In case u wanted to know( coz they're awesome and deserve more fans): Jayoung - singer , Arem - bass, Iree - guitar, the one who's always smiling , Hyunjung - guitar, Yeongeun - drums. They all interact on social media with us Diadems so much its awesome. Arem looks like a baddie but out of stage is such a cutie, Hyunjung is a big Pokemon fan(she has a lot of times plushies attached to her guitar).. Also, fun fact: Yeongeun is Handong's drum teacher, i mean, she was/is teaching her how to play etc. They also did Dreamcatcher song cover, i'm waiting for more DC covers coz the slay

jayoung is a really talented vocalist. she’s done back-up vocals for kpop groups (such as majors) and she’s actually a vocal coach as well!! one of her students, suhye, debuted as a killer vocalist in kpop group limelight! :) she also writes and composes their songs (all the other members also compose)

@@lnak.mp4 Yep, LimeLight are awesome too; they have four _predebut_ tracks (Starlight, Eye to Eye (an absolute _must,_ by the way), Paradise and Cha Cha)... as it happens, the Paradise and Cha Cha clips were _also_ shot at the Paradise Diner location! 🤣Then they just had their _actual_ debut in February with the super-catchy Honestly...

There are many many great female bands in Asia! Rolling Quart is a really great band and I hope you try out more. In Japan there’s even more! I guess it’s a thing there to have all female bands because they have more than any other country. Band-Maid (hard rock) is my favorite by far. Check out their live video for Puzzle. But there’s also Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie, Gacharic Spin, Trident, and many more. Indoesia has Voice of Baceprot. Some other countries are Mexico with The Warning (fantastic band), and Ukraine with The Sixsters (now in Germany due to the war).

ty for reacting to RQ! I like them a lot, I wish they were more popular I can't consider myself a fan tho more like a casual listener the girls are sooo talented, they are really cool this might be a sort of unpopular opinion, I kinda don't like how they are sexualized but ig it's what it takes to get more fanboys ughh pls also react to onewe, another instrumental band, they are self formed and self producing, they are incredibly talented

If you are into amazing singers, check out the artist Ado (Ah-doh). She does all types of music. Rock, EDM, Jazz, Electro swing and more. She’s like a vocal gymnast! She can go from a scream to a whisper in less than a second. Just amazing. The fun/interesting thing about her is that she never shows herself. All of her videos are animated and her lives songs she she’s blacked out lighting. Sometimes in a cage that will light up if cameras are used. Her version of the song Unravel is amazing! It was a song for the anime Tokyo Goul.

I love love _love_ Rolling Quartz! As I just said on your Billlie video, these girls are one of the few groups/bands where I'll go all out on buying CDs and merch to support them. I'm _aching_ to see them live - preferably _before_ they get too big for small venues - and I'm actually going to Korea next week. They have an _online_ show planned for the weekend I'm there (which are awesome, and free on RU-vid; they shine live, and they're _so_ funny), but I may still have to wait for an eventual European tour to actually see them in person... 😔 2:00 Those _are_ backing vocals... I think on some of the recorded versions, they're layered by Jayoung, but live, Iree and Hyunjung do backing, and Hyunjung especially has a very distinctive voice a lot of the time. 3:20 Iree has to _try_ not to smile. For their Helena (MCR cover) video, she practiced _very hard._ 5:00 Jayoung is a vocal _powerhouse,_ but also incredibly versatile. 7:50 They played Delight for a long time before _officially_ releasing it on the Fighting mini-album (it was actually the first song they ever wrote together), but that little guitar screech was a brand new addition when this official version dropped, and I look forward to it every time... 😂 10:00 Holler remains my favourite RQ original song (though Rock & Roll Paradise is up there since they started adding the Yeong Eun drum solo 🥰), and last time I heard, most of theirs, too (Hyunjung's was Delight). The demo version is actually one of my phone alarms, so I hear it every morning when I get up... 😜 11:25 That's Arem (Kim Areum); her name literally _means_ "beauty", so her parents knew what they were doing..! 😉 14:45 _These_ songs don't have keyboards, but most of them do play to one degree or another, and sometimes they make use of them for their live covers (most commonly Jayoung, but also sometimes Iree). 14:55 This is actually an older song by Maya, from 2003, and the chorus is taken from a poem published by Kim Sowol in 1925. On the face of it, it sounds like a song about lost love, but it doubles as a political anthem looking forward to the end of the Japanese occupation of Korea. (Okay, you found that 😜) 16:50 Yep, that gets me, too... 17:50 She is indeed, as she almost always does. I think I've seen her play in boots maybe _twice_ in all the times I've watched them... "Nazababara", by the way, is a romanisation of "나 잡아봐라", which translates as "hold me". The guy in the video is Lee Sungwoo, who's the lead singer of punk band No Brains. 22:00 Note, as ever, everyone looking all serious and Iree trying _desperately_ not to laugh..! 🤣 22:25 Jayoung does that sort of thing a _lot._ For being the second-youngest in the band, she sure looks like she's in charge... 😂 23:10 The shit covering the vid isn't there on the version on RQ's official channel, for future reference. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QXMpsSGzFvw.html Mirrorball is the distributor (like a lot of groups use 1theK or Stone Music), and RQ have no control over what they do with the overlays. 24:25 Yeah, Nazababara is deliberately a poppier song for a bit more mainstream appeal. I think I recall Jayoung saying, though, that it's actually one of their hardest songs for her to sing... 28:30 I think it was Azalea that had the whiny guitar... 🤔 30:15 Yup, here's it's Iree. 31:10 This is an _anthem,_ is what this is. 32:05 I _love_ watching Yeong Eun drum, especially for things like this. When I first started watching her (and frankly, still now), I marvelled at how she'd be playing these ridiculous fast-paced beats, while making it all look so _effortless,_ and part of the secret (along with a crapton of practice) is the double kick pedal she uses for the bass. I've compared her to a beautiful swan; so graceful from the waist up - while down below, her feet are positively _smoking..._ 🔥

