That overflow bug is hilarious. Because the end point of the biome check is lower than the start point the game basically goes "Starting biome check at y 32735 and going up to -32737 ... oh 32735 is above -32737, guess we are done. Didn't find any biomes that aren't allowed... Alright guys we have the go ahead to start generating".
What's crazy is that there's actually another really deep buried treasure on that last seed. It isn't exposed to the void, but it's buried under a ton of obsidian.
You could potentially open it that chest in survival... but you'd have to use the bedrock breaking techniques which might destroy the chest in the process, so it'd be better with a second person dangling beneath it, just in case. Really odd though.
@@cheesypies That's cool, I've seen flowers on gravel a few times but they don't last long. The waterlogged sand is there until you break it and realise it was waterlogged with a slab inside, it's weird.
I wish someone would make a program to only load one layer of generation at a time so we could see what forms then gets overwritten one step at a time.
I'm still of the standing that desert wells are still pretty important structures Sure most water sources are infinite anyway and most observant people can pick up on it But I like the way that desert wells just put that information out in the open, you can take water from any spot and it runs out, but take from the middle and you get more water, makes you really see what's causing it, that the water isn't just coming from nowhere, its coming from the merger of 2
I really, really enjoyed the explanation for the generation there. Honestly, that might be the one thing that Seed Sunday always lacked for me. Great video!
This is such a strange yet beautiful piece of generation, I hope it becomes an official form. The strange, bulbus caves look so fun to build in, creating surreal hollows
One seed that spawns you at the border of the game is seed: 1234 or something like that I know it's 123 more or less numbers oh and another thing, they changed the border it's not the old border where there's blocks stacked on top of eachother, but instead it's just the world that ends right there Edit: there's also 2 other peacefull seeds by the names of: "Coastal cliff: -1820780390" and "Quite Quarry: 1278040446"
10:47 This is just awe-inspiring, especially with the night vision. So, so cool. Why would you think it feels wrong. I think more lakes and oceans should have awesome stuff like that, damn all realism and just make it look cool
The explanation behind these glitches is just as fascinating to me as the glitchy generation itself. A bit of extreme weirdness in the terrain generator, which leads to an overflow error in the biome check code, right at the coordinates where the feature generator thinks multiple structures are eligible for a placement attempt? Talk about the edge case of all edge cases!
Shipwrecks don't need to connect to the ground, though. Buildings are stationary and need a foundation. Shipwrecks don't because they used to move around, hence no foundation.
The pirates who buried the treasure under the the mansion must’ve been brave, or the Illagers were really dumb. Also shoutouts to the gigachad pirate hiding his treasure beneath bedrock.
I still remember when they removed the villages from two of my favorite seeds that I found (mimi had a stronghold at the bottom of the well and 1000 had basically the whole village above a mega ravine)
The deepest body of water I have ever seen in Minecraft, and it's cluttered with a mess of structures. In that first seed you can get a fully working conduit quite easily tho, and you have three of the bosses right at the start (if counting elder guardians and raids as bosses).
Imagine getting a treasure map, searching an entire chunk for that one chest, going into spectator on a different world to check where it is, and finding it spawned UNDER the freaking bedrock.
Sometimes these crazy generation bugs create genuinely beautiful terrain. In my world there is a savanna village on a series of floating islands that have lush caves on the underside of the islands and painted badlands terrain on the surface of the floating islands. Looking over the edge of the floating islands you see the remains of a mineshaft overgrown by the lush caves. It's gorgeous.
I'm pretty late, but on seed 3, 13:39, the surrounding water around the sinkhole is not an ocean, although it might act like one. It's a very deep lake where the weirdness values slowly rise or decease to the point where sinkholes can just generate in the middle. In fact, the shipwreck that generated in the sinkhole wasn't even supposed to be there. It invalidated the biome check process and decided to generate there anyways.
It would be SO FUN to clear out one of the ‘mega structures’ (multiple structures in the same general area) and live it in. I would probably be an expensive project, but so fun nonetheless!! (also most likely incredibly laggy and broken)
Could have warned me there was a gigantic mountain range between spawn and this place. (Seed #1 with the Mansion) Took me 4 starts and 3 hours to get there. LOL The seed works on an I-Pad BTW 😎 ThX for th great seed!
