Was I the only one who was always just wandering around in the lobby, looking around how pretty it looked, always trying to get into secret places (I still remember all of them) and just vibe around without even playing the minigames most of the times??

These minigames are pretty underrated, especially now Edit: Ok apparently some tracks from this got into smash ultimate, so this will end up getting some recognition, which is nice

This was my favorite age of Minecraft. This is when Story Mode was cool, before the aquatic update on the Xbox One, before all these minigames were scrapped up and left behind to the old Xbox version, before Bedrock came out. I loved these minigames, which is why I am the master of PvP on Xbox now. (Sorry I don't mean to brag) But this is true Minecraft, and I wish that they would carry these minigames back onto PC or back onto Xbox, and Wii U, and Switch and stuff. Plz like if you agree. (Also this Xbox 360 edition is basically how I grew up with Minecraft, so I would like to see some of it return.)

Damn the crossover version really killed console Minecraft and all of its unique elements.

0:20 Everyone spawns. You see the middle chests in front of you, the adrenile rushes through you as the timer counts down. You prepare yourself. BEGIN! Pvp unabled for the seconds you have. You decide to try and take the middle chests but everyone is already taking them, so you head to the side. You're parkouring over the cavern waters, racing a few other players to the top loot. You find some stuff along the way. Pvp is now enabled. You keep ongoing as fast as you can. You parkour across and reach the chests, seeing 2 players fighting before the parkour, you gather the chests and run the hell outta there. You run, searching for chests but avoiding fighting due to the stuff you have not being enough. People are dying left and right but you do not care, you are just NEEDING to get as much good loot as possible. 3:11 You decide to rest your hands for a little bit, before seeing a distant player with less stuff as you. You run after them, they run, but you manage to catch up and kill them, taking whatever good loot they had. 4:26 You run, having a strong feeling another person is after you. You go into 3rd person to see their gear, seeing that you could potentially take them on, you turn around and fight. You seem to be winning but you're down to 4 hearts, you run. Parkouring to the top chests again, the person after you fails a parkour jump and falls onto a lilypad, you jump down into the water and get their loot as fast as you can. You have better gear now. You begin searching for players to kill while still looting some chests that have decent loot. You see someone and chase after them. You manage to kill them and see their stuff. You have a full inventory and begin getting rid of stuff you dont need like swords less as good as your current one. You begin running around the map searching, but unable to find anyone. 8:32 The timer appears and you see the nametags of everyone. You look around for the nearest nametags but get ambushed. You begin running as the person did about a heart and a half through your armour. You manage to juke and kill them. ......... 10:02 You finish getting their good loot and go to the top 2 chests again. You find the enchanted Diamond Sword with Fire Aspect 2. You feel proud. Looking around you see a nametag trying to get up to you so you jump down into the water, checking the mid chests as no one is around. You find other good stuff. You have probably the best gear currently. You parkour out of mid wanting to get at least half diamond and an enchanted bow. You're being stealthy now as you have invis now, no one can see your nametag only the armour. You keep running and parkouring around, being hidden opening chests to find not the bestt loot. 13:50 The timer is counting down to the end, everyone needs to kill everyone. There's fighting everywhere. You're fighting more than one person but its too much, you begin running and the other people are fighting eachother, you make yourself invis with another potion. You hide and try to heal as fast as possible, hoping no one comes by as you realize you desperately need better armour. They player number is falling down, getting to be only 5 people left. You sigh and keep searching for better armour as it is your highest priority 16:41 It's gotten to the point where you need to be stealthy as the remaining players have at least 1 diamond piece on. 2 are fighting so you begin carefully searching the Cavern for better loot, the majority of chests having bad armour loot. You keep parkouring around, looking through every chest you find, being invisible. You find more potions, more food, but thats about it.. You keep going around the map, still desperately trying to find better armour. You're beginning to worry as someone has died. 4 people now remain, including you. 19:19 You hear a player go down, you look around, seeing a nearby player and they have better gear than you. You begin trying to secretly run away, seemingly managing to be out of sight. You keep opening chests, finding a diamond helmet! 20:50 You're at the top of the map now, where the most 2 most OP chests are... You turn around and see the player... YOU BEGIN RUNNING! RUNNING FOR YOUR DAMN LIFE AS YOU TRY TO LOOT CHESTS AS YOU GO!. YOU'RE PARKOURING AT YOUR BEST, YOU TAKE TIGHT TURNS TO TRY AND LOSE THE PLAYER! YOU KEEP RUNNING, FEARING YOU'RE GOING TO DIE! YOU'RE RUNNING AS FAST AS YOU GOD DAMN CAN IN THIS GAME! YOU TURN AROUND AND HIT THEM BUT THEY DO SO MUCH DAMAGE TO YOU. YOU KEEP TRYING TO RUN AWAY! But..you reach a dead end... Before you know it, you're dying quickly.. 22:13 (Player dead sound effect) You're now a spectator. . . . You watch as the person goes after the final player... You sigh, knowing you did your best. Maybe you'll have better luck next round... The player kills the final one and wins the round, everyone gets taken back to the lobby and waits for the next Battle Round as you hope to win this time. 25:10 It's the same map as previously. The round is about to begin. You look in the direction of the side of the map that leasts to the Top 2. The round begins, you begin parkouring efficently across the water and run up those steps. You reach the Top 2 parkour swiftly before other players could. You parkour across and get the loot. You go to the other side where players could appear and get the other loot, sorting your inventory while waiting. Someone comes by and you kill them. 27:40 After getting your loot you run out of the area, being more stealthy and quick this time. You're more organized than before and faster after knowing what you're doing. You have better stuff, you hear people dying here and there but are more focused on getting the good chests now. You are more powerful than before the timer, ad you're still going around the map, knowing that being in one spot is not really a good idea. You're ongoing around the map, staying stacked on food but now looking for a bow and arrows... 30:51 After a while you begin heading to the top 2 again for the refill, and it eventually happens, you have that Diamond Sword again. You run after the players before they could get better loot. It gets down to there being a few of you left. You wait at mid, seeing everyone else's gear. You run out of mid, going for the weakest player. Things are getting intense as the player count is 3. Now 2 as the other person killed someone else. You both are across the map. You go to the top 2 chests again and the other player begins parkouring up to you. You await for them. They get there, you both begin fighting. You both fall down onto the middle and one dies..... 32:31 You've killed the person after they fell before they could either regen or hit you. You're on half a heart, shaking... That was probably the most intense battle you may have ever done while playing on Minecraft Legacy: Minecraft Battle Mini game...... (Do know I wrote this based off of memory of playing it so i might've did a few things wrong in this but enjoy reading for nostalgia! ^^)

