarine and white wool and put a hopper chain into a small (very small) collection area. Then just flooded it half way down. Might use the extra inside space as an afk platform with extra storage 😁

it took ages to build this goofy ballon and then i placed a fire on the netherrack and the whole ballon burned off wtf

Beautiful work, I tried following but at 12:30 it gets a lil bit confusing, maybe cause of the 2 block layers, i would be nice to be able to see layer by layer at least on a few after the 2nd ring. But I'm gonna keep trying and see what the result is

I think if I can manage to follow the tutorial upside down, this would be useful for an onion dome too.

Thank you for all the time you spent building so many layer-by-layer models! This is indeed a complex shape that’s hard to thoroughly demonstrate: just when you get familiar with the wool pattern as it builds, the pattern shifts a bit to flatten the sides for the “light bulb” shape. But your balloon is So Much Prettier and more Realistic than the smaller-balloon tutorials, and done by hand (unlike some giant balloon tutorials)!! I’m looking forward to reaching a skill level where I can take on this project. Saving and subscribing!!

I noticed you use bedrock a lot, either as a main building block or a block for foundation of a building. Is there a reason why or do you just like bedrock?

Great tutorial! Got it done on my server, looks soo great. It might have been nice with like some more in depth details on some of the levels, as you say in the tutorial, that shape is hard to get perfect, and sometimes some blocks are hidden away beneath blocks. But still, thank you for this! 🎉

I built an Iron farm inside :) its big enough. Just have to place buttons or carpets to prevent Iron golems spawning outside of the farm

Dude!!! This is the HARDEST block by block I've ever seen! WTF! You don't explain how to make any of the shapes, you zoom and pan too quickly, you don't explain anything! It took me 8 HOURS to watch the first half and I'm a decent builder.

Is the download still available for this balloon? Even following along I can't seem to get it right! LOL

You are a great builder and all but you really need to make tutorials for builds like this easier, the 2 layer system is clunky (floating buttons, you having to spin around the build to explain what you're seeing, complicated parts of the build being even more complicated). You don't give block distances or anything, so when I'm trying to figure out how far away from the build these floating slabs for lanterns are I just have to use trial and error, which is very annoying considering this is something floating up in the sky so I have to use scaffolding and risk falling. "Look at the world download" isn't a very useful suggestion, this build is huge, and you do things in layers of two. If I looked at the world download every time something you said confused me in this video I would have to switch to that every single layer. Great builds, not so great tutorial. I built this in survival and hated every second of it

I get that you think you’re doing a block by block tutorial because you’re showing steps of the build, but there are key details that are left out- my advice: take a look at other build tutorials that show them LITTERALLY building it and includes block count overlays. I’m sure it will take more effort on the editing end, but the payoff for viewers will be phenomenal. It gets quite frustrating, quite quickly when I have to keep pausing and counting blocks on my screen to try and estimate what’s going on. You’re creative ability is great and I’m sure if you make the vids a bit more user friendly you’ll do great. :)

it was a great tutorial but next time can you not do the step by step process as if it was like a 3d printer (like layers from bottom to top) cuz like this makes it pretty confusing for the lower levels

I love this design, it's beautiful. But please, for the love of god, build the object DURING the tutorial while stating what goes where. I made it to a few levels into the balloon itself before I started getting confused because everything looks EXACTLY the same, but obviously it's not. The layers are all very different and trying desperately to figure out how many pieces of wool go WHERE is a complete and utter nightmare. It's also very hard to keep track of the wood pieces because you never point out things like "As you can see here, we've stacked two spruce plank blocks, but just above it there's only one, they're connected by these fences" or whatever. You offer nothing but 'here, look at this. Ok, now we're moving on." and it's not enough. And for the record, I did download your map. It's sort of helpful, but I literally have to sit there and SKETCH OUT EVERY LAYER because, since I can't log into two instances of Minecraft at the same time, it's COMPLETELY USELESS because I have to log out and go back to my actual build constantly, and for someone with ADD, that suffers from severe issues with Object Permanence (If I can't see it, my brain likes to forget it exists), this is a complete and utter nightmare to try to build. Please, for the love of all that is holy, watch some other tutorials before making another one. Specifically, the ones whose comments aren't full of 'Couldn't follow it, mate D:' comments. You will find that the people who go through a build step by step and take the time to explain each block and where it goes, usually tend to have a bigger following, better understanding, and much happier followers. Again, this is a beautiful build. I love it to pieces. But I shouldn't be close to tearing my hair out, 5 HOURS in to a 20 freakin minute tutorial, omfg.
