You also can enable the option "Reduce resolution on Macos" (or something la that) on the adanace tab on the graphics setting to avoid the retina resolution and get more FPS. This is great for the base M1 also
Btw, because of the JVM's garbage collector, it's best not to use more than 6GB of RAM when using heavy resource packs and shaders. There are a lot of crashes reported because of that.
Yeah in addition to that 6GB is enough unless you're running a heavy modpack and if you have more than 16gb just assign 8 but besides that 6GB is enough for most of the modpack/instances and my recommendation is just simply download Fabulously Optimized modpack that is already made for optimization in vanilla mc (uses fabric that is the best for that)
@@jacsthecat7964 A mod pack is a collection of various mods. Mod-packs like Fabulously Optimised, adrenaline or additive are convenient as they usually have a collection 10-20 mods and you don't have to install them individually.
I seriously quit. I really don't understand ive done absolutely everything right and the game still crashes and says "error code 225". I really don't know what to do I have a MacBook Air 2023 M2. so I don't understand why this is happening. I'm so sick of this please help me ive spent like 4 hours on This video.
I want to said, thanks to your videos I have 2 years using the Prism Launcher, is the best option for Minecraft on Mac. I always play with maximum render distance and all the settings to the max and I play with 160-200 fps always. And 100 with shaders.
@@crystalshot724 Minecraft 1.18.1 with shaders on MacMini M1. ru-vid.comGXwWTm3Fzxg?feature=share This video is when I used the Mac mini and using shadders, but also I was using the T Launcher. And as you may know that launcher is not a native version for Mac with Apple silicon processors. The setting is not muchs change just you need a few others mods with Minecraft, some performance mods as fabric, sodium, lithium, etc. Also I use all the time the PrismLauncher.
@@wilebaldoalvarez don't you have around 45 fps in that short tho? I think the one that you said you have 160-200fps is the video with the title: "Top Best Shaders for fabric + Iris - MacOS - Minecraft 1.19", and according to the description, the spec is an M1 Mac right?
No matter what I do, it just keeps failing to launch the instance, saying it is not compatible with Java. The Java console says it is the latest version but the Launcher doesn’t work
Thank you for your video, which resolved my confusion as a new mod user. The key to getting shaders to work is to install the mod menu. This way, you can modify the shader mod you want to enable in the “Video Settings”. Shader mods are not enabled immediately upon entering the game.
@@jacsthecat7964 it does, but only for Minecraft 1.20.6 and after (but for the moment it's the last one). For 1.20.4 and before you should use Java 17.
I tried again today, and it shows me in the log " This instance is not compatible with Java version 17." even though I downloaded java 17 as u said along with the mods that u mentioned, and also tried multiple times with java 21, but it's not working at all
i have a desktop Mac M1, but the highest fps I can get is around 80 and when using shaders even on very low mode its less than 20, I bought it in 2021 not sure if it has smth to do with it, its not like its old tho, and yes i disabled the fps limit, any suggestions?
turn on the option "Reduce resolution on macOS" in Extra of the graphic settings. comes with Sodium Plus or Fabulously Optimized (highly recommended). permits to disable the Retina x2 resolution without visual change and increases FPS a lot.
hi, im stuck at the login microsoft part. the website says succesfully logged in however the prism launcher dosen't detect the account.. is there any way to fix this?
I have a mac m2 pro max (32gb RAM). I installed prism launcher. The game without shaders barely reaches 100 fps, with the (low) shaders I remain at 60 fps, with frequent lag. The problem is that the computer gets too hot. is there anything I can do to improve performance and stop the mac from getting so hot?
hey nice video! ive always used your technique to make mc run well on my Mac. im trying to run 1.20.6 but launcher says I need java 21 that java 17 isn't compatible. maybe im doing something wrong? thanks!
Great video, thank you. But one question,I did everything you said in the video, and still with shaders I have a maximum of like 40 FPS. I run a MN air 2024 M3 with 16gb RAM. also my laptop gets very hot. Do you have any tips? Thanks :)
I got to the part where you open Minecraft, and it wanted me to sign in, so I did. But, every time I sign in, it says my log in was invalid. What do I do?
when I try to install the jdk 17 the installer pops up but immediately I see "Incorrect installer architecture. This installation of JDK 17.0.11 is for arm 64 systems. On this computer please download the x64 installer. Click CLOSE to exit this installation." I downloaded the same one you did but it won't install?
Do not install poly, install prism. Poly is a semi-dead project lead by a guy who wanted to own and make hard decisions on the project. The team of prism is the original team of poly after the bad guy forced them to fork it and it became prism. Hope it helps
This video is great. Thank you. However, now I am having an issue I can't figure out how to fix. I followed all your instructions step by step. Minecraft worked when I started it up after finishing the tutorial. I came back later and now, no matter what I try, the game will not start. It keeps saying "Process exited with code 2." Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can play it on my laptop without Prismlauncher.
Did you install JDK 17? The latest Minecraft versions seem to support only Java versions from JDK 21. Try to reinstall it and change Java version in the settings of the launcher
@@Dmitry_Wolf Hei, I did do that multiple times. What eventually made the difference was changing the version of the mod installer. It was too new for some of the mods I added. Thanks for taking the time to answer, by the way.
When I started downloading the game through prism launcher, the minecraft log stopped and said “this instance is not compatible with Java version 17, please switch to Java version 21” what should I do in this case. Thanks for your help
I accidentally clicked next without installing the desired version of java when prompted. is there any way to install the desired version after I've finished setting up prism?
Do I need to uninstall Minecraft to make this work, I’m having an error code 1 with the mod packs put into Minecraft even though all of the mods are for forge. I can’t make the coding in the terminal for Java 17 if you even need to do that. If someone can answer this that would be amazing. Will Better MC aka Essential Mod work on M1 for 1.20.1 and if anyone has figured it out how did you do it?? Could it be multiple of the same mods messing it up?
hi nice tutorial I install that very well in 1.21, but I want to have a another version in 1.19.2 to have forge mod and I don't know how to do. when I create a instance and select 1.19.2 it doesn't work ( have error message pop up ) I search and don't find, if someone can help me please !
hi andrew! ive been doing all the steps correctly but when i try to install the jk17 java it would not let me it says "Incorrect installer architecture. This installation of JDK 17.0.11 is for arm 64 systems. On this computer please download the x64 installer". i have the mac 10.13.6 high sierra and i downloaded universal and java arm64dmg installer. what am i doing wrong? :(
Bedrock is not compatible with Mac, but I’m thinking we can use if you have the iPhone or iPad version and you share screen to the Mac and connect the keyboard and the mouse. I don’t tested but I thinks is possible.
Prism Launcher is demanding that I create a profile name before launching the game and either telling me that the profile can't be created or telling me the name (which I already had picked) is already in use. Any way around this?
Actually, in my opinion the best way to play Minecraft on your Mac is with PlayCover running the iOS version. It runs at native Mac resolution and the frame rate locks perfectly to the refresh rate of your Mac. It supports controllers. It is Bedrock. It supports everything the iOS version does. It is by far the best way.
@@jlewis7221 recently I came across one called Photon which looks amazing, specifically the clouds/atmosphere and lighting effects, but it can’t run with Distant Horizons and can’t run maxed out on standard Minecraft on Mac because of outdated openGL on macOS. There are other ones I wanted to try that specifically state they don’t work on Macs because of macOS. There are great ones for Mac but the exceptional ones tend not to work
