He was using custom tones and tone breaks. Can only do that with iron on the 600 so I used the 50 tones which is what I like with X-terra and it works well. In Multi they are the same detector other than the 800 has more fine adjust ment to iron bias (higher settings you will never use) and recovery which may be helpful in some location. He wasn't hunting an area with as much can slaw but yes most will hit in the nickel notch. Nox user will dig a lot more gold and nickels...and trash due to the compressed ID. I like it though. Nice having a do it all detector. 800 is worth the money if you do gold at all or all metal relic hunting (gold mode 2 is super deep true all metal with discrimination) and also if you want Minelab wireless phones and module. I found a nice atp-x low latency pair on amazon for $60 that work great. 600 suits me just fine. Iron Bias 0 vs 1 or higher makes a difference on deep fringe targets for sure. but also falsing on nailes and steel caps.

Yes, like Chris says highest sensitivity just picks up things a ways away. It was falsing a lot from keys in my pocket a foot away. You can uses highest sens and have to detune a lot from trashy ground or other items or I just switched it to medium. still deeper than garrett and less detuning. Only negative I have on the pointer is slow turn on. it's like the first wave of the TRX in that regard. It didn't interfer with the detector but some noise cancel channels do. Just noise cancel with pointer on its an issue or the pointer can shift to 16 different frequency shifts. Oh, and it comes with garrett like holster that doesn't fit well. It also does fit too great in buzz bomb sheath but this can be tweaked/stretched a bit to work. That being said it's work the investiment if you want TRX depth but Garrett 360 detection. Or need to use in salt water or hot ground. Pulse handles that better.

Chris Elkins - i second that. Its Crazy i posted a video on my channel where i am hitting a penny at 4.5 inches in the dirt. changes the way you detect when you can find your target with the PP before digging.

@@pilsplease7561 This is on the Equinox Website underneath the Multi-IQ image: 20 kHz and 40 kHz are not available as single operating frequencies in EQUINOX 600. The Multi-IQ frequency range shown applies to both EQUINOX 600 and 800. So they may have incorrectly stated this but according to their website it is true.

@@WhyCallMeLordLord I also just texted a guy who tested the machine before it came out he told me the 600 does in fact disable the frequencies all the time you don't have access to them even in multi.

Not bashing the 600, but my friend worked on a custom program for the Etrac and finalized it in 8 months. We can dig silver dimes at 14" in bone dry soil while hearing all the trash in the hole too. It's NOT TTF. It has more to do with programming than pattern. But I am getting older and my etrac is now weighing a ton, and was contemplating a 600 or 800. I do not do beach hunting. So I guess I'll be looking at a 600.

I went from a Fisher 1266-X to the Minelab Explorer S when they first came out I think in 1999. My wife instantly did not like it (she doesn't hunt), I asked her why not? She said I didn't bring anymore neat stuff home. I said, "well" I was tired of the neat stuff, I wanted more coins and jewelry. After the huge learning curve, I started bringing the "neat" stuff home again.

By the way I have been detecting since 1960, I am 68 now. I started with a Radio Shack BFO. Now that's a trip for ya.
