🕣 Because the video production company is the same as Dreamcatcher's, notice the set in RQ's "Good Night" is the same as DC's "Odd Eye" Dystopia Dance version. Likewise, the throne room in RQ's "Holler" is the same as DC's JiU & Yoohyeon's "Monster" cover. May Dawney has a nice, short "Good Night MV comparison" video showing some of the ways RQ paid tribute to DC!

So their version of good night is an homage to dreamcatcher! Youngeun (the drummer) is Handong's drum teacher! But yeah rolling quartz are big fans of dreamcatcher!

It's still my hope that we could one day see a US tour with Rolling Quartz opening for Dreamcatcher. It's pretty common for US groups to have opening acts but I've never seen a kpop group do it and I think they would pair perfectly.

Great to see you checking out RQ! The drummer is Yeongeun, and she actually taught Dongie how to play the drums (sadly no real interactions, just them mentioning on IG they know each other). All the members of RQ are fans of DC and have said they'd love to collab with them, but Yeongeun and the bassist Arem have actually posted videos and pictures of their album unboxings. Also you're in luck - after they finished their US tour recently, they announced they were heading back to start work on their new album/comeback so we can look forward to new music soon hopefully!

I went to their first ever NYC concert back at the end of May at Mercury Lounge. They put on a heck of a show.

Rolling Quartz are sooooo good live! All the girl's have such great energy and stage presence. Jayoung's vocal stamina is insane, it was seriously impressive how she was able to run around the stage as much as she did and still be so stable. Also hearing that Dreamcatcher 'Good Night' rendition live was 👨🏻‍🍳💋!!

So glad to see your reaction to Rolling Quartz. The only live shows I've been to lately have been Dreamcatcher (x2) and Rolling Quartz. (Not counting jazz sets.) Of course RQ also does wonderful, creative covers, and are working on new music, but now that you've been bitten, I encourage you to look for the videos from the US tour (or other live shows you can find on their channel). They are one of the great live bands. (But don't miss their mv cover of Azalea.) Now for something very different - but have I ever steered you wrong? Since you mentioned Halestorm, it is mandatory that you listen to Lovebites, a five woman Japanese band that took their name in homage to Lizzy's song. The 2 guitarists are the best in the world (but don’t take my word for it). You might like this: Midori is also a competitive body builder, and Miyako a classical concert pianist. The songs are in English - singer Asami (think Ja Young, but extra) credits Aretha Franklin, and Alicia Keys as influences). The lyrics display a passionate but non-didactic social conscience. I think it's safe to say most Insomnias are also Rolling Quartz fans, they're just so good. If you check them out again I definitely recommend Azalea & Nazababara.

"is this going to be a problem?" Oh, absolutely. Ive yet to get my friends into dreamcatcher (they arent big on kpop) but I've gotten a couple into rolling quartz since theyre harder. They dont have a large discography yet but they have a lot of really, really good covers on youtube. Misery Business, Azalea, Sing Your Heart Out, and Zitti E Bouni (dont remember which version id recommend, either both or whatever the discord says) would be my cover video recommendations. :) They started out as two different bands, Rolling Girlz and Rose Quartz, but they hit it off and joined together to become the Rolling Quartz we know. They just had their very first US tour back in May (sadly i couldnt swing traveling to any of the concerts...) And they're still posting behind the scenes stuff on RU-vid i think. Also on youtube... If you go to their about page, you'll find links to some of the girls solo channels where they also do stuff. Yeong Un is my bias because I'm helpless to lady drummers, but honestly i love all the rest too... In typical kpop terms they are all wreckers for me. Really glad to see you check them out :)

Nice. You checked out RQ😊 For Krock, two girl bands i always go for. One is RQ, the other is DIH. I lean more to DIH though. But both bands are equally skilled. RQ has 5members, while DIH has 4.

These girls are fantastic. I found them about 8 months ago. I love the video for Holler. These girls are Rockstars. Their attitude just pours thru the screen.
