Nice tour of the museum, we have a couple good ones near me that I have not gone to yet. Maybe you can go dig and show us the Herkimer diamonds out that way, get dirty!

It's frigging perfect. I would love those specimens if I had space again. I took physical geology at Skidmore College with Andy my lab teacher. I loved it. The museum should have seen my New Jeresey rocks that glow under a short wave ultra violet light.

Hillman Hall @ Carnegie University in Pittsburg. A significantly larger collection, including the most significant collection of Pennsylvania minerals ever assembled. It has a large international collection, so the display space afforded the Pennsylvania mineral collection isn't nearly as large as what the New York State Museum provides.

Crazy story time!! Ok so I am from South Carolina originally. However, EVERYONE else on and from my mothers side of my family, is from upstate new York. That very lazurite you're talking about in this video, found by Edward's mining Co of st Lawrence, NY, my grandpa worked for when that was found. And I actually have a piece of that actual stone. I just dug it out to compare it and pictures of that stone on the internet and yea, lmao. Which I thought was kinda cool. My piece has little orange speckles when you hit it with florescent light. I wish I could post a picture of it here in the comments.
