Found my offside spring had broken the other day so had some time on my hands and removed the shock to rebuild it. Unfortunately the spring compressor tool I’ve bought just wouldn’t hook onto the spring like yours. Mine is similar made by Sealey, there’s just not enough bend in the hook part. Another job I’ve been putting off I’d the exhaust rubber mounts so I thought whilst the cars up I’d tackle them, well that went tits up quickly. Out of the 4 13mm nuts only one came off the other three snapped the studs. All I can say is I’m glad it’s a long weekend cause it looks like I’m gonna need it. Keep up the great videos, you’ve helped to inspire me to get the jobs done on my mini an get it back on the road for the 1st time in two years.
Hey Thanks so much for your comment- REALLY APPRECIATED!! The new lowering springs actually meant that I didn’t need the spring compressor for reassembly. Ah yes, exhaust hangers 👀👀 I haven’t covered that yet but think I’ve got 1 left and all the others have snapped off 😩 I bought a captive nut gun and will need to drill out what’s left of the old studs- joy 🤣 Hope you get yours sorted matey!
@@RichT53 you're welcome, my shocks ain't in the best of conditions so will put coil overs on at some point. Unfortunately it's been a bad couple of years with loosing my mom and financially so I'm not in the best place to be able to do to the car what I want an what it needs. Yeah I feel your pain with the hangers, I already have a rivnut gun but ordered some stainless rivnuts an bolts. I look forward to seeing you tackle the job, good luck
