Mini | Cam Sensor fault & DIY fit 

Thank you Helena - yes Chickens are much easier, they don't have sensors! We've had lots of Minis over the years (old ones) nothing so complicated! Did I come across as calm? - I'm not - will I get to work tomorrow? @@WildwoodTV Yes you come across as very calm always lol Gracious 6 grandchiildren I would never have thought that was possible as you seem too young...As a teacher ( formerly) I had children every day and it was a terrific career I mainly taught children with developmental language disorders .Fingers crossed you get to work and all is sorted .Hope Holly and Ivy are singing their very own Christmas song-:) Re do you want to go to work .Possibly not :and don't blame you ...🚙

My son didn't disconnect the battery before removing the sensors & the fault did reset itself. But I would if advised to (I'm not a mechanic).

I didn't have that code - is that the VANOS? I also have to keep replacing the lambda sensor as I only do short journeys - so many sensors!!

There were 7 OBD codes 2968 2983 2B68 2F42 288D 296B 2987 👍

The orange engine light has gone, but it hasn't been plugged back in - so not sure if codes are still there, runs fine 'tho 👍

@@WildwoodTV I have engine orange light on for 2B68 only.... it goes on and off every few days. No one can’t figure it out. Though I didn’t replace this bit you did, I may try that now...though I’m kind of tired throwing money in it :(

@@wellwh0 I got one off ebay for £10 the other more expensive as Bosch, AA man said to replace both 👍 (I'd only done 500 miles since the cam chain done)

@@gelsonjoaoklein6333 nope. Mine code is called Mass Air Flow plausibility 002b68. I replaced both O2 sensors, PCV,... with no result. Mechanics think that maybe is bad cat or bad timing, VANOS or Valvetronic, or worn out oil control piston rings, so engine is carbonized due to high oil consumptio.... so I'm f**** I think I'm going to sell it while it still drives. Terrible engines, it had only 140k kms when this problem started.

No - the engine management light went off (reset itself) but the service light remains - needs an oil change 👍

@@WildwoodTV how long after driving the car did the engine light go off? My car is having the same issues now its idling great but the check engine is still on. It says over 25 miles to drive it

@@williammurphy8498 The engine man light reset itself, it's back on now 'tho with same error code. One was Bosch one wasn't.