Brother, I want to cry. Earlier this year my Minecraft disk broke down and was no longer useful. Now that I bought the digital version of the game I can't access the old Minecraft anymore. The only thing that remains of my memories are these songs that I listened to every time I entered to play. I never thought that I would ever experience this feeling.

The Wii U version of Minecraft, online edition, has officially been shut down. I've never been more heartbroken. I never even got to say a proper goodbye... Since early 2016, when I was 12, I played this edition. The battle mode was incredible of course, but so too were the worlds I played with my online friends I connected with through Miiverse. I didn't have many friends in elementary school. This was my outlet. I have so many fond memories from my first rodeo playing this. Then I picked it up again in ~2021 ish. Made more memories. Organized entire lobbies full of people in battle mode online, and we all just laughed and had the time of our lives. Cheating, mods, or just dominating the game and getting kills. It is so fond to my heart. I even bought a PS Vita to play the Battle Mode in my senior year of high school. Played with randoms, talked to a few. Not the same, not as active, but still fun. I still played the Wii U edition from 2021 to 2024 occasionally, maybe 5-10 times a year for an hour at a time. But I'm in college now. A sophomore. I found out, on the day it was finalized, that the Wii U servers were being shut down by Nintendo. I was at university, and my Wii U was back home. I never got to do a formal goodbye. A send-off. I hadn't read the warnings. I was, and still am, crushed. It's heartbreaking. No one gets it. But this meant so much to me. The fact I will never get to experience it again in the same innocent way... just heartbreaking. Hopefully someone relates.

i like battle minigame over most modern minecraft server hunger games theyre simple and easy to join and the fact that everyone plays on a controller means no overpowered players who know how to use 360 turns efficiently to kill you in an instant

