Finally! Only a handful of videos have I seen someone who can film well AND knows how to metal detect! So many videos are people swinging the latest and greatest but the basics of detecting are nowhere in sight. Well done video, for all the RIGHT reasons!
Thank you it's actually nice to find a fellow Pennsylvania and non pro figuring out the 600. I'm currently using a go find 66 but I'm hoping to get my 600 soon..
First time I’ve seen one of your videos, I have the Nox 800 and after watching your video think that although it has already paid for itself I have possibly been leaving targets I thought were rubbish. Your one way finds certainly tell a different story. Subbed andThank you for making such an informative video. On a side note all I can say is this is an amazing machine, I have the Deus and Makro Racer 2 but have been having so much fun with this machine.
Very nice video! You explain things very well and the video quality is great! I am anxious to get this machine. I want to see if it can be my new favorite machine over the Deus. Thanks for the video!
Nice video, I like your plug shovel. Just ordered a Garrett edge digger. But yours looks great. I'm only new to the hobby but I get a little bit not sure when people start looking at me, do i dig or do I freeze or what. Same on the beach I go into what the hell do I do mode
Most of the time I will try to be friendly with people and say hello or "how's it going" or something like that. People are always curious about somebody detecting and I make it a point to engage them and answer any questions they might have.
You got the right idea with the "D" handle, I just used some of what I cut off to make a handle, I just put a big lag bolt down the middle of it. I'm cheap! GL HH
So would you recommend the equinox 600? I’ve been looking at several different detectors. I have a simplex right now and thinking of getting another machine
Nice job making the video!!!! I like your plug cutter!!! I bet it is homemade??? I have been using the quick start program. Thanks for showing how to the ground balance .
Yes it is, because of the angle of the blade it is easier to lift the plugs, but I wouldn't use it in a place i haven't been before because it will scare most park managers and grounds keepers. I use it in the woods and in farm fields mostly. In this video I used it in a park that i know the manager very well and he knows I cover my digs very well so that they aren't very apparent after I am done.
Thanks for sharing this video with us. I notice you did the noise cancel under the power lines, did you get any interference from them during your hunt or did the noise cancel take care of the emi.
It will reduce the EMI however in really severe EMI areas it will not eliminate all of it so you have to reduce the sensitivity. As I mentioned in the video I still get very good depth with my sens lowered down to 18. GL HH
Hello, excellent video, very informative and pleasant to watch. P.s. I saw that you have a X-Terra 705 with the Mars "Tiger" double-frequency coil. I would be very interested to see how both detectors react to the same targets (in undisturbed ground). Especially on some faint signals. Have you done any comparisons between the two machines at the same time? Could you tell me something about the audio intelligence of both detectors? Has one an advantage over the other (when it comes to recognizing the depth, size and "quality" of the target, after listening to the audio only)? Have a great day.
Unfortunately I no longer have the 705 but both machines are very capable, With a small round 6" coil the X Terra came work around trash as well as any except maybe the Deus which is in a class by itself in my opinion. The Equinox is also a 1st class operator in trashy areas and as far as audio intelligence I am already able to distinguish junk targets from good ones despite only being out with it a few times, I think it would be relatively easy to become quite proficient with it. I also would like to mention how much I enjoy your youtube videos. GL HH
Thank you very much for your opinion. It sounds promising. I placed an order in October, but my dealer could not deliver on time and I was not in town, when he theoretically could. So I'm off the waiting list for now, but I can at least lean back and watch how everything unfolds. Your video was probably the best I have seen so far. Thank you very much. I wish you a great day and many nice finds.
Both are very good for parks but a lot of people are going to multi frequency detectors like the Equinox, personally I like using both of them in the parks, they are both very deep and fast with good target separation and I would be happy with either one.
I use a GOPRO Hero 2 with it mounted on my head while I'm digging. GOPRO makes a little camera harness that fits over your head. For the intro I was just holding the whole setup in my hand. Very simple but it works.
