I find it really cool that attack projectiles actually come out from the hand and not a fixed point from the unit model. But It's coming out from the wrong hand for Alleria lol. I trust that will be fixed.
Those of you that don´t like these visuals should really get your eyes fixed - you simply don´t know whats´s good for ya. This is some of the most amazing stylized game graphics I´ve seen in a long time. The effects, the texturing job on the landscape, the visual art direction in general - everything´s just mindblowing! They´ve taken this kind of style one step further than what blizzards managed so far. League of Legends will have big trouble surviving when this game comes out. RESPECT Valve!
@Okamirod They are still working on the game and I think that the game as we saw it on The International was very limited and a lot of the shining audio-video was cut away for the professional championship purpose. I think the public game will be much richer.
@coolskillz13 Windrunner is a very versatile hero, she can deal damage with powershot and a well placed shackleshot stun can turn the tides of the game, her windrunner skill can help her escape the toughest environments and her Ulti which is Focus Fire can bring down a foe with excellent speed, every hero is picked for a reason, and she's item dependent unlike Traxex, which is a big plus.
I watched these earlier this morning. The first match had so much lag, so much that it'd stop the game for a good 10 or 15 minutes. But nonetheless it was worth watching all of these matches.
IMO an interactive replay viewer would be awesome. I.e. the replays are saved from the game in a format recognizable by the game (similar to how old WC3 replays were), but there is an interactive player for online, where we can control and search across the map ourselves. Be cool :)
@Okamirod lol. someones not thinking..options>sounds>music volume up up up up... of course they turned down the music beacuse its the commentary video.. wait till you play dota 2.
@fritz908 not really, this version also imitated warcraft's "defense of the ancients" and if i am not mistaken valve didn't seek for blizzards' approval for its intellectual property.
@DBZ0wnz They aren't meant to be an extremely punishing force so the enemy can't dive at all, if you mess up, you mess up, the tower isn't their to hold your hand.
@glory2die fair call, I didn't realise dota had already put up a 5million prize before, I was under the asumption that LoL's 5million prize was a first, and the largest prize in pro gaming.
@nexusFOB it's because because the trailer is cinematic style. if the graphics in the trailer are used in the game then only powerful computers can run it. valve wants the outdated computers to run the game. and they don't want the graphics to be overmade like heroes of newerth.
@gokawi just if u havent realized Dota was made b4 lol and hon and games alike... all games have a map alike to Dotas.. if u dont belive me go check Dota in Warcraft 3.... but im sad that they have this kind of graphic hoped it was a bit like W3
I like it when people say HoN sucks. DotA and HoN are so amazingly similar (for obvious reasons) that saying HoN sucks is kinda like saying DotA sucks too. Of course DotA will always be superior, being the original, but that doesn't mean that HoN sucks lol.
@thr1sn0sp0on DotA 2 is essentially just a reskin of DotA. It's the same game with the same stuff, in a different engine. These are some of the best players from the original, so far as I remember.
@joachimart lol League of Legends never used graphics as something to hold their players in. It's all about the gameplay... and this is just everyday normal DoTA.
@l3eReal I agree with you, it seems to be a middle ground. Graphics are good, yet TF2 style. The gameplay concepts of old dota/hon with the speed of LoL. I honestly wasn't that shocked by this gameplay, it's just HoN with different looks, if it is not free I will not be buy it. But I will try to get my hands on beta, just for lulz.
@hopelesshumanity1 I actually prefer these graphics to both Diablo 3 and WC3. What Valve has made feels like a world and not something made by an editor (Sorry but so far, land design in both SC2 and D3 looks pretty tiled and limited). Also, the effects and graphics feel more alive. LOVE it.
What happened in 20:40+? Any normal person would have found it obvious that the most viable tactic would be to displace that spot. What's more surprising is he's tanking with his own hero instead of the creep he controlled. Lag perhaps?
@TearsofMandos I think hon is the most confusing of those 3 games, HoN have green bar life in ur allies even your enemy. And the heroes have more colors and its confusing.
@fantomchaser1 Aeon of Strife (just putting it out there). But i dunno I totally dig the new graphics. Kind of like oil pastels but with Valve's own style with the pixar-esque matte textures.
@Psykeeper993 well this is the artstyle chocie of 2011 apparently, diablo 3 looks the same. Its allright, i wont stop u hating on it if u choose though
there are three things why miniski won because 1 filipinos are born dota players and since there childhood they play dota (me too) number 2 because filipinos are experts at dota since dota 1 number three they know the tricks at this game and they knoow what the opponents will do and they can trash talk people to keep them distracted at getting angry

Funny though, as Blizzard themselves announced that as to 2008 only 3 Million copies of WC3 were sold, so that means there were 17 Million copies sold since then... seems kinda unreasonable, even if one believes that every serial has been use by 2 people. "I don't see LOL and HON coming close to it..." For that: LoL has about 15 Million registered users so far... doesn't mean it has 15 Million players, but the numbers aren't that far apart.