Feels like 2016-2018 again. I picked up Minecraft Wii U edition at Target on Christmas. I spent hundreds of hours playing with my sister, sometimes reenacting the Tripolar videos with the Mario pack, battling people in minigames, winning with impossible odds.. I wish I could go back

i wish bedrock never happened, everyone stopped playing console once it did, i was waiting for the day when bedwars would come to minigames, and they never did and never will

Console edition is by far the best edition of minecraft even without the new updates. I have played bedrock minecraft and it doesn't compare to console. To this day minecraft wiiu is the mincraft I play the most and I think it will always be that way. The graphics, minigames, and texture packs make console special. Even though I'm sad console is no longer getting updates it doesn't need updates to be a great game. BTW my favorite battle map is castle.

To the people that once ruled PvP cause of these, I feel the same. You and I used to rule the world.

I miss this, i wish it wasnt as underrated as today. I renember being really good at tumble because i was motivated to i really miss playing this game in 2016, along with little big planet, two different things that i have grown up with now. I know I am still a child but wow, time moves fast. Playing these two games were an amazing journey.

I swear, nothing in bedrock/java servers can compare to these minigames. And I really hope that more tracks get added to ultimate or the smash gane after it.

Now some of these songs are in smash. I’m actually happy they used these songs. These are extremely good and I loved them when I played console edition. Nowadays I don’t play it anymore but I still really miss the mini games. This in Smash will revive this again

I still play the console version on my switch because it just feels better. Being able to move in the direction you move your camera in flying mode was really cool. And I liked the sword blocking. And it included a proper tutorial mode when I was still unfamiliar with Minecraft. And you could kick people from your server. When I try playing the bedrock version on there, it just didn’t feel the same. It felt clunky, you couldn’t kick people from you worlds. And don’t forget the bugs that were on there, like that one were you entire console froze if you closed the game. Console version 10/10

I remember hosting games with my friends and having people join, I remember teaming and making friends. I remember having 1v1 showdowns and winning and getting an elytra. I remember going down into beneath the lobby, and all the easter edges in the lobby. so nostalgic

Legacy console is still my favorite version of Minecraft. The love that 4J Studios poured into this was insane. I think they should let 4J have complete control over bedrock edition to be honest. Maybe then it wouldn’t be such a mess.

I just remember so vividly playing this game in my old house whit my wii u in my hands, talking to people while playing, and killing so much players and healing as well it was fun, sprinting while healing was fun. And cool how u can join someone real quick or someone joining you. :) Good moments.

The mini games in 2021 - Battle: It takes some time to join a lobby, but will end up filling up within 20 minutes. Tumble: Takes no time at all to join a lobby, but never fills up. Glide: NOBODY plays it anymore, and you can NEVER find a lobby.

As far as I know, this is the only place on RU-vid where you can find the Battlemode tracks. Very sentimental.

I used to play this on the Nintendo Switch all the time. My main gripe when the Bedrock Edition finally launched for the Switch was that it killed this game's community. We NEED these in Bedrock!

You know what we need? A server that has these minigames, as well as the tutorial worlds (multiplayer and singleplayer), a texture pack to mimic the xbox 360s default gamma settings, and most of all, keep it on 1.15 and above.

I remember all the time I spent playing these… I used to suck at Battle, but one day, it was like a switch flipped, and I was constantly winning. I got kicked from multiple games because people thought I was cheating, which I wasn’t. I was destroying players left and right on all the mini games, not just Battle. I knew all the locations of the best chests in every map, I had unlocked most of the secrets in the lobby, And my online friend group began calling me the Baroness of Battle, the Terror of Tumble, and the Goddess of Glide. But as players went to the newer edition on Xbox One, the pool of people playing the mini games dwindles and dwindles until every server I tried to start remained empty. I remember destroying the weaklings to this music, flying around as a spectator… Those were the good old days.

I'm really happy that the PS Vita has free multiplayer and it stays in the 1.13 update of the game. It's really fun just to take the Playstation with me and play the minigames with random people. I wish that theme could stay with the Minecraft of today: No paid multiplayer, no Bedrock. I want the legacy versions back.
