@@brockalee You can do Carrots, Beetroots, Potatoes, but you can't do Wheat; they take Bread instead.

@@brockalee the problem with wheat is in seeds. Villagers cannot compost seeds here because composter is blocked, which means that their inventories will fill up with seeds and the breeder will stop working eventually

Here are some things to note with this You want to make sure your beds have at least 2 air blocks above them. If they do not, the villagers will not see the beds as accessible and will fail to breed. Also at the end, you'd likely want to make an adult villager separator, which is just a 1 block tall area for the baby villagers to stay, with a water-logged slab above them. Once they grow up, they will clip into the slab and get pulled up into another water stream, which you can then feed into a minecart transport system or whatever you prefer.

As of 2/21/23, this farm works fully in Minecraft Java Edition. If the babies don't immediately run towards the beds, it's okay because at night they will most likely go towards the beds and be trapped. I also saw a comment that says it's better to put a non-farmland block by the trapdoors. (non-hoed) If does help as it makes there be almost no instances of the babies getting stuck before the trapdoors. Nothing else to say except that. Cya

@@LUMAFR you should put the roof to prevent lighting hitting villagers and turning them into witches. I think it used to be true that the roof had to be few blocks higher (so not just directly above their heads), but I don't remember how many blocks that should be. I think if they dont have enough space above their heads they will fail breading. I would leave like 3 blocks above them just to be sure.

As of 3/15/23 this does work on bedrock. There’s a few things you have a to do differently though. the dirt in front of the trap door has to be normal dirt for the babies to run towards the beds. and for they will only breed by the amount of beds you have, I expanded the bed room in each direction about 4 blocks and added some more beds. This consistently works for me and they will breed 10+ in minutes.

As of 3/18/23 in 1.19.4 Java, the farm works well. Just make sure both the villagers and the beds have at least two blocks of height above them. Ran into this issue because I decided not to make mines open air. Hope it helps anyone who made it to fit their world aesthetic but didn't work at first!

worked great, to help the baby go towards the bed I used a non hoed dirt block right in front of the trapdoor and it worked straight away.

I can confirm this still works in bedrock 1.20 in April 2024. You should probably add a few more beds if you’re looking to set up a villager trading centre, this makes it a lot faster. Works really fast aswell.

Make sure mob griefing is turned on otherwise it is impossible to breed villagers. It took me several hours to realize this.

They wont stop lmao, easily got 10 for my trading hall for now, and while I was clearing land for an iron farm, I was able to take 12 villagers from that hole and it was still more than I could count just from looking at them. its been a day or two and im pretty sure they're about to start entity cramming

I used this in my hardcore world (video series coming out!) and it works like a charm. I jump started it with bread to move things along quicker, but I think they're doing just fine. Used beet roots instead cuz I couldn't find carrots.

I started my hardcore world in 1.20.2, so yes! and actually, it produces a LOT of villagers...i mean, it's insane. i can't say it now because i have a video coming out tomorrow or saturday and I'll talk about it then, but just know this villager breeder is amazing. @@icyzz2411

Finally finished with some modifications. I made the carrot field 7x7 but added a row of cobble each end so baby villager could go into trapdoor. Made bedroom 3x5 so 3 beds on each side and iron door opposite trapdoor. Then the wall between beds and farm is flowering azeilia blocks. The backside I built honeycomb farm with 3 hives a block opposite trapdoor then 3 more hives. It works except getting into minecart 1st baby escaped and was eaten by mushroom cow then I put glass block at end of water stream so 2nd baby is jumping under the glass block gotta wait to see if it suffocate when grows up or goes in cart.

If you are building this underground, put more than one torch inside the farm villager pit at 4:18. I had a problem where I couldn't plant carrots despite the farmland being properly watered and it was because my light level was at 6. I put some torches around and it fixed the problem!

Such a simple build! The only thing that you should have mentioned was to leave a normal dirt block in front of the trap door otherwise the baby villager won’t be able to go through. (: I also put more beds so I can breed more.

Edit: even though my breeder is underground by 15 levels and 60 blocks away from my other villagers, beds were the issue. I spammed 20 beds in the area around the farm wall and they started cranking kids out.

