Off topic. I read on the MINI forums folk disliking the centre armrest and removing it, my 1 previous owner JCW came without an armrest so I fitted one myself. I only mention this because you, like me, obviously love it and find it very useful without even thinking about it. Thanks for the upload.👌
Hey I have the same setup on my cooper s f56. I also have a nm sway bar 22mm. I noticed squeaking noise in the rear suspension going over bumps. Did you noticed that with the springs? Did you cut the bump stops ?
One thing I noticed was that you have the EDC if I’m not mistaken. I really wish you would have detailed the removal of the front strut top hats from the strut assembly because I’ve read that if it is done incorrectly, you can break the electronic damper. I have a rebuild kit for the front damper and I’m itching to install the new boots and gaskets and re-grease the top hat bearings but I also don’t want to destroy the electronic dampers. Any tips? I’m running the NM engineering springs that drop 1.25” on all 4 corners. Nice job btw. You should bring the Mini out to the U.P. for the world record attempt next year on the Mackinac bridge and also check out running The Tail of the Dragon next fall!
You know, I wanted to add it into the video, but I battle with this. The challenge is, I like watching the details, but sadly, those videos don't perform well on RU-vid and they hurt my analytics. This socket is a must amzn.to/3U2wVnr , so long is you relieve the tension from the springs and you use the proper torque specs you'll be fine. Also, make sure when you are tightening down the nut to the sensor, make sure the shaft is in the right position for the wire. It would be cool to take the Mini up there for the world record attempt. 😍🤘🏼
I agree with you. I would've noticed a difference in the coilovers for many reasons, but I don't want it to be that low. 😅 I'm working with a brand now on potentially installing their coilovers at some point, and theirs are the same amount of drop as these springs are.
@@MichaelBertini umm. What? Any good coilovers are adjustable in height including the JCW pro suspension lmfaooo. Takes 3 mins of research to learn this.
Hi, I have lowered my JCW F57 also with H&R springs but I have lots of cracking noise. Everything has been checked but still lots of cracking. Any idea where is come from?
This is the same question I had too. There's a pin on the back side which goes into a slot on the back. Then you push the strut down into the knuckle as far as it can go and it should be protruding from the bottom.
@@MichaelBertini so the pin doesn’t push up against the knuckle/hub clamp but slides down through the gap in the knuckle? Probs best to photograph and measure beforehand?
@@C22RLD correct. I would measure and take pictures beforehand. I typically do this with everything I touch anyways, even if I have the service manuals. I'm a little "over the top" like that sometimes.
@matebajusz4199 I'm installing my H&R springs Saturday. I'm gonna trim mine as I've also gotten new struts so I have ti drop the rears anyhow at that point
You know what, I just received mine today. In the original packaging, there is an extra bumpstop. I didn’t compare it with the OEM one, but I assume it’s probably smaller.
@@Rogue.Rider0 Oh 😔I was going to say to come see it at the Mini meet-ups we do monthly. Look into the MMR Performance springs, I'm considering going over to those.
Well just spent a half a day driving the NEW Mini 2 door and lets just stay it stinks. Too feminine of a car and just no soul. Tons on the lot and they are not selling. Car Edge said its in the top 10 of slowest selling cars brands right now. Big fail on BMW/Mini part. Maybe women will like them but I don't see many guys buying the new one that are out now. Maybe Mini got a performance one they haven't announced yet? I hope so... I drive a JCW Clubman with a slight upgrade at 325HP with a brace...
Guy spends the first 1/3 of the video talking about the springs and even weighing them. When it comes to the actual install? Radio silence. You wasted 6 mins of my time. I certainly hope RU-vid doesn't monetize these types of videos.
