I truly love how the hunters discern the twist, legitimately puzzling it out like they're trying to get out of an escape room and the twist is the key to the door.

Yeah but the way they do it is less like a controlled, multi step escape room with a key, and more like a single door with a keypad on it that they're just trying every possible combination in until it opens

theres a great strat when youre a hunter and incredibly toxic go open the end portal and drop like as many dripstone as possible into the center, it is kept in stasis since the nether isnt loaded in, as soon as the target goes to the end they immediately die
