Wanted to mention that before you enter into the menu you can adjust your Sensitivity setting by just hitting right and left red arrows. I forgot to mention that in the video.
Just got my Manticore last week, then off to the coast of Maine. 3 rings, 2 earrings, silver chain, and a link of a gold bracelet. It took me a good couple of days to get a solid feel. I will say the M15 is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING at finding quarters. I was finding quarters down 12-15" in dry sand ( which eventually became wet ). Sensitivity was around 20/21, in all metal setting. This machine is absolutely insane, well worth the money IMO.
THANK YOU ! I was on fence between manticore & deus 2. My holding point was I didn’t want to have to take a college course in computers. I currently own two Garrett’s (at pro, at max) so I’m NOT coming from an equinox background. You do make it look less intimidating, again thank you
Just want to thank you for saving me a bunch of time! Just got my machine and sat down with a pad and paper to write down the start up steps, turns out the machine walks you through it and if not for you id be lost!
What I like is you can turn it on and go. and once you start getting a good feel for how it works. slowly start adjusting the settings for finer tuning. There was two reasons why I did not go for the 3030 one price and two all the features it has, Scared me from buying it. Not saying it is a bad detector at all. as I have heard a lot of good stuff about it. Other then most complained about the weight. This Manticore really seems very much an all around great detector. Thanks For the run down on the Menu...
Thank you for the lesson, I just got the manticore a week ago. I like to do beach hunting, unfortunately I live about 5 hours from the beach. I plan on watching all your manticore videos in order before I am able to go the the beaches again. Hopefully I will be well armed with the information I need to have a great opportunity to find some treasures. Just having the knowledge will be enough so thanks in advance.
@@MentalMetal thank you, I watched one of the videos and have all the settings and also learned a lot just putting all of your settings in my manticore. Thank you so much, I look forward to trying them out. Also am continuing to watch more of your videos.
That's why I subscribed to you're videos. Very knowledgeable break down step by step information . Can't wait to start my new hobby. Just have to wait til the ground thaws out.
Very well produced video and extremely informative, well done! Im currently using the Deus II, however from the video’s appearing now the Manticore seems to be edging ahead,,, albeit, I guess we must wait for the long overdue update from XP until we can truly judge…. between these top level machines.
Ok my Manticore arrived yesterday. Thanks for the contact at Fort Bedford they are a great to deal with. I am about to go watch your videos again and take it out Monday. Any advice that did not make it into your videos yet would be great. Thanks again.
Cool congrats. We just had a workshop in Patreon yesterday and I think there was some new things that folks took away. I would focus on the basics and learn 1 program for a couple of weeks and listen to the tones. The 2D map is a tool but not 100% accurate.
I've noticed too that the depth meter seems to be more accurate on the Manticore. If it shows five bars, it is at least 9-10 inches down, two bars 4 inches etc. Can't wait the spring to come, Iowa winters are cold and long.
Thankfully, the Manticore seems quite a bit easier to operate than the Deus2 How would you compare the 2D screen to the CTX3030 screen, either one have any advantages over the other? I know the CTX is one of your favorite detectors, so you would be well qualified to compare the two. Thanks.
Manticore is pulling ahead in my IMO. You get the best of what we liked before with so much more information and options. Plus, its a lighter and much faster machine in general.
I got the Manticore yesterday. Amazing easy menu system. But I do also use the ctx and Manticore a lot more easy. But feels they are in the same family 😅. By the way. Thanks for your nice introduction. As always 👌
Scott....just wondering if the Manticore tones are the same as the Equinox? AND, why would Minelab launch a Manticore along with an Equinox 700/900? They should've concentrated on the new detector (Manticore) and get them out into the public's hands instead of Equinox!! And, why not do a software update for the 800? I doubt the vibrating handle was necessary, do you?? Just a battery draining feature!!
Just picked up mine today.. Man, It's a complicated machine. I do have the nox 900.as well that I think I have figured out. Been using it for a year.. Ive got a lot to learn on the Manticore
Scott, I’m still waiting for my manticore, anticipating that I may be getting a call from my distributor soon. I was wondering if you could give me your overall impression at this point, of the manticore on the beach, and if possible, some basic settings for beach hunting that I can start with. Thanks very much!
Good video as always, the color display is nice, so do you think they will add 4K, that rocked for me on the nox with the 6 inch coil. I am still having a lot of fun with my Deus 2 😀
After watching a few other manticore vids, it looks like ML added some new, improved functionality to the Pinpoint feature from the original Nox series too. 👍🏼
@@MentalMetal yes….the VDI while in pinpoint mode on the manticore will also change when you swing over different targets….The Nox never had the capability to do this.
I love my CTX3030, but it’s heavy. I wear the pro-swing harness to make it easier. I’m a disabled veteran, and it kills my back. Knowing both machines as you do, is switching to the Manticore worth it? I understand personal preference, but the I’d love a lighter machine that offers close to what the CTX does.
Taken from the owners manual: Going detecting with a fully charged battery is recommended. Typical battery runtime is approximately 10 hours, it takes about 7 hours to fully charge. (page 13). Hope that helps.
I detect with Iron Bias at zero with my Equinox 800. In general, do you know how that relates to the Manticore Ferrous Limits settings? If my goal is to not risk target masking and I am willing to dig some nails, would I go with no upper and lower limits, nothing grayed out (if that’s possible)?
You have the similar all metal mode (horseshoe button) that will allow you to hear and see everything. The screen discrimination patterns is lightened so you can still see where you would be hitting on the map but the audio and mappings come through. Hope that answers your question.