(1.19.3) I am having problems with the breeding process, they start breeding but dont finish and the thunder clouds pop up after the hearts. i built this to the designs exact requirements and size. I have seen other comments saying that they build them and it works in 1.19.3 for them, the bed is not obstructed other than the two trap doors. I built it underground next to my base and thats in deepslate, is that the issue? (edit) since it was underground, the roof needed to be at least 4 blocks high, thanks to a comment, farm works great now! 8/5/23

I personally struggled with the order of operations. Farming the land could have been when I was in that area as well as adding the water down below. Had to dig out a seperate entrance ext to do it. Other than that I struggled with the grid pattern took a few tries to get the right demensions but now that I finally got it caught up to speed it should work well. 😊

21-10-2023 Works on java but I made a glass ceiling so I could watch them as well as over the bed area. They wouldn't breed so I saw the comment with the 2 blocks space above them. So I removed the glass above the field and still nothing, I removed the glass above the beds and they started breeding.

If you decorate this farm, make sure there are 2 full air blocks above the beds and 3 in the space in front of the beds.

@@Wzy_y0 yes. It works. But the pickup doesn't. What I did was to dig in from the back of the farm under the hole where the little villager drops then have rails and I manually push a cart into the villager once adult to pick him up.

If your guys in the box won't turn into farmers, check the rest of your nearby villagers, they're prolly in there. Once it's picked, at least on bedrock, then that villager is stuck to that specific job, even without trades locked in

Technically if you actually build the farm slightly large (9x9 with the dead center as the water & a slab or trapdoor to hide the water and allow the placement of the composter), you can do this farm with only one composter.

I built this have beds for the 2 villagers (in addition to the three in the 3x3 room where the baby try to get to) and composters and everything. I gave both villagers 8 stakcs of carrots after waiting for hours for them to starts breeding but they wont take the stakcs of carrots... I've waited for many hours and during the day when they are supposed to breed. any help? :)

Ran into an issue while building underground. The breeders won't stop trying to get to their beds, getting stuck at the trapdoors permanently. They won't farm, and won't breed. Ran some experiments. Aboveground farm works fine but underground farm always breaks with the same problem. Went to extend the farm a little and put two beds inside which the breeders can access. Finally worked. The beds outside still makes the baby villager fall. Just needed to make sure the breeders won't break the crops when leaving the bed.

You can build it above at ground and extend the falling pit so they fall down where you want them.

@@BlazeDude I can do that as last resort. I'm building an underground city in a 16 chunk chasm I found under spawn, so I'm building different farms inside while blending them with the deepslate city build. So, there's basically nothing above ground and a single villager breeding box there would be a sight for sore eyes. The breeder is working fine now with the two beds inside. It's not breaking for now although it's six blocks wider.

I modified it a bit by extending the water all the way and putting a pressure plate connected to the dropper at the end- baby villagers will automatically be brought up

1/15/24 Farm is working great in java 1.20.4 and if the villager aren't breeding then just add more bed by making a second floor towards the bed area

I went about 150 blocks (a little over) from every bed this still worked great by the beds but I can’t seem to get all the babies to go towards the beds at night they just seem to want to stay in the farm? A few make it but I come back and check every once in a while and I’ll have 4 adults in the farm any advice? I even tried putting a few trap doors at head height to block the adults from the baby trying to go into it testing now but still curious if anybody knows what to do

Use carrot only..bcs potato will give you poison potato…and wheat will give you seed..so the villager inventory will full with useless stuff..meanwhile carrot doesn’t drop poison or seed..

I did everything exactly right but they've only ever made one villager. When they do decide to breed (the hearts and stuff) it eventually does not succeed and shows clouds after the hearts. What's happening?

Does it need to be exactly the same, because I basically did the same thing just a different design (9x9 circle instead of the square) but they aren’t breeding? Or how long does it usually take for them to make kids?

I built it underground, and it did not worked. After a bit of research, I found that the beds, to be valid, have to have 2 empty blocks above (I think it means that if your bed it placed at Y level 0, then Y level 1 and 2 must be clear of any block, even slab, and of course above the 2 blocks length occupied by the bed). After digging just a bit the ceiling, the farm worked just fine. Some bread stacks to kickstart it, and replaced the carrots by wheat that I believe to be more efficient. Enjoy !

How do you keep the baby villagers in the water. Mine keep jumping in that gap between the glass block and the powered rail and then suffocate when they grow up

The way I fixed it was to make sure the dirt next to the trap door isn't tilled

Works as intended, something to note for those singeplayer or mutiplayer on Java make sure mobgriefing is set to true or else they wont pick up the food and breed. They just look at it like idiots.

@@justaduster it still works. You need to change the block in front of the trapdoor to normal dirt instead of farmed. I’m getting like 8 babies a day for some reason.
