Wow I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to program this lol. And also designing new levels that would require progressively more complicated rules.
I really love the idea, and execution doesn't seem half bad imo, but one thing I think this game is severely lacking is actual graphics. While I absolutely agree that having great gameplay is far more important, this definitely seems like the graphics were made in an afternoon then never touched again, which is a shame as it looks like there was quite a lot of effort put in elsewhere. Though again I should reiterate that I really like the concept of this, and will absolutely be giving it a go once I'm able to.
The game is still in active development and getting updates multiple times a day. Hopefully the dev will also update the graphics at some point but right now he's mainly focused on bug fixes and more features
very interesting game, like when i have to do many things to make the game put a region i know its there for example, a 1- sharing 2 cells with a !1, that is also sharing 2 cells with a 2. i can't make the !1 directly into 2 since it says illogical, so i have to turn it into a !3, then a 1+, and now i can put it as a 2. the puzzle instantly solved itself after doing that.
wow, this video was a lot earlier on than the images on the steam page, or the current state of the demo. only the squares, all the size and difficulty options unlocked, etc.
yeah I did wish I could show off the hex boards/faster speed it would've made better content. I didn't expect those to be added later when i recorded/scheduled lol
I really liked the demo and trying to use as few rules as possible. it gets really tricky once you reach the sections where you HAVE to use multiple inputs for a rule, especially with the +,-, or / inputs.
There's a terrible bug where it keeps resetting my save to a previous one. I've made a habit of closing the game each time I made some progress, and sometimes it'll save, but then sometimes it'll revert back all the way to several saves ago. It makes no sense how that even happens and it makes the game unplayable.
It sounds like you are running two copies of the game (demo and playtest maybe). They use the same save file, so if you leave one running in the background it will overwrite your save when it autosaves every minute.
video was created at a time when I didn't have access to the playtest. it is disappointing I was not able to show off speedup/hex/triangle boards though