I went to the first seed and I found some more interesting things. 1 the water physics are wonky inside the mansion. 2 I got an effency 1 leather helmet inside a room with a tree, this room had a wall blocking the door.
One time my husband and I made a new world and we were exploring up a mountain. We found a large tiaga village kind of cutting into the mountain we were on but smack dabbed in the middle of the village was a pillage tower. TwT" we tried to save them but they all died. Except for the ones who are on the lower part of the mountain. 3 golems though lol cus it was large village and the pillage tower has 2 golems
I was looking at the first seed and got lost. But when I got lost I found a floating shipwreck at about -661, 158, 592. So there's another weird structure in that seed. There's also another shipwreck underneath that one in the water.
22061 this seed spawns you right above a stronghold, in a snowy village, right next to the village is an abandoned village, with a ruined portal and with this loot i got a diamond picaxe almost right away. theres a massive ravine near the village with a couple exposed diamonds and the chest loot has some iron tools.
If you want bugs, try booting up Minecraft 1.0 via installations on the Minecraft launcher. Some reason the textures were strange some reason and F5 my character was invisible and all mobs were invisible. I log back on a day later and the textures were fine except for my inventory was still screwed up couldn’t read a thing Mobs were still invisible, but the only good thing was that at least I had my head and body still no arms or legs. I tried updating to see if I can fix these bugs, but I actually made it worse. The textures for blocks returned, and it was actually much worse.
most i've ever gotten was a baby snow taiga biome like 5 blocks across (yes it showed that it was a separate biome through F3), a village with a single house that just had a bunch of roads coming out in random directions and a savanna village generated in a savanna panhandle that was randomly intruding in the middle of the desert with that village also technically crossing 4 different biomes being oak forest, dark oak forest, desert and savanna.
A find that i came across recently on Java was a snowy taiga village in the middle of a swamp within 20 blocks of a witches hut that spawn with half of it in a hill and a ruined portal between the 2
It’s broken in general since 1.12. Like villages always spawns upon or half in a ravine… it’s way more common than in early versions, at least Java version. You rarely finds a well placed semi flat placed village, like you did in the earlier builds
Another thing I’d like to note there is glitched water on the mansions second floor and a pillager dummy in the middle of the mansions first floor AND there’s a glitched efficiency 1 leather helmet in one of the walls of the mansion no joke I was using spectator when I found it
this has the same energy as playing with amplified world gen. but what i love to do most is taking the insane gened worlds and just have fun making bases in them
I actually encountered a similar bug (seed 3) when I was doing voxel terrain generation with simplex noise. The library I was using decided to give either a NaN or -Infinity value in a similarly shaped hole and caused a similar looking terrain anomaly.
I spawned like a block or two away from a dungeon one time I still have that seed if anyone REALLY wants it (don't know if it'll work properly now tho, haven't tested it)
1 thing that I note is that the woodland mansion is a little more than 10x closer to 0,0 than it should be they are programmed to spawn if coronet x or z is = or > than 10000
11:28. I have a game where there is a miniature one by a village with an awkward shaped mountain with two acacia trees on top.(Reply for the seed if interested) Its on bedrock.
I didn’t know I could beat it on Peaceful!!! Yaaaaas!! I might just tear down the Pillager outpost and full on use this as a survival seed… after a bit of repair.
in one of my maps while exploring, I was passing by an ocean with icebergs, and then I found a wrecked ship incasted in ice on top of a mountain, in the middle of the ocean
I haven’t had a map yet in my attempts at hardcore where the generation is remotely normal. Everything is shattered, even single biome maps that aren’t shattered. Not sure what’s up, but the generation of maps in Java right now are wacky.
It is weird but when Woodland mansions were added they didn't have a exact biome they would spawn in I remember where my 1st worlds when I bought the game of the mentions were put out and it was a one lamention in the plane's biome
For some reason the seed doesn’t work for me, I’m on bedrock, typed the seed in correctly and it spawns on some random beach, and when I go to the coordinates I’m just in the middle of the ocean with only an ocean monument
there was probably a dark oak forest that was only a few blocks big and minecraft was like "hey, heres the worlds smallest roofed forest, lets spawn a GIANT MANISON here" and then just piled the structures on top of each other