Frankly, in addition to their own music, Rolling Quartz has a fantastic set of covers & cover/collaborations, including: "Good Night" (Dreamcatcher, with lots of Easter eggs), "Zitti E Buoni" Hot version (Måneskin), "The Star-Spangled Banner" (performed at Otakon 2022 in Wash., D.C.), "Ice on Fire" with Kim Jang Hoon (also sang together again this month... maybe RQ has a thing for singing with older guys), and "Xtra" rock version with AleXa (who joined them onstage for one of their many free online concerts!) Lots of others, like "Dynamite" (BTS), "Misery Business" (Paramore), and "Helena" (My Chemical Romance) which is the only video where Iree doesn't smile. So much content on their RU-vid channel! I love them!

Sorry for the late comment. I like them very much, love their energy and quite often I feel the good 80s rock vibe listening them play, especially on stage. Still I must agree with you, keys would be a real plus. I grew up on rock, my favourite bands being Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Guns & Roses, all of them had keyboards. The real crazy thing with these very talented young ladies is that four of them, Yeongeun, Hyungjung, Jayoung and Iree can play the piano/keyboard. Please check out ‘The Shape Of You’ (Ed Sheeran) and ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ (Lady Gaga) covers. If you really want to have fun, check out their latest (own) single: Fearless (no keyboard). Enjoy. Cheers

I really like Rolling Quartz. My only complaint is that although their songs are written like rock songs, they're produced like pop songs. They are recorded, mixed and mastered like pop songs. The only advantage is that the lead singer's voice comes through loud and clear, as vocals are often drowned out by instruments in rock mixing. The downside is that the punches, breakdowns, solos, basically all the 'rock' effects don't have the weight they should have. Also, I love how Iree (the redhead) is always smiling even when she shouldn't. Also also, Paradise Diner strikes again!
@lnak.mp4

this makes a lot of sense and is def a valid criticism! i can only wonder just how good they would sound if they were produced like rock songs!
@Brickerbrack
@Brickerbrack Год назад
I do know what you mean; especially for the Fighting mini-album, my ideal versions of the original songs would be a mix of the final released versions, _and_ the demos which were up previously - in each case there are elements I prefer about both... which is why luckily I do have the demos downloaded and _listen_ to both equally!

Hi LK, just recently discovered your channel, and this video today (~10 wks after posted). "Sing Your Heart Out" is also a cover of "Song of the Heart" by Crying Nut, a famous South Korean punk band that's been performing since 1995 (before most Rolling Quartz members were born!) They're one of Iree's (red-hair guitar) favorite bands, and she played with them at their 25th Anniversary concert! Just three weeks ago, RQ played at their big party/festival, with Crying Nut's main vocal joining them onstage.

You were right to be "confused" during "Sing Your Heart Out". Rather than "underwhelming" (33:25), the word might have been "understated". I agree, it's a bit of a non-chorus, but it makes sense when the crazy last part kicks in. It's just not a song with a verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure.
