Outstanding videos. Do you do this professionally or privately? I would like to convert my Cooper S, but I can't find anyone who can do it. I cant do that - i do alot of other things 🤷🏻‍♂️😆

Thank you, it's a hobby for me. If you wanted similar I would suggest a company called unit 10 with the owner Elliott who does lovely R53 converted but I guess it depends on where you are in the world

@@rkde2042 oh thank you - despite living in Germany all that Tuning has to be street legal 😆. If i just could do it myself 🙄 I will take a look to UNIT10. And hey, do some driving vids of your car please. Thanks

Hello I’ve been watching your videos , very informative , I’ve got a question pls What adaptor did you use in the oil filter housing for the turbo oil feed ? Thanks
@rkde2042
@rkde2042 2 года назад
Hi Nick, thanks for watching - I hope they have been useful (need to edit so many more) The oil line is AN4 (dash 4) though I used a M10 to AN4, you can get them in several different thread sizes however it is typical on most oil feeds to us AN4 but do check as some will use different size, normally guided by what is fitted to the turbo in line

@@rkde2042 Thanks for the fast reply , so did you drill and tap the housing m10 for the fitting , or did you weld the fitting on The wall looks a bit thin for tapping , but I guess that’s what it’s intended for ? Thanks
@rkde2042
@rkde2042 2 года назад
@@nickkirby8553 it is a bit too thin for sure however that plus the but behind feels good. I was about to weld a boss on and would if I did it again however there is lots of plastic and rubber parts in the housing

The oil pressure and sensor wiring that goes to the dash, can this be wired into a chrono pack to display the data correctly?
@rkde2042
@rkde2042 4 года назад
With the current fitted sensor no as it is a single wire and just a switch not a sensor and sadly it would not be worth the effort on the chrono pack. sadly the chrono pack is all software driven based on rpm vs coolant temp and guesswork. I do not think there would be an easy or effective way to make the gauge show the correct reading. The only way I could imagine this could be made to work would be to cut the chrono PCB tracks, create a custom board or Arduino type device and drive the stepper for the needle, lot of work for a reading I doubt would mean much to anyone I am having to add 4 new wires back into the system to allow this sensor to work Sorry it is not the news you may have wanted

Did you ever consider using a baffled sump , also are there any performance gains from using the super dampener? Thanks for the content.
@rkde2042
@rkde2042 4 года назад
I've got one to weld in but didn't get round to it for this video. Needs to more modification to fit round my filter. No real performance gains though it's build quality is excellent. I needed a new pulley on the build so fitting the best makes sense Thank you for the comments and watching

Hi mate, what was the bosch sensor you're using for the oil pressure and temp? I'm going down the turbo route also but I've got a forged engine and Link G4+ ECU to fit so I'm going to fit an Omni MAP sensor for the sake of boost, but I'd like to keep an eye on oil temps as well to decide if I'll need a cooler or not. I can find a few different types of sensor on the bosch website but not sure which one to use specifically. Awesome video though, I'll readily admit I'm going to use the same oil and water feeds because they're bloody good🙂

Hi Rory, I'll check the numbers off my list and update you, already quite a few have got the oil temp and pressure sensor after seeing the video and running them. Also I've had a few people ask me to make the coolant system the same, I think there will be quite a few following and why not...

Hi Rory, * Adaptor; Brass 3/8NPT(M) to M10x1(F) * Sensor;BOSCH 0261230340 * 5-WAY CONNECTOR KIT Inc Terminals and Seals; 1928405159 I will be adding all the parts I have used on to one of the coming videos which is the costing video based on the parts I purchased I will also be doing a how to wire the sensor in to a mini and the settings needed for the Vipec/G4. All quite easy but be 100% you only supply 5v to the sensor.

@@rkde2042 awesome, thank you very much! I noticed the Link has a 5v supply so I'm assuming that's the best way of getting power to it

Hi currently they are all out of stock World wide and have been for 6 months and will not be manufactured until later in the year. I managed to buy the last 3 sets in the World and shipped them in from Aus. If you are in the UK I will ship the last set to you for £150 inc shipping that is for CR4600XP STD which I have listed on ebay but more to cover ebay fees
