Minecraft... on Windows Vista? 

Hey. Just to let you know that the reason why the installers dont open is because Vista automatically blocks most of the installers from the internet. You have to right click into the installer, click properties and check the “Unblock” checkbox. This way, even the official legacy launcher will open. Though, since accounts have been migrated to Microsoft, the legacy launcher is useless. So you need a 3rd party launcher that supports microsoft accounts. My suggestion is TLauncher, it might work without extended kernel too, but i’m not too sure.

Use the viata extended kernel you can use it to trick apps into thinking it's on windows 7 or 10

Yes it still does but its incorperated to the modern launcher i bieleve so u dont have to download java seperately
