There are 2 ways of doing this - the lazy way which is what the Mini factory does when the sell this car new and also what the Dealerships would do if this is done there - is to NOT install any gasket maker. The negative side on this is that you may risk a premature oio leak from this gasket due to the lack of sealant! The second way and the best way is to install the Gray silicone gasket maker and only the gray color because this is the one that works the best. Now before you do this you need to make sure that your surfaced are perfectly clean by using brake cleaner because otherwise this will not work! Then you squart the gasket maker all around by applying a thin layer and to finish you need to smudge it with your finger equally distributed and then you install the cover. This is help you to get the longest time and use of your valve cover gasket! Thanks for your support 🙏 👍
